We love our guests and we enjoy hosting! IMPORTANT: If you contact us via the HH-system replies may be delayed (a lot). We will provide our mobile phone number when we approve your stay request - please use this to communicate via SMS/text messages rather than HH's platform. ############################################# We live on 10 wooded acres. The surroundings tend to be very quiet, although hunting dogs are common and may be audible at night. Turns on the circular drive are tight - please see the pictures to determine whether you will be able to navigate them. Note: Take the driveway clockwise, especially when leaving. Due to the tail swing of we would recommend a limit of 25' for trailers. Although tight, we have little trouble with our 35' Class A motorhome. (Unfortunately, HH does not offer hosts the option to set different lengths for types of RVs.) Some of the trees have branches that may be too low for taller RVs. We keep them trimmed for our own RV, which is 12'3" tall. The camping spots have not been leveled yet, but we manage to level our own 35' motorhome with some strategic maneuvering and some blocks for the wheels/leveling jacks. We have a dedicated RV-spigot at the side of the house that is rated for potable water. It is too far from the camping spot for a permanent hookup, but you are welcome to use it to replenish your fresh water tank. Since we're on a well we ask that you limit your refill to about 20 gallons. Wi-Fi is available if you need it. We have a Starlink dish. It is perfectly suitable for telecommuting (I use it to work remotely as a network engineer), but you may experience brief interruptions on occasion if the available satellite flies below the tree tops. Mobile phone coverage is spotty. Check-in times: before dark - it'll be quite difficult to navigate the driveway in the dark Check-out times: flexible The only times check-in/out would be limited is when other boondockers have a reservation. Suggested Local Attractions: - Richmond, VA - Hanover, VA - Numerous historical sites - Numerous Civil War sites - Williamsburg, VA (60 min drive) - Colonial Williamsburg - Jamestown Settlement - Kings Dominion Amusement Park - Mount Vernon (2-hour drive) - Washington, DC (2-hour drive) - Monticello (1 1/4 hour drive) ############################################# Harvest Hosts has for years refused to provide a complete overview of the amenities and details so we have added them to the description: Profile last updated: June 23, 2023 Booking window: 21 days Motorhomes: Up to 35 feet Trailers: Up to 25 feet* 5th Wheels: Up to 30 feet* * We only restrict the length due some tight turns. It really depends on how comfortable you are maneuvering your trailer or 5th wheel whether our location is suitable. We've had 35' fifth wheels with no problem and shorter trailers that had difficulty. Smoking allowed: No (including in your RV) Separate tow vehicle parking: Yes Tow vehicle parking next to RV: Yes Wifi: Yes (suitable for remote work) Mobile phone coverage: some, depending on your carrier and equipment RV dump station: No Campfire ring provided: No Off leash area for pets: No Electricity available: No Water available: Yes (HH labels "water available" as a hookup. We do not have a hookup.) Water hookup: No Generators allowed: Yes Outdoor cooking allowed: Yes Slide outs allowed: Yes Pets allowed: No (except 100% indoor pets) Tire inflation: Yes ############################################# Since Harvest hosts does not provide formatting for House Rules we have copied them here for a better overview: * Absolutely no smoking on the property. This includes inside your RV. * Amplified devices (radios, TVs, etc.) may not be audible outside of the RV. * Generator sound limited to 60 decibels. * Generator (60 decibel limit) Check-in times: before dark - it'll be quite difficult to navigate the driveway in the dark Check-out times: flexible #############################################

Location

Access Road Conditions: From the paved road it's a couple of hundred yards of fairly well-maintained gravel road. Driveway is gravel also. Turns can accommodate up to 30' trailers and 35' motorhomes, assuming you're comfortable navigating tight turns. See the photos and the aerial view to get an idea of the turns. IMPORTANT: Take the (gravel) driveway CLOCKWISE to avoid getting stuck in the turn. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Depending on the combined length you can park the tow(ed) vehicle with the RV. Otherwise you can park elsewhere on the property (<100' away). Due to the relatively tight turns in the driveway we recommend that you unhook your toad or dolly right after turning into the driveway.

We had a wonderful quiet night in a nice area between the trees. Had a long and interesting conversation with the host about almost everything. We recommend this host!

We were just passing through. Our host gave us a good recommandation to fill up our propane tank (30 pounds) which was already at 1/4 left after 4 nights of heating below freezing point.

The host is very kind and personable. He went out of his way to help us so many times. The spot is in the forest, it feels very nice like you are in nature or a national park. There is no shortage of things to do around this spot, many historic places nearby.

We were able to bring our 32 ft motor home into this peaceful, relaxing setting in the woods. Our host was delightful, interesting and shared a lot of information about Rving with us. Excellent communication and detailed instructions. We wish to come back.
