We have been traveling the US in our 21" Born Free Motor Home since 2009. Details: We are a couple who have been traveling the US since 1982 when we went cross county with our 3 children ages 13, 10 and 4. 29 states and 47 campgrounds and we caught the travel bug. We then bought a campground in Southern Maine and enjoyed running it for 4 seasons. Since then we continued to be self employed in the travel and building trades. We are now retired and spend our summers in Maine and winters on the road. We have visited the 50 states. Hawaii by air. :-) Home Town: We live in Naples, Maine. We arrived here in May 2016 after selling our Sticks and Bricks in June of 2015 and traveling to Alaska for the summer. We then spent the winter out west and upon coming back to Maine bought a small parcel of land on the Crooked River with an RV and full hookups. We fish, canoe, kayak, float in tubes and swim in the river. We enjoy sitting by the fire almost daily when weather permits. We are 3 miles from Sebago Lake State Park where you can swim, hike, bike or just enjoy the view of the lake with the mountains in the background. Sebago Lake is the second largest lake in Maine. We are less than 2 miles from the Songo Locks, a hand turned swing bridge that is intersting to watch as boats of many sizes travel through it to connect from Long Lake and Brandy Pond to Songo River and Sebago Lake. We are within 5 miles of Naples Causeway that offers a beautiful area to walk and many restaurants. The Songo River Queen is at the Causeway available for a boat tour of Long Lake. Delicious Maine seafood is available within a few miles to eat in or take out. Farmers markets are also near by. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Quartzsite, AZ Skills or Expertise to Share: We are somewhat Jack & Jill of many trades but masters of none. Always willing to share our experiences and knowledge and receptive to learn more from others.

The hosts are a lovely couple who made us feel welcome right from the start. They are great communicators, and very knowledgeable about the area. Having electric at the site was a BIG bonus. We used our stay to visit family in the area so we did not have a lot of time to explore. We only wish we had more time to visit with the hosts and play some cards!! Happy trails!

This is a fun spot right on the banks of the Crooked River which drains into Sebago Lake. The river is unusually high this year with all the rain, but would be great for kayaking. Site is level, convenient and easy to get to. Hosts are warm, welcoming and generous. We had a delightful time visiting and sharing camp fires. It was like leaving family when we had to move on. Hope to make this an annual visit.

There is plenty of room but if you require hook up then it can get a bit tight. They were extremely accommodating to try and make things work.

Dick and Shirley are beyond great hosts. Their spot is right on a peaceful river, and they did everything to accomidate us. We loved using their kayaks up and down the river, and they supplied us with a beautiful bonfire and conversation each night. They are also provided us with a wealth of knowledge/tips from their years of traveling and expereinces. We look forward to visiting them again!
