***SORRY, we will not be hosting for a while as we are getting ready to travel and will be renting our house. *** This begins on May 5, 2023. We will update our profile when we are ready to begin accepting guests again. We are 5 minutes outside the town of Smithfield on 38 acres of mostly wooded land. We are secluded and have walking trails on the property. The trails are well defined and there are some hilly parts. Our property is nothing fancy but it is quiet with plenty of room. If you are with a group of campers we can probably accommodate up to 6. If not groups, then probably about 3 so you are not real close to each other. We do have three dogs that run at large most of the day. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE DOGS, PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A STAY. Our dogs will bark but they are friendly. They may come to visit you and I don't want to have to worry about someone being afraid of our dogs. Suggested Local Attractions:We are 5 minutes outside of downtown Smithfield..... home of Smithfield hams. Smithfield has a downtown district featuring historic attractions, charming shops, boutiques and galleries as well as restaurants and a brew pub. We are one hour from the Virginia Beach oceanfront and about an hour from Williamsburg/Jamestown..... can take a free ferry ride here. Lots of historic locations and numerous military bases within an hour.

The road getting in is a narrow dirt road that's a little scary driving a big rig down. But once in, it was a quiet, relaxing stay. The hosts and their dogs are really nice, too.

We stayed two nights; quiet area nestled in trees; hosts were delightful! Great place to rest before visiting Williamsburg / Jamestown area. It rained several days prior but there weren't any issues with the dirt driveway or camping area. Definitely recommend staying here.

This was one of our best Harvest Host spots with a beautiful campsite and close to Smithfield, a picturesque colonial town not to be missed. Terri and Paul were great hosts along with their very friendly (3) dogs who got along with us and out 4.5 pound Chiuahua. We highly recommend Kroehn's Paradise and hope to return return.

Don’t know how I got your name wrong in the review. Everyone, she is called Terri! Cookie recipe to follow.
