Located up a hill near Lake Whatcom, I'm offering one spot on my driveway for overnight guests. It's a beautiful area in the trees with shade, though it can get windy at times. Since this location is up a very steep, narrow, windy road, it is not ideal for trailers or big RVs, therefore, I will only host vans and cars. My HOA technically doesn't allow vehicle habitation, so it's important to be discreet and not draw attention to yourself. I would prefer you stayed to sleep at night and then left for the day if you are staying multiple days. I also have a cat that is often outdoors during the day and sadly my cat has been attacked by dogs a few times, therefore, if you have a dog, you will need to keep your dog inside your vehicle or take it for a walk in the neighborhood on leash away from the house. Bellingham is a great town with lots of places to visit. I recommend Whatcom Falls, Chuckanut Drive, Boulevard Park, Fairhaven Historic District, Mount Baker, Galbraith Mountain, and the many local micro breweries. There's a lot to do if you love to mountain bike, kayak, hike, and paddleboard. Please note that Lake Whatcom requires inspections on all watercrafts to ensure there is no spread of invasive species. Please follow these guidelines and respect the rules: https://whatcomboatinspections.com/

House Rules
Technically there is no vehicle habitation allowed, but if you're not drawing too much attention to yourself and not setting up things outside your van, then it's ok. Please be discrete and stealthy. Please also be respectful to my neighbors and be quiet from 9pm on until 8am. Absolutely no generators. Pets are allowed but please keep your dogs inside as I have a cat that will be outside at times. You are welcome to take your dog on a walk on the street on leash, away from the house, but please be sure to pick up after your dog. This is a nice quiet neighborhood and I'd like to keep hosting people, so don't ruin it for others. Be respectful, clean up after yourselves, and leave no trace.
Location
My driveway is off the main road and is quite steep and uneven, so please drive slowly and cautiously. Please try to avoid the part that is crumbling apart already when driving in and out (if you look, you can see where that is) and please don't hit the greenish cable box along the side. I also have a cat that is outdoors at times and there is a lot of wildlife in the area, so please watch for animals and don't drive fast. My van is parked on the gravel next to the driveway and I utilize the left side of my driveway (when facing garage) to get in and out of the garage, therefore, please park your vehicle on the right side of the driveway (when facing garage). Absolutely no tow vehicles allowed, no trailers, and no vehicles longer than 25 feet total.

I'm a part-time vanlifer that enjoys traveling and exploring new places. I mainly travel on the West Coast, but hope to eventually make it to the East Coast, Baja, and Alaska. My cat Maverick travels with me in the van and he too loves to explore and be outside. I love to swim, kayak, paddle, and go on easy hikes. I also love going wine and cider tasting, and camp often with friends. I host boondockers at my house because I know it can be challenging to find a place to park when visiting cities, and I hope that when I'm on the road, the favor will be returned. Host was warm and inviting. Nice quiet spot, just be sure to pay attention to host’s notes and keep it low profile in the HOA and you’ll be fine.

We are so happy that Barbrocks offers this safe, quiet place to park in the heart of Silicon Valley yet near a number of beautiful open spaces and state parks. Her place was easy to find and access, she was friendly and offered great info about the area, helping us take a much needed outdoors break!

I really enjoyed walking around this neighborhood, very quaint with nice homes! Barbrocks is a great host with the perfect parking spot out front. It’s got a tilt, right side is higher than the left side when you’re parked there, but didn’t bother us at all
