Nice rural roads. We own 10 acres of open meadows and Carolinian Forest. We have a little bush camp out back for tent camping. The hobby farm has a small orchard, pig pasture and free ranging chickens of all kinds. The vegetable gardens cover about a 1/2 acre. Guests are welcome to enjoy fresh produce and farm fresh eggs! We are surrounded by wind turbines, although none are close. Close to the lake, the temperatures are cooler in summer and warmer in winter. The earthship is under construction, but offers a lesson in alternative building styles. Suggested Local Attractions:If you find yourself walking up the road 10 minutes, you will find yourself at The Hounds of Erie Estate Winery. They offer premium wines and hard cider. If you smoke, pick up the butts. (The chickens will eat them!) Keep pets contained or leashed, we really love our chickens free to roam! Keep noise down at night.

Off Grid Permaculture Gardens and Hobby Farm Details: We are a family of four, with children born in 2008 and 2010. We love nature, and animals and gardening. We enjoy bushcraft and video games. We are a work in progress. Currently we live in an office trailer conversion, while building our off grid house. Home Town: We are very rural. The closest town is a blink town called Clear Creek, a historic village. There is a small town 10 minutes away with a small grocer, in Port Rowan. The closest towns to shop in big box stores are equally distant, 35 minutes away. Skills or Expertise to Share: Small Repairs to Vehicles, Gardening, Wild Edibles, Home Preserves, Earthships, and Off-Grid Living.

Awesome time at Roger and Petrina property!! Nice to get to know Petrina and great stay for us as we travelled the area. Site was great on gravel area, level ground . Backing in was no problem either. Nice walking paths into bush ,chickens were no bother either, 1 dozen of chicken outputs bought for Petrina. Highly Recommend this Host !

Received a warm greeting from Petrina when we arrived. We were directed where to park, It was a nice level area over looking a pasture field one side and the start of there earth ship on the other side. We learned about the way the earth ship was being built and how it will function year round. All around great stop and evening conversation

Petrina was a lovely hostess. I loved seeing her future home and having its building explained. It was a beautiful peaceful setting. Private and nice and level. I loved helping out a bit in the garden and getting tips on production. The chickens were so fun and pretty as well. I really wanted to take Indigo home. Barb

We had a wonderful stay at this location. Petrina and Roger are very welcoming. We enjoyed their campfire and meeting some new friends. We loved the fireflies at night.They are working hard here. Thank you to them for so much great info and thank you to their friend Cynthia for the earth education. We would love to come back!

Belly Dance Garden was a great place to stay. Our trailer area was quiet and a perfect spot for the night. Our host was informative about her farm and it’s sustainability. Our host was very friendly and the feathered friends were extremely welcoming.
