We are the first unincorporated community directly east of San Diego. A lot of people in our community have horses on their property, but our house is in a more densely populated part and we only have a quarter-acre. There is a lot of hiking in the area generally, and good fishing at Lake Jennings (just a few miles away). The city center of San Diego and the beach are both about 25 minutes away (except in rush hour traffic, when it can take up to 45 minutes).

Location

Access Road Conditions: My property is located right off a paved road. You have to make a 90-degree turn to get onto my paved easement road. Then you will have to pull into my paved driveway, back up several feet into the easement road, and pull into the RV spot. Please note that the RV parking is not paved, it is dirt with some gravel. There is a slight downward grade from from the front end of the spot to the back, but everyone who has stayed there has said they didn't need leveling blocks. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: The additional parking spot is along the edge of our easement road. This easement is an access road to other houses, but the parking spot is on my private property. The tow vehicle parking spot is approximately 40 feet from the RV parking spot. There is also plenty of street parking about 15 feet from the RV parking spot.

Thank you Rachel for allowing us to use your parking space! In the interest of giving meaningful feedback that will be of value to hosts and guests alike (e.g., setting the right expectations), here is my honest feedback. Let me begin by admiring Rachel's level of responsiveness prior to our arrival. Although we met her only briefly to say hello the following morning since we got to her place late at night, she seemed very accommodating, friendly and flexible so we give her high marks. My caveat: it took me at least half an hour to get my 18ft trailer safely in the spot trying to avoid hitting the retaining wall and overhanging tree branches. I must admit am not very skillful in backing up the trailer given that the spot was kinda narrow. Also, there's not much room on the street to make turns. The bush on one side and the tree on the other side required skillful/precise turns. This spot is perfect for small to medium RV's but I wouldn't recommend it for trailers longer than 18 ft. Also, I think it is important to note that the spot is right beside a major road and there's traffic noise up until late at night. I hope this feedback is helpful in one way or another.

I can’t say enough positive things about Rachel’s Quarter Acre. The site was perfect, and easily accessible. Shaded and private and secure. Rachel’s high level of communication is certainly the icing on the cake. A lovely spot and a lovely person. Thanks Rachel!
