What a special place to stay and Boondock. This couple and their volunteers have huge hearts and it shows. Lovely grounds for over 160 animals who needed someone to step up and make their life count. So grateful I got to stay and get a tour. Well done everyone! Donate if you can. 💜👍🏼🐾
Lovely place in the country. I really enjoyed following the host around the animal sanctuary and learning about all her little critters. Nice big space to pull in and turn around.
Awesome place that really cares about animals. I would stay again if travelling that way.
A last minute change required a same day request. BpdebiG quickly accommodated us. The location was perfect for our needs and they were very accommodating hosts. The animal sanctuary is a fascinating operation, worth a donation. The other part not enough of us comment on is the Boondockers Welcome community. Two other families were staying here while we were there. Perfect strangers who couldn't have been friendlier.
Our first experience with boondockers welcomed and it was great! She is a great host and hard working lady. She keeps and cares a lot of animals and the site is super spacious. Will return soon. Thanks!!!
Our travel plans changed we contacted her the night before and she welcomed us. Fascinating to see all the good she is doing for animals she has. We enjoyed stay and look forward to another visit.
The space was beautiful. We got to walk our cats and introduce them to pigs for the first time. And the wifi was a huge relief. Someone on the land helped me park and setup and checked in on us regularly - but not too much. Great experience
This location was awesome! Had a great stay and the hosts were amazing and made us feel very welcome. Such a great cause to donate too also.
It is obvious that Debi is committed to caring for her animals that nobody else wants. It is a worthy cause and I hope she continues to attact lots of boondockers.
501 c3 sanctuary that shows the love and compassionate nature of the owner. Please donate to her sanctuary if you can. Will try to stop again on return trip. The volunteers were helpful and friendly.
The place is amazing. Never in my life did i think i could see so many happy well cared for animals all in one place. And to think of the horrific conditions most of these animals lived through prior to being rescued by the lady who owns and operates this home. We are extremely blessed that we were able to stay here and hope to come back again one day. If you ever want to donate to a great cause, please consider here as she could definitely use the help. ment to stay longer, but really missed my kids. well worth the donation. :)
Country setting in beautiful green south carolina. Within the hour I got there there were tornado warnings in the area and the host was kind enough to let us go inside her home for shelter. A stormy week but other than rain it all missed us.
This was my first boondocking stay and it was wonderful! The animal sanctuary was a relaxing location and Debbi was welcoming, helpful and available if anyone needed anything. Internet, power and water were available as well as a site for a big bonfire. She had a fenced dog run and it was a short beautiful walk to the lake.
The hosts were very nice. If you are an animal lover, there are many bonuses to visiting this place. Very peaceful and quiet with some interesting places to visit nearby. Highly recommended. We will be back someday.
This place was awesome. Plenty of farm animals to see. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. 10 minute drive for gas or propane refills. These folks are doing a great job of rescuing these animals any donations to their cause would go to great use
Very nice owners with a great cause.
Thank you for the stay and hospitality.
Gorgeous location wonderful Hostess this stay was fabulous and the Wi-Fi was 150 megabit speed, unbelievable In the Backwoods. Highly recommended.
Being an animal lover myself, I’m happy to meet another animal lover. This animal lover, Sanctuary at the Lake, takes care of many different animals and making them feel safe, well cared for and loved. All the animals have their own sad, heart breaking and some, horrific lives from where they came from. I’m so happy and great full for all these animals now having a better home to live in the, Animal Santuaruy at the Lake.
It is such a gift for me to be able to spend time in animal sanctuaries and such a blessing that owners like Debi have figured how how to manage them. No small feat and hundreds of animals benefit tremendously. Debi was generous with her time and enthusiastic to share her knowledge. It was a pleasure staying there.
