Rockey's Roost is situated on an 8 acre hay farm 5 miles from historic downtown Prosser with easy access to the 14-mile Lower Yakima Valley Pathway which is part of the Rails-to-Trails system. When Western Washington is clear, there is a beautiful view of Mt Adams and Mt Rainier.
No smoking and no wood/charcoal fires. This is the high desert and my home is cedar sided. Wildfires are easily set. Please respect the safety of my community. You may use propane fire rings in the yard on the opposite side of the pond from the house.
There is a fenced-in yard where you can let your dog off leash. Please pick up after your pet. If your dog is a cat killer, please be sure to keep them on leash as I do have farm cats.
If you want to use electric or water, you will need a 50 foot extension cord and/or hose. The connections are not right next to the parking spot. The water is filtered well water, not city water.
There is a dump site for your RV waste at the WSDOT Prosser safety rest area, approximately 5 miles from Rockey's Roost.
I am on a paved country road with a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. You will need to be able to navigate around the circle, which I do quite easily towing my 20-ft travel trailer with my 16-ft SUV. My friend has driven around the circle in his 30-ft motorhome. The spot is on the circle along the fence between my front yard and my farmland. Please don't drive on the lawn in order to preserve my irrigation system.
The spot is long enough to park the tow vehicle with the trailer. If you can navigate the circle, you'll have plenty of room to park.
I'm often spontaneous with my own travels. Feel free to ask about specific dates you are interested in.

We had a great time staying overnight with Rockey. The location is really beautiful, with perfect sunsets, really close to the highway. Highly recommended !
Very friendly and accommodating host. Great communication. Quiet relaxing night. Thanks!
Rocket was an excellent host! Beautiful area in Washington to visit. I wish we could stay longer but we're on the tail end of 16 days on the road! Highly recommend this host!
Rockey was an awesome host and has a great location with views of Mt Adams and Mt Rainier. We had mechanical trouble with our truck and had to extend our stay by a day to get it fixed. Rockey was gracious and accommodated us.
Our hostess responded rapidly and received us promptly. Even advised and gave information where to go. Thank you so much for an enjoy full afternoon at Prosser.
The host was very welcoming, came out to greet me and stayed awhile for delightful conversation. The property is close to the town, but feels very rural, quiet at night (except for a noisy toad!). Highly recommend this stay.
What a peaceful, beautiful place! My host was delightful and gave me the best recommendations for breakfast and Pastries. Delightful stay.
Our first BW visit and it turned out great! What a nice place to stay for a couple of days! Roshelle responds quickly and gave clear instructions for finding her and for parking. Came out to welcome us and to answer any questions we might have. We were in the area for a couple of days to do some wine tasting at local wineries, and Roshelle gave us a few suggestions. She even gave us a discount card for a winery where she works...DavenLore Winery up in the hills and we do recommend making a stop there — it’s off the beaten path but a nice place to spend the afternoon. On the location side of things: Quiet road, beautiful scenery -- Mt. Adams from the RV window and Horse Heaven Hills in the not-too-far distance. Our dogs loved the wide open space and our younger pup enjoyed being able to run around. (Our 12 yr old dog just enjoyed the grass and the sunshine.) Location is good -- just a few miles from the town of Prosser and convenient to wineries in the area. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.
Our welcome when we arrived at Rockey's Roost was delightful. And the view from our RV was breathtaking. The town of Prosser is fun to visit, and the surrounding area is great for biking - lots of small roads to choose from. Next time we'll have to concentrate more on the local wineries - they are everywhere. Our stay here was all-around wonderful. Thank you.
What a gracious hostess and beautiful setting. This was pur first boondocking experience. Our host was awesome, offering breakfast ideas. Our dog loved the wide open space and was allowed to run. Thank you for such a peaceful, relaxing and stunning start to our trip!
We wanted to get out of town for the New Year weekend. We loved our stay at "Rockey's Roost." It's tough to travel anywhere right now so it was great to have a place to visit and unwind and recommendations of what there was to do. We mostly hung out and enjoyed a very fun New Year's Eve around the fire with our host. The view out the windshield in the morning watching the sun rise in the morning fog was beautiful. Prosser is a neat little town and we will be back for more wine tasting! Perfect restful way to start a new year.
