There are way better options not that far away. Not the ideal place for a camping adventure, but if you're desperate this is a place.
We got a driveway, 15 amp power, and water.
We have a shade tree if you feel ok about sitting in a strangers front yard on the corner of a busy road.
There are sidewalks throughout the area for a walk.
If you let us know, we might be able to give your dog a little time off leash on our back yard. We have dogs too.We can bring them in for a bit. There is an irrigation canal a block away if your dog is controllable, they can run there. We also have 3 or four off-leash dog parks a short drive from here.
Food and shopping are blocks away.
-Feel free to walk your dog, but pick up da poopies. Even though I can't stomach the feeling of a steamy, warm, squishy dog turd through a thin plastic bag, you got to do it.
-Don't be too rowdy.
All roads in the area are paved. Driveway has a slight incline from the road.
Plenty of curbside parking.
Really, this is just suburbia..
-Drive an hour or so east and you're at the Coast. South Padre Island!
- Mexico is 30 minutes through town away. Not tropical Mexico, but if you need a Dentist or Pharmacy on the cheap, it's there.
In a nice suburban neighborhood, very peaceful with GREAT hosts! Even tho I was right there in the driveway, I felt like I had plenty of privacy. I was gone a lot of the time visiting friends and local attractions, and the hosts had no problem with me coming and going. They were very attentive of my needs and did all they could helping me set up, including allowing me to use some leveling blocks to ease the slope of the drive.
If you are under 55 it's one of the few places to stay down in the Rio Grande Valley in TX...lol.
Thanks again for your hospitality!!!
they’re genuine, kind, funny hosts
who were very welcoming and accommodating. they provided water, electricity, a gorgeous backyard, local
advice and, the best yet - excellent company. yes, a stay in someone’s driveway can be awesome! we really like these folks!
