Corbett Oregon is located between the Sandy River and Crown Point on the Columbia River Historic Highway. We are at the mouth of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge twenty miles east of Portland on the way to Hood River. It has mild weather throughout the whole year, and the winter months (Dec to Feb) can be windy and chilly.
We would expect the guests to put all their trashes into the trash-bags, and clean up the area before they leave.
There is a 500 yards gravel road with slight steep hills. There are no tight corners, and small to mid size rigs should not have difficulty navigating. The guests do not need to reverse town the driveway and there are sufficient room to turn around. There are no low-hanging trees, but some blackberry branches that taller rigs may want to avoid. Due to COVID 19 delays, we still haven't completed the project to have electricity to the barn from which the guests can connect with their RVs or trailers. Water supply can be provided by connecting a few long pipes to the house.
There are enough space for tow vehicle parking next to the rig by the pond and creek.
We joined Boondockers Welcome in Feb. 2021. The space should be available most of the time. Please feel free to email us in advance to reserve your spot. Right now, there are no electricity hookups. We are building an electricity pipeline into the barn, from where you can have electricity hookups hopefully by this summer, but COVID 19 has delayed the project. Water supplies can be provided by connecting two long pipes from the house.
There are about a dozen amazing water falls and the Columbia River Historic Highway. Some of them have hiking trails that are rated as among the best around the world.
We had the opportunity to be the first guess at Double-Creek farm and WOW, such a gem! Steve and Caren met us on our arrival and directed us to a beautiful, level area to park. The spot is quiet and secluded, but is so close to Portland and all the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. Steve and Caren not only made us feel at home but we felt like old friends getting together. They shared everything we us, delicious food, fresh eggs and the best conversations The only drawback is the steep winding road to get there. We have a 20ft. TT and F150 truck, we had no problem. We hope to visit our new friends again. If you are in the Portland area this is a great place to stay.
