Location
Access Road Conditions: Paved private road. Parking area is paved 26 x 40. Class B, Class C and Vans under 22' can just pull in. If you tow a car behind, you will need to disconnect in town before arriving Trailers and larger campers will need to back in: You will need to be comfortable with backing up and have the skill level to back up a 100' drive way with an incline and a curve. Driveway pavement is 10' wide with a 13' wide clearance between 2 trees. (see photo) We can back our 22' trailer up there, but it's a challenge and it takes a bit of time and effort! We are not trying to discourage anyone, but just giving you fair warning and asking that you be realistic about your ability to back up what may be a challenging driveway! Also your vehicle needs the power to push your trailer uphill. 4WD is likely needed. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: next to rig

Living our best life everyday Details: We have been happily married for 40+ years. We are retired and love having the freedom to do what we want when we want. We love to travel in our trailer but we also travel through a home exchange group. We like to travel, kayak, hike and garden. We spent a winter traveling all over Baja in our trailer and it was a great experience we are looking forward to repeating. We hope to go to Alaska for 3 months and also are planning a major cross country trip. Nova Scotia here we come! We both are natives to northern California and feel lucky to live here with so many great adventures right in our own backyard. Life is good and getting better! Home Town: Grass Valley, in the beautiful Sierra Foothills of northern California

Had a wonderful time staying here and sharing camping stories with the hosts. They were so nice, warm, and very welcoming. Super quiet neighborhood and still close to Grass Valley & Nevada City. Hosts have a neat list of hikes, restaurants, and things to do in the area. They are not exaggerating about the space requirements and difficulty backing in to the space with a trailer. If you're towing, it requires expert level backing up skills. We loved it and will absolutely come back when we're in the area!

This is a great location to Grass Valley. Beautifully landscaped. Extremely quiet. Nicely paved almost level parking area. Electricity and Wi-Fi. The host are extremely kind and friendly. Communication was quick and courteous. The following day I was able to depart in my 24 foot View by doing a 180 out of the parking spot. With assistance from the host. Any rv larger, or trailers would be a little tricky in the spot.

Forest hide away is well named. The spot is flat surrounded by trees and very quiet. You feel that you are in a real boondocking place in the forest. It is conveniently located 10 minutes away from town. The hosts were very easy to communicate with, very nice and welcoming. We highly recommend it.

Many thanks to Rick and Mickey for hosting us at their beautiful home! This place looks like something out of Better Homes & Gardens magazine. Though the access was challenging with a 21’ trailer, Rick coached us right in. It’s obvious that our hosts not only enjoy gardening, but also hosting. They were gracious and welcoming. We shared some coffee and spoke about R&M’s trips to Mexico and their house swapping experiences, both things that we would like to do one day soon. We came away with a feeling that we’d found new friends! Thanks Rick & Mickey! Hope to return soon or see you in Mexico, Paul & Laurie
