Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostLevel gravel parking area on a quiet residential street in one of Ontario's prettiest towns. Parks, shops, galleries, restaurants are all easy-walking-distance from here.
No generators or music/noise after 10 pm please out of consideration for our neighbors. You'll actually be parked closer to them than to our house (which is far enough away that we can't offer hookups - sorry).
You may be able to pull through but it will depend on your rig, the time of year, and whether we need access to the parking area for other vehicles. We can handle an RV length of 43 feet if you're the only one here and are prepared to unhitch. Tall fifth wheels or Class A motorhomes need to beware of a few low-hanging branches in the parking area. They can be avoided and we're willing to trim the tree if it's a real problem.
If your rig is longer than 20 feet, you may need to disconnect and park tow beside the RV or on the street.
We can welcome you most any time. (Snow is not cleared in winter so, unless you're prepared to shovel your way in and out of the lot, it's best to avoid December through March).
A 15-minute walk from your RV parking spot takes you to any of the following: the Elora Gorge Conservation area, Tooth of Time and waterfall, Elora Mill Inn (reopened in 2018 after extensive renovations), Mill Street with its many shops, restaurants, and galleries.
Also within easy walking distance are the Elora Quarry (scenic swimming hole), the Elora Cataract Rail Trail, and Grand River Raceway and Slots. A 20-minute drive takes you through Mennonite country to St. Jacobs and Elmira.
So nice to meet you both. Loved the spot, and enjoyed sharing stories. Wishing we’d have found Boondockers Welcome sooner, meeting people and sharing adventures is what it’s all about.
Again, Thank You, and we’re sure to meet again.

Sheila and I had a wonderful time staying at Marianne and Randy's home (driveway)! The are very considerate and welcoming. They showed us the area, including the beautiful Elora Gorge that boasts an up to 2 hour nature walk with numerous rapids, which is only a couple of blocks from their home (inner tubes are available for rent from the park administration). Our hosts were very helpful in showing us routes of travel to Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. We would be very happy to stay and visit with them again! Our thanks to a wonderful couple for their hospitality.
Pretty cool town. Great stroll through town and viewing the gorge. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful.
I arrived earlier unexpected - Marianne happily greeted me at the curbside and showed me where to park and then invited me in to their home. Randy and Marianne are welcoming and friendly and informed me about the nature of boondocking. This was my first Boondockers Welcome experience. I will return to Elora again for another stay for both the friendship and the lovely Elora.
Stayed one night with Marianne and Randy in beautiful Elora, Had a great visit sharing trekking, camping and boon docking experience.Highly recommend, hope we cross paths again somewhere, someday.
Thank you so much for sharing your property with us. We felt very safe. Lovely area to visit and we will be sure to return. Our host was welcoming and had some great stories about their travels. We cycled, visited the Elora Gorge and drove a short way to the only remaining covered bridge in Ontario. Good fun!
We loved meeting Marianne and Randy and staying at their comfortable and quiet Boobdocking spot in Elora Ontario Canada.
It was kind of a last-minute booking for us and they graciously extended an invite . We had wanted to stay here at some point as it’s close to Guelph where our daughter goes to university and we also wanted to have the chance to meet the creators of the Boondockerswelcome. We were not disappointed on either front. Marianne and Randy are a lovely couple and made us feel so welcome. We would welcome them to come and visit us at anytime as well. Elora because I lovely and quaint town. We visited one of Marianne And Randy‘s favourite coffee spots and walked around town. We spent a few hours at Victoria Park within walking distance from their home and walked along the gorge. It was so lovely. I highly recommend this place and this lovely couple. Thanks again you guys. Great to meet you.
Since we arrived so late I only got to talk to Marianne briefly. She invited us over for morning coffee but it was pouring rain so we headed out early. We will definitely be back again this summer.
After a Roadtrek factory tour, I was fortunate to boondock with Randy and Marianne in their wonderful town of Elora, ON. After we shared a light supper they took me to a dance at the Canadian Legion. It was a wonderful evening. If you stay with them I recommend you arrive early in the day and enjoy some of what their town has to offer.
This couple are delightful hosts. Invited me to attend Canadian Legion dance just a few blocks from their home. Also enjoyed happy hour and light dinner before the dance. Wonderful town less than an hour from Roadtrek factory.
We had marked this spot on our map after meeting Marianne and Randy in Tucson at an Escapade - if we were ever in the area, we wanted to stop and get to know the owners of Boondockers Welcome. Were we in for a treat! The town of Elora is quite the attraction, rivers, gorges, restaurants, parks - and Randy's family is part of the history here. He knows every nook and cranny and we walked all over. Marianne and I could talk website business for hours. We shared a few delicious meals and too much wine! They are the perfect hosts in a nice quiet residential area - walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Elora. Our Roadtrek looked so cute parked next to theirs!
Mark this spot on your map - you'll be glad you did.

