Our home is in a quiet, country location almost hidden in a grove of trees and surrounded by cow pastures. Accessing the house and garage is off limits, but you (and your pets) are welcome to roam the entire rest of the 5 acres. DO NOT CROSS ANY FENCES. That is the property line. If you come in mid to late June there are many beautiful pink lady slippers growing naturally in the ditch along the roadside. Please enjoy from a distance and do not pick (they are illegal to pick and relocate) so as to preserve the area for years to come. There will be a dual gas/charcoal grill available for your use as well as an outhouse, should you so desire. We are less than a mile from a quiet, local park and campground. This offers a swimming beach, playground, baseball diamond, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and fishing dock. There is also nearby boat access and the lake is excellent for ice fishing. If you drive around the area you'll likely see an Amish horse and buggy!
No entrance to the house or garage and DO NOT cross fences. Clean up after yourselves and have fun!
This is a narrow driveway with many low hanging trees, we hope to cut them back soon as we have been driving our own rig through here, but have not done so yet. There is room to turn around at the top of the driveway, though drivers will need to be comfortable backing up. There is potential for the area to be quite muddy as you will be parking in the grass/dirt. Electric hookups are available, but no water/dump site.
There would be parking available next to the rig (for one rv) or on the driveway if you're staying in a group.
We travel a lot, but usually have someone staying at our house and are comfortable with him 'hosting' for us. When you reach out, please indicate if you'd prefer to be sure we are home. Thank you!
We are within an hours drive to Itasca State Park, headwaters of the Mississippi, many local swimming and fishing holes, 30 minutes from quaint and unique shopping along main Street in Park Rapids, MN (a popular tourist destination), river tubing, and great local bars. Ask us how to find the local Amish stores for unique homemade gifts and food items. :)
