We’re perched on top of a hill overlooking Arbutus Lake in northern Michigan. We are on the edge of Brown Bridge Quiet Area, a large preserve with great hiking. We’re also a short drive to Traverse City - about 15 mins. Guests will park in a side driveway in front of a detached garage with a view of the woods. Access to the lake directly on our property may be available, but is down a long flight of stairs and will depend on our use of the dock. Can fill water if needed. Suggested Local Attractions:Arbutus chain of lakes, Brown Bridge Quiet Area, Boardman River, Vasa Trail, Sand Lakes, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission Peninsula

House Rules

Dogs must be fully vaccinated and well socialized. We have two dogs on the property. The yard is not fenced. Our dogs have an invisible fence, so they will be running “free”, but their range will not include your space. Generator use is okay, but we ask to use it as minimally as you need. Please restrict generator use to 9am-8pm. Please take your trash with you. We don’t have a dumpster. We generate minimal trash and use pre-paid “red bags” that are available at local grocery stores, if you purchase your own bag, we can take it down to the curb with ours on Monday. Direct access to the lake is on a case by case basis, ask us when you arrive. It’s a small space, if we’re not using it during your stay, you’re welcome to enjoy the dock & lake.

This is an absolutely amazing location sitting high on a hill overlooking a lake. the parking location is quiet and private. The host was welcoming and showed me all around the location. i would stay here if back by Travrse City!

Our hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. Their spot is so beautiful with soft grass and lake views! We loved the nearby hiking trails they suggested. We slept peacefully and felt tucked away in a safe place but close to the things we wanted to see.

We enjoyed a peaceful night of sleep at this great property that’s about 10 miles from downtown Traverse City. To get to the house, there is a long, paved driveway that is a bit bumpy (we just went slow and it was fine). There was ample room to turn around and get situated in the parking area, which was relatively level. The host was nice and we chatted with him upon arrival and again the next morning. They graciously allowed us to use the patio and we enjoyed our morning coffee overlooking the lake. Highly recommended!

My hosts couldn't have been more helpful, thinking about poor Ms. A. standing out in the rain trying to direct me... lovely property, and lovely people. TY so much for the respite from the road. :)
