  • Same Day Requests

    me

    Yes

Depending on the size of your rig and my schedule, I may be able to accommodate last minute requests. The mailing/map address is Somerville, but this is just outside the city limits of Snook. I have a place for one RV and a tow vehicle if needed. This is on the farm about halfway between Texas A&M (Bryan/College Station) and Lake Somerville. It's nothing fancy, but it's a place to stay. It's relaxing and there are usually a lot of songbirds in the yard. Frogs and crickets will serenade you at night and maybe even an owl or coyote. Enjoy the sunrise or venture over to the shop driveway for nice sunsets. I will be at work most weekdays unless I can work from home, but will be available by phone if needed. On weekends I may be home or out camping on my own adventures. We will coordinate arrival/departure times. 🐕🐈👩‍👧‍👦The site is close to a Farm-to-Market road and we do get quite a bit of traffic in the morning/afternoon on weekdays. It's okay for pets to be off leash, but keep them and children under constant supervision. Sometimes, there are coyotes in the area at night, so I don't advise letting pets out at night to roam free, especially small ones. Please pick up after pets in the yard area. There is a security light next to the driveway. There is a cedar tree immediately next to the parking area, so keep in mind if you have bad allergies to them. There is a fire ring with a flip-over grate. I have some wood, but you may want to bring your own. Grilling is allowed. There is a small table outside as well as a bench and chairs. There are Munzees here and a geocache nearby. 📦 If you would like to have packages delivered here, that's ok too. Suggested Local Attractions: In Snook: Fantasy Fitness - the local gym Sargento's Mexican Restaurant - Mexican Food Slovacek's - Convenience store and meat market, kolaches, Exxon gas and diesel (closed Mondays) Sodolak's Original Country Inn - Steaks, burgers, chicken fried bacon (closed Sundays) Snook BBQ Co. - Fridays & Saturdays for lunch Snook Watering Hole - beer, wine, setups (bring your own bottle) (closed Mondays) Small Laundromat Family Dollar Citizen's State Bank / ATM Close: (This is Texas, we gauge distance in time, not miles) Less than 20 minutes to Kyle Field / Texas A&M University / George Bush Library 25 minutes to Downtown Bryan - restaurants, bars, First Friday events 20 minutes to Lake Somerville - 3 Private, 2 COE, 2 State Parks 45 minutes to Round Top - antiquing 15 minutes to Independence - Antique Rose Emporium 30 minutes to Washington-on-the-Brazos 1-1/2 hours to Austin or Houston

Location

Access Road Conditions: In dry weather, you can pull into the driveway and into the pasture to back up in front of my carport. You may have to back in off the main road if we have had recent rains, but the driveway is straight and about 150' long. If you are in a motorhome and towing a vehicle, contact me and we can discuss a better option for disconnecting the tow vehicle. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Parking spot next to my vehicle or in front of the rig if it's short (blue lines on the photo). Parking is on road base. Just do not block my vehicle. In dry weather, there is possibility of second parking spot for smaller/lighter rig in the pasture - 15 amp hookup only.

Native Texan who is a Weekend RVer for now. Gotta make that paycheck... Details: I'm a solo camper, but I like to camp in groups for fun and safety. I take the travel trailer out as much as possible, but I still have to come back for my full-time job, so I'm usually limited to central Texas. I LOVE the Hill Country! I'm an Administrative Assistant and Microsoft Certified Trainer (Office products). I love camping and dancing and combine the two as often as possible. I enjoy the scavenger hunt game called Munzee and I do an occasional geocache. When I'm not camping, I enjoy working and hanging out in my yard and I prefer to use Native Texas plants. I love watching the birds and other critters in my yard, especially the hummingbirds. I'm an Aggie, Class of '92. I have a grown son. I beat Pancreatic Cancer in 2023! Home Town: Snook, TX Favorite Boondocking Locations: Any place that has a 30 amp (or at least 20 amp) hookup. Preferably not a tight squeeze. Mostly level spots. A little shade is nice. Skills or Expertise to Share: I'm a Microsoft Certified Trainer. I can help with OneNote, spreadsheets, Word, etc. I'm pretty familiar with Google products as well. But don't ask me what to do if you have a blue screen. :)

Great communication from Denise certainly kept us from an unfortunate encounter with a low bridge. So appreciative! We disconnected next door in her family’s spacious driveway and repositioned to our BW spot. The space needed just a little leveling adjustment and we used electric. Our time was spent visiting the Bush Presidential Museum & geocaching…one of which was within walking distance. We’ll definately return our next time passing this was.

We absolutely loved this boondocking site. So quiet. The host, Denise, was very friendly and accomodating. We appreciated electricity and water. Perfect place for relaxation. We did drive to Round Too to tour the antique community. We had a piece of pie from Pie Haven. Highly recommend visting Round Top. We would use this site again.

What a gem of a place. Can't say enough good things to say. Great communication, easy in/out (might have to reverse in if it is raining), quiet overnight, and a wonderful host. Hope our paths cross again with the host. The host also provides electric hookup but we did not use it.
