Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe live north of Destin, FL and is easily reached from I-10. We have room for up to 2 RVS. Our yard has huge trees with branches but have had many RV drive in without a problem. We travel a lot ourselves and the property is not available when we are not home as it is usually occupied.
We live surrounded by Eglin AFB and they have a bombing range to the north of us. Occasionally we hear booms from the bombs and a small shake. Low flying aircraft can be seen and heard, we call it the sound of freedom.
No smoking
No running generators between 10 pm and 8 am.
it is a sandy drive with large trees and plants. We have a curved drive that is too small for huge RVs. Gate might be tight but we make it with our RV and so do others.
We can park tow vehicles in our yard.
We travel a lot and cannot accommodate RVs when we are out of town. E-mail us if you want to visit. We do not check e-mail every day.
We are booked through the available days until 3/30/2021
Destin and South Walton beaches.
Had a nice stopover for one night between 2 state parks. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed the bay view and a beautiful sunset.
Had a great two night stay. Hosts were awesome and let us and another rv er stay. Their driveway is plenty big enough. Kind hosts who let us sit on the pier overlooking the bay for sunset. Great to chat with experienced Rv ers.
Wonderful location. Great host. Pete even let me extend my stay a few days. Love this place. Would definitely come again.
Nice couple with a nice view of the gulf from backyard! Entrance was a little tight, but plenty of room once through the front gate.
Churn and her husband were great hosts. We didn't get a chance to interact much but we did enjoy the conversations we had with them about their house and traveling. Their backyard looks over the bay which is a wonderful place to watch the sun to down after a day of traveling!
This past weekend I stayed at the Bay House and it couldn't have been any better experience. There is a place around the back of their house that has a swing overlooking the bay. It was a perfect spot for a cup of coffee and watching the pelicans and dolphins.
It really felt like I was staying with family over the weekend. There's a great restaurant not 1/4 mile down the road to the west called Nicks Seafood. Get the steamed shrimp...trust me!
Mrs. Churn was so delightful and helpful. After figuring out what adapter I needed for the 30amp hook up, her son came over and found what I needed to get my A/C running. If it wasn't such a hot weekend, I would have just dry camped. Upon leaving, I found a bowl full of home grown tomatoes at my doorstep! Over the weekend, we chatted about the benefits of joining Escapees. They were very involved with that group at one time.
I would not hesitate asking to stay here again! It was a delightful weekend.
We had our first Boondockers welcome experience with Sheryl and Churn and it was a very pleasant one. The locatoin is lovely and the view over the bay awesome. Many thanks!

Nice place to see the sunset. Incredible garden property on the bay. Everything was easy going ;)
Love this place. Your literally able to sit on their dock with the bay in the back yard....little cool for our visit but we still went out there. The Bay House were excellent host and made sure we were all set up. Great stay definitely will be back.
Blue Lagoon Acres
We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed the peace and quiet at this waterfront property.
Definitely a place we would go back to enjoy more beautiful sunsets.
Sherry & Pete could not have been lovelier. Their property, right on the bay, is the perfect spot to watch spectacular sunsets as pelicans dive & fish right off their dock. Sherry told me about "Escapees.com" and the group's annual convoy to Mexico which I'm going to investigate! That's the most wonderful thing about boondockerswelcome - meeting such great people and always learning useful info. Thanks to you both for a peaceful, relaxing and informative stay!
This place was absolutely stunning! Highly recommend this location with the very accommodating host! Pete was kind enough to walk the property with us to sure us around, but he also checked make sure we had everything we needed for the night. But best of so he was very kind and fun to talk to! Not only is it level but shaded, be with electric and water! Did I mention the view of the bay in the backyard?! I mean wow how fun to watch the fish in action. Pete share a little history of the neighboring towns as well. Highly recommend this location. Wish we didn't have to leave to go do internet work.

Loved sitting on the bay watching the pelicans dive for fish. Hosts were great.
Loved staying at Bay House. Nice hosts and incredible view. We were supposed to stay two nights, but only stayed one due to air conditioning issues in our camper. Their view was incredible. I got to watch pelicans catch their breakfast while having coffe and met some very friendly folks next door.
We stayed at Bay House for two nights. Our hosts were really nice and welcoming. Their place is right on the bay where you can watch the sunset and feel a nice breeze. The beautiful white sandy close to where they live are so beautiful! We highly recommand Churn as a host!
We had a a nice couple nights stay and were warmly greeted and even got to see some beautiful sunsets over the bay. Thank you so much for hosting us!
We enjoyed excellent hosts with a marvelous view of the bay.
We have so enjoyed being Boondockers Welcome members and meeting all the wonderful people associated with the group. Sherrie and Pete were 2 more examples of the quality of hosts in this group - kind, friendly, accommodating, helpful, and generous. Their space was shaded and level, and they provided water and electric. They have a dock in the back where we took in the lovely view of the bay and the sunsets. We highly recommend Bay House if you are in the Ft. Walton area, and would love to visit again one day!

