Yeakelburger raises the bar for hosts several notches. For me and my mission of climbing the 14ers in the area, I could not have found better partners/hosts than Yeakelburger. Their love for adventure and outdoors was a common denominator for us. Their generosity in all respects is unparalleled.
We didn't actually get to stay (something came up on our end), but Doug and Lolo were so very welcoming and kind. Lolo and I communicated via boondockers welcome and then Doug and I spoke by phone. He shared tips about the area and gave advice for mountain bike rides. Both were so very kind, my big regret is not meeting them in the flesh! Hope to cross paths in person, I bet we would be fast friends :-)
We loved this spot! It is only 2 miles outside of town but feels like a secluded forest. The hosts were incredibly friendly, and just very cool people. Leadville is really a hidden gem with its historic downtown and the mineral trail, a 12 mile paved path that can best be described as an outdoor mining museum. If you love to bike or ski, you will want to visit this place!
Easy to communicate with prior to the stay. A nice warm welcome. Gave us a couple spots to choose from. Asked if we needed anything, even offered some extra amenities. Our kids had a great time! And Leadville is beautiful. Already missing it. Would definitely stay again.
Friendly hosts and pup! We were blessed to have this serene spot to rest in.
Thank you for hosting us!
Lots of space, swing set and lovely views of Mt Massive.
Doug and Lolo have a beautiful place, a with direct view of Mt. Elbert in a quiet woodsy setting. We had interesting discussions with our hosts. Doug took me on a gorgeous 15 mile bike ride on a path that circles the village.
