We recently sold our home in the city with a desire to move to the country. We landed in Barton, Mississippi in July of 2021 to a home and property we love. We purchased the home from an elderly couple who couldn't maintain the property anymore so please ignore any mess. We are currently working to make it our own but I think you will find you will like it as much as we do. :)
We have 2.5 acres with a 9.5 ft wide, 45 ft long concrete pad in front of my shop. Please note the concrete pad is level from side to side but there is a very slight grade from front to back. You are more than welcome to use leveling blocks or the wood pieces I have outside my shop. In my shop I have 30 amp service installed and water hookup on the side of the house within reach.
Please disregard the black trailer, tires, etc. in the pictures as that has now all been moved. The tires and "junk" were gifts left by the previous owners of our home lol.
No smoking on property as was have a little one we'd rather not have exposed to that.
Children of all ages are welcome.
No running of generators at all as 30 amp power is offered.
We ask that you don't fill up your fresh water tank but only use the city water connection.
Check-out time is 10 am unless special arrangements are made.
ABSOLUTELY no drug use as you will be asked to leave the premises.
No gravel roads or steep hills.
Only tight corner is the turn into the driveway which the size is a standard size driveway entry. I back my 3/4 ton truck and 31 ft trailer in with no issues whatsoever.
Guest will only need to back down long driveway if lawn is wet or it has just rained. Otherwise you may use the lawn to turn around.
Driveway does have 2 small curves but would not impact any size rig from getting in and out. Please watch out for the 2 tree stumps on the east side of the driveway from the trees I just had cut down to give you the ability to be a guest :)
No low hanging trees on my road or driveway as they have all been trimmed.
Located 3 miles from Highway 302 and 3 miles from Highway 385 that takes your to I40 or I55.
Plenty of space to park tow vehicle on the concrete or the grassy areas surrounding the camper concrete pad.
We do a lot of last minute trips in the summer and fall, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you.
Local attractions include Memphis (10 min away) , Beale Street, Bass Pro at the Pyramid (30 min away), Memphis BBQ (make sure to ask me my favorite BBQ shack), and the Historic Collierville, TN Town Square which is just minutes away.
Our hosts are absolutely friendly and charming. They provided a great space to set up our class A as well as space to park our utility trailer.
The information they provided about things to do and places to eat saved us so much time in planning our stay there.
I look forward to visiting with them on our next trip through.
This was my first BW stay and could not have been more pleased. The hosts have a beautiful, level, and quiet spot. They responded quickly to my request and communicated with all pertinent info. The host met us upon arrival and provided access to city water and electric. We got a great nights sleep for a planned long drive today. I would definitely stay here again 😊
Halliday Inn have only been Boondockers Welcome hosts for a short time, but they understand how to get the most out of the BW experience. They are a welcoming, friendly, gracious family and helped make us very comfortable. We exchanged tales of the road and funny stories of our experiences. They helped us with suggestions for local attractions and restaurants that were invaluable. If our travels take us anywhere nearby, we’ll be back!
Absolute sweethearts. Communicative, thoughtful, and welcoming. We were left largely on our own to make the secluded, level section of their driveway our home, but they made it clear they were available if we needed them. An easy 30 min to downtown Memphis made this a convenient location for travelers passing through. Highly recommend.
The Halls are a lovely couple, with their adorable son Rhett. Lance welcomed me, and then directed me to his perfect concrete area in front of his shop. They offered utilities for a nominal fee which I readily accepted, 30 Amp & city water! They recently bought this beautiful brick house on 4 acres with lots of fun plans! Had a nice chat, shared about Camper living etc.
Was Very Peaceful & Quiet, no road or other noise. They just joined BW and already had several guests booked….no surprise given their kind, generosity! Felt like family coming to visit.
A Jewel of a Host for sure
Great level paved driveway out in the country (quiet!) with water and 30 Amp electric. Welcoming hosts. I was their first BW guest!