Little slice of paradise thru the trees, Hosts kindly offered Electric & water, parked under huge old trees hanging w Spanish moss. Walk thru to the back and Wow - a beautiful view of the bay of the gulf coast. Large dock for sitting or fishing, and if warm enough they had a ladder into the water. Truly only for short single vehicles as driveway gate very narrow, inches from my side mirrors hitting the posts and the turn around is sharper than appears given where they Park their cars. Very kind to allow a fellow traveler respite for the night.
Loved those old oak trees! Very nice spot for the night with gracious hosts.
We loved staying here. Really great hosts who have a wealth of information about how to best travel around. They are also great with kids our two loved their garden and the fab access to the bay at the rear. It was our first time doing this and we had the best start!
We really lucked out to get to stay here. We loved it, from the moment we got there. Pete and Cheri were so welcoming, and friendly. They have a dock on the bay, and just a really peaceful spot. They told us all about RV'ing in Mexico, and got us excited to give it a try ourselves. We would love to go back if we have the chance.
Churn hosted our family for a couple of nights in November, and they were great hosts. The location was awesome; we had a couple of amazing sunsets, and we were able to explore the area and the beaches. It was nice to swap stories about travel experiences and preferences with them. We really appreciated the great set up they had for us. We have more info about our stay and photos of the area on our site, https://www.mctravelers.com/single-post/2017/12/29/The-Florida-Panhandle.
Churn has a beautiful site and is in great proximity to beautiful beaches on the gulf. We would certainly recommend them to any other boondockers
We didn't actually stay with Churn (space opened early in the state park for us) but we were literally on the way to his place when we got the all clear from the park.
Super nice, and great communicator. Was willing to accommodate us even though there was already another boondocker in the normal space offered. Kinda bummed we didn't get to meet in person.
So huge Thank You to Churn! If you stay there, be extra nice. :)
Lauren & Wayne
Churn and her husband are very nice and her place was a very good site for visit the Panhandle.
And view on the bay is wonderful...
We have enjoyed spent 3 days in there place !!
We recommend Churn !
Thanks you for your hospitality
This was our first time utilizing Boondockers Welcome. They where amazing host who where very gracious to share there beautiful site. I hope that we can continue visiting other BW but I can tell you now that the bar has been set very high. We hope to visit them again in the near future.
Churn was a great first experience for us in the BW community. We pulled up to smiling faces and were situated right away with ease. We didn't chat too much, since we got in during the early evening and planned to leave the next morning, but we were shown the beautiful backyard on the bay and told to holler if we needed anything. Our impression was that our hosts were very kind and down to earth people. Hope to get back someday!
Churn exemplifies the openness and sense of community that has made BoondockersWelcome so special. I don't think "No" is in their vocabulary.
They've certainly made us feel like valued members of the community.
Thanks again Churn! We'll see you next time! ;-)
Spent a night at the Churns and enjoyed a great sunset in the back yard..Very nice people and had great conversation. Hope to visit again on another trip..
It was a great spot to boondock. Sherie and her husband have a shady lot that backs up to the bay. They are wonderful hosts.
We stayed at Churm's for some nights on our way from south florida to nebraska.
Cherry and Peter is a very special persons. They were invited to dinner at their home, and also to take a boat ride. He provided us with everything we needed. Thanks Cherry and Peter!
Paolo and Giovanna from Italy
Great location and great people! Very welcoming, equipped with water and electricity. peaceful place and breathtaking sunset. I highly recommend.
Sherry's son and their neighbors welcomed me the moment I arrived and made sure I had everything I needed. What an absolutely wonderful peaceful location. I watched the pelicans come in and roost for the night, listened to the waves and watched the sun go down. Thank you so much for two blissful days.

A great boondocking experience! Beautiful location; good people. Thanks for sharing info and experiences.
Not only did we get to stay here over a month but were also supplied with power and water. It's a large property and a great location for spring time or fall season.
