Welcome to Frontière Farm House. We are located in beautiful Calhoun County, Michigan, right between Battle Creek and Jackson. We are a small pasture-based livestock operation, raising poultry, pigs, and rare breed Jacob sheep. In the early spring, we will usually have fresh baby lambs, and chicks. In the summer and fall, some of the veggies in our gardens will be ripe. Our property has a 16 panel solar array, and the majority of the power we use is from those panels. We are happy to include them on your farm tour.
We are an inclusive space, and we welcome all genders, orientations, and ethnicities.
This is a working farm. You will see, hear, and smell things you may not be used to. That is part of the appeal of staying on a farm!
We ask that pets remain on leash, other than in our fenced in yard for dogs. Please let us know you will be using that yard, and supervise your dog while they are using it.
Children are welcome, but must also be supervised. We have electric fences, tripping hazards, animal manure, and other normal parts of farm life, and we don't want anyone to get hurt.
If gates are closed, ask permission before opening them. Do not go over, under, or through any fences. Our animals are friendly, but we don't want either you or them to accidentally get hurt.
Smoking is permitted, but dispose of any waste in either the burn barrel, or your own trash.
Do not enter the neighbor's corn/soybean field.
Pick up your trash, and any waste from your pets.
Generators are allowed in some circumstances, please let us know if you need to use it.
We are on a paved road. The driveway has a small decline off the road, but it will not affect access.
You can either drive into, or back into, the driveway. Small vehicles, roughly under 25 feet, can turn around, larger vehicles will not be able to turn around. If you need help getting into or out of the driveway, we are happy to help. Just give us a call when you arrive.
The RV spot and additional vehicle parking is located in the grass between our driveway, and the neighboring corn/soybean field. You can drive or back into the driveway, and onto the grass north of the driveway. The location is fairly level.
We are not available for Friday night stays.
We can accommodate up to two RVs per night, so you may be sharing the farm with other guests. We ask that you treat other guests with respect.
Downtown Marshall is a short 10 minute drive away. Wander through lovely antique stores, awesome boutiques, and great restaurants. There are also two breweries in town.
Downtown Albion is also about 10 minutes away. There is a fantastic brewery there, which occasionally has some of our products on their menu.
