We are located on the banks of Lake Mitchell. This is an 8000 acre lake we have fishing areas from banks and peers and swimming areas. We also have a boat launch and a nice 30 x 50 deck that can be used for picnicking or gathering.
We have a family environment and so we do not allow excessive drinking or partying.
Lots of small town shops and boutiques.
The hosts were fantastic and made our stay so comfortable. We had time to spend in the water with a sunset pontoon ride and a canoe for during the day. Such a warm and friendly couple. Would definitely stop there again.
I regret that we weren't able to personally meet our hosts. They were available by phone and super helpful. We enjoyed a quiet night and the lakeside location kept us cool and comfy even during August. It was a little gnarly backing through one narrow spot, but I've dealt with sites even more difficult to get into at some state park campgrounds. It was nice paved road all the way from the freeway to the marina and it was super easy to find GRACE's marina. There were beautiful ducks around when we arrived, several varieties with wonderful colors and some pure white, but they weren't around at dawn when we left. A big thank you to our generous hosts for making this little gem available to us.
This was an amazing experience! The drive to the location from the South was on beautiful, country roads that twisted & turned and went uphill- and downhill. Rather tricky to pull into and back out of the parking spot, but experienced drivers probably won’t have any issues.
We highly recommend This site to RVer’s with small trailers or small motorhomes.
Wonderful, friendly hosts with a beautiful location on the lake!
You never really know about the place you will be staying until you get there. This place was absolutely amazing!! Not only the location of being parked right on the water, but the hospitality of our hosts. I know that we have never met anyone as welcoming and friendly as this family! We felt like we belonged there and hated to leave. They welcomed us into their home, took us on a sunset boat ride, and just chatted away. This place will not disappoint you! We thank them from the bottom of our hearts and fell blessed that we stayed there!!
The best hosts we ever could imagine, thank you so much. This place is just amazing for family’s.
The hosts take us out for a boat ride, we had so much fun. He let us use his kayak equipment and was super friendly.
We enjoy our stay a lot!!!
We really enjoyed staying at Gracie’s Marina. It was unique and our hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home. We hope they will visit us sometime soon. Thanks so much for everything.
We had a great stay right next to the water and the host went out of his way to make our stay memorable. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
The marina is 10 easy miles from I-65. The road leading to the marina is down hill to the lake, but I had no problems getting my 40’ DP there. Roads are good and traffic light. You will need to unhook toad once you get to the marina. Smaller rigs may be able to get to where the host has power. Cell phone coverage is very weak, but near the boat ramp I was able to make call and use data. Host gave excellent instruction and helped me position my rig. Great place to stay. Will stay there again. Lake is beautiful and marina very peaceful and a great swimming hole.
The G.R.A.C.E. Marina is a great place at Lake Mitchel. There is a boat deck, slide, spot for swimming and docks for boats.
We were welcomed with a warm Alabama welcome by the hosts. He showed us the property (it's huge and a fun place!) and his own rig at the storage. (Wow, once we're grown up and big enough, this would be our choice).
He took us for a boat ride on the lake and told us that the area was hit by a hurricane, weeks ago.
We had a spot at the lake. In the morning we were woken up by the charming chit-chat of the ducks. In the weekend people come here for swimming, water skiing and a boat ride.
There's a little Shop operated by the host and his wife for the essential last minute goodies.
We felt like we met our long lost friends! They are a wonderful couple and we had the pleasure meeting some other family members too. Their son showed us his converted van. It looked amazing.
When you're in the area, but sure to visit the G.R.A.C.E. Marina for a wonderful time!
Such welcoming hosts and beautiful night by the lake. Kgeorge were able to accommodate us on short notice, and we were able to park out Class B van right alongside the lake. We enjoyed meeting their family and sharing travel stories. Grateful for our new Alabama friends!
First the land: Flat, quiet, set aways, power, water, multiple choices. I chose to park right on the lake (like 5 feet between my van and water). Amazing! The landscape is stunning.
Next the people: Kgeorge was a spectacular host. His son and I got to bond over our built out campers. They treated me like family. Kgeorge made sure I had everything that I needed. Truly amazing people. The whole family.
A lovely spot with very kind people! Wish we could’ve stayed longer so our son could play in the water. Will be back!
This was our first stay since joining and we could not be happier. Our host went out of his way to make us feel welcome and we had some time sit by the lake and visit. Great flat spot for our camper with easy back in access. Thanks for a great first time experience.
This was our very first experience staying at a Harvest Host and it could not have been better! Kgeorge & his wife were welcoming and accommodating. Their marina is quaint and quiet and the lakeside campsite was picturesque. Highly recommend this host!
This was our first time using Boondockers Welcome, and it was a great experience. Kgeorge was very helpful and accommodating. He helped us get set up and made sure we had everything we needed. Our spot was right by the lake and it was beautiful. This would be an amazing place to stay during the summer. We highly recommend!