Little did we know when we signed up to this site that our first boondock would be with the creators!
Marianne and Randy were brilliant and so forthcoming with info to a couple of newbies.. Even though preparing for their own big trip they made it evident that we were more than welcome and we had a great time meeting them. Thank you so much for having us and your brilliant idea! Happy travels :) Nat and Alex.
Although we have members in the past, we rejoined recently and had our first experience with Boondockers Welcome with Marianne and Randy. They made our 30th anniversary celebration very special, going out of their way to provide us with local information including some great walking trails and dining recommendations. We felt very welcome and all of our uncertainty of using Boondocking Welcome vanished. It was also wonderful to learn from them with all of their insights into ways we can travel in our retirement in 2017. The parking spot was easy to get in and out of and being right in such a beautiful Ontario town was very enjoyable. Elora is one of our favourite small towns in Ontario and we are looking forward to returning in the future.
Hi- wanted to say thanks for the stay and for the exchange of information. Always a pleasure to see you both and hope we can reciprocate here some time.
Based on only one [very good] Boondockers Welcome experience in my first year, I happily renewed for another!
Hadn't been to Elora for about 25 years but remembered its beauty. Luckily there was a BW member close by with available space.
Imagine my delight when I realized my hosts were Marianne and Randy...absolute encyclopedias of frugal RVing knowledge!!!
They were right there when my dog and I arrived and guided us into a lovely, shady spot with huge trees and a spacious, flat, private area. The entire neighbourhood felt very safe.
My expectation was for just a parking spot but we got so much more!!! They instantly felt like friends...very easy to be with...and more than generous with their time!!!
I learned some Elora history, was offered maps and brochures, and was taken on an amazing hike around the breath-taking gorge by Marianne. She's very athletic. She also makes a mean taco salad!
Randy spent a lot of time helping me figure out a battery problem...a very patient and thorough teacher!
Do yourselves a favour and visit Elora. It is charming and quirky and unforgettable. And do yourselves an even bigger favour and meet Marianne and Randy, two people who squeeze every ounce of adventure out of life...their energy and enthusiasm are very contagious!!
Kudos to Marianne for the brilliant BW idea! Can't wait to visit them again!

The Elora Gorge is something I have wanted to see for ages. The Town is reminiscent of a town in Britain. Our hosts were Fantastic our meeting was like old friends getting together yet we had never met. I know everyone who has met Marianne and Randy have nothing but positive thoughts. Marianne "Thank You!" for being you and creating this wonderful idea were RV's can share the space they have available.

Perfect location for an easy walk to downtown restaurants and trails. Marianne and Randy gave us some very useful tips on finding the trails that the locals use. Excellent hosts and quiet location. We will be back!
Shula & I visited Marianne & Randy in Elora Ontario,
We came with arented car from Toronto as our rig is already stored for the winter and awaiting us to pick it up in the following summer.
As we entered thier house we immidiatly felt welcomed ,we chated and found many mutual interest.
The 3 hours we were there flew without notice, that is what happens when you are having a good time.
Thank you for your king hospitality.
Hope to see you again.

Marianne and Randy have started a wonderful way to see the country. Not only is it free and safe, you have interesting people at each stop to advise on sites in the area to see. Their spot is nice and level and close to all the attraction in Elora.
My wife Angie & I stayed for two nights in Elora as guests of Marianne & Randy and it was our first time to be guests at a Boondockers Welcome location, and since they are the originators of the organization, how great was that!! We got lots of good information from them about the joys of boondocking and look forward to meeting new people this way as we head to Canada's west coast this summer. They are a warm and friendly, very knowledgeable couple, and, by the way, Elora is a nice place to visit too.

Since they stopped by our place in TX we decided to pay a visit to them. No kidding, it's a wonderful town. We just loved it. We had a great time visiting with Marianne and Randy and the family. Not only does she host a great website she makes a great Boondocker host as well. Kudos to her daughter for the fabulous work she's done on the website. Boondockers Rocks!!
We had a wonderful visit when Marianne and Randy welcomed us to their home in Elora on our maiden voyage with our Roadtrek. They are boondocking pros and fellow Roadtrekkers so we were taking notes! We found many topics of conversation and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The boondocking spot was flat with no need for levelling. Marianne provided sightseeing tips, too. For those interested in seeing in seeing rural Ontario, Elora is a lovely, walkable town and Marianne & Randy are wonderful hosts.

Spent a couple of nights at Marianne's & Randy's, wonderful hosts. They provided a lot of information on my future travel plans. The site easily accommodated the 20' motorhome and the town of Elora is a delight to visit.
Couldn't resist stopping in at Randy and Marianne's place to actually meet the originator of this site. Real nice couple. The parking was a little tight for a pickup and 28 foot trailer. It's in town as well so we only used our generator for a short time. We had breakfast with them and it was great to hear her plans for the future of this site. They drove us all around the town and showed us the sights. Elora is beautiful and is perfect for walking around for a day. Highly recommended.
