Quiet country acreage about 1/2 hour from the interstate but convenient to all amenities (Costco, Publix, Walmart) as well as the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge and Francis Marion National Forest. There is a long, narrow gravel driveway but this was no problem for our 24 foot travel trailer. Our host met us at the gate and showed us where to back into a perfectly level spot. He is exceedingly kind and generous with his great expertise on RV’ing, local information and directions. This is a lovely, peaceful spot with fruit trees, vegetable gardens, chickens, beehives, deer and 3 friendly pups. Would love to return if they’ll have us!
Scott was very helpful. He helped back our camper into the space he provided and hooked us up to his 30 amp outlet. He showed us his beautiful Airstream and told us about all the little improvements he made to it to call it his own. We had a lot of questions and he was very patience to answer them and we came away with a lot of new ideas for our little camper. Thank you Scott.
Scott was a great host and it’s a beautiful place. We will definitely stay again when nearby!
Had a great stay at Bugtussle. My host was very accommodating and nice to chat with. The property is stunning, peaceful and quiet. Perfect place to stay while exploring Charleston area. Thank you!
Bugtussle was an absolutely wonderful place to stay! It started with our host coming out to meet/greet us and show us the most level spot to set up. It was perfect. He provided us with 30A power and water. We didn't need to use the water but our host made sure to let us know that we could help ourselves to it. The property is amazing. I sat for a couple of hours watching the herd of deer that freely roamed the property. A group of 6-7 huge turkeys waddled in to join the mix. There was a brief standoff before they co-mingled! There was a beautiful egret that hung out in the pond in the yard. But wait! There's more! While walking the property you will also find a beehive and a chicken coop with a rooster strutting around the perimeter. All of this mixed with the quiet peacefulness that we encountered made this a perfect weekend retreat. Our host was a great conversationalist which made our stay all the more rewarding. We hope to one day visit again.
Helped us park and get setup. Shared some useful information about traveling with us. Awesome property
Nice quite place for a stop over. Scott was very accommodating and helpful. Would easily stay next time I'm in the area.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were in the area to check out Charleston and surrounding areas so we spent most of our time out driving around and seeing things. Our kids do the Jr Ranger programs at the national parks and one was only 15 minutes away.
When we were back at the property we had a very nice time walking around seeing the chickens, be hive, letting the kids practice casting into the pond and riding their bikes.
The hosts are very gracious and we enjoyed talking with them, learning about the area and swapping stories of traveling.
We would love to come back if we are in the area again.
This is a fantastic place to stay! Scott is an amazing host! We wound changing our dates and stayed over Sunday and he wa more than accommodating. Beautiful piece of property! And so friendly! We will be back! We visited with our granddaughter while here, she’s a sailor and it made The Weeknd complete!
This is a wonderful place to stay! We were having some delays on our way due to some mechanical issue and road closures due to road accidents and a lot of road constructions and the owner is so understanding to still took us in for a night. We will definitely recommend this place.
We greatly enjoyed our stay! The location and hosts were so nice. Beautiful location tucked back in the woods.
Our hosts Scott and his wife were super accommodating and friendly. Site was beautiful, level, and best of all peaceful
We had such a lovely stay here! This was our first experience with Boondockers Welcome and such a good one. We enjoyed trying their turkey figs that they offered us and they didn't mind our children exploring their grounds, looking at the chickens and asking lots of questions.
Thanks for the hospitality!
Our visit with BugTussle was wonderful. We especially appreciated the local beach advice and their generosity with us as their guests. Beautiful place! Our visit experience exceeded expectations. We regret not being able to stay longer but our busy summer schedule afforded us just enough time to visit. Hope to visit again sometime.
