House Rules

No smoking and no wood/charcoal fires. This is the high desert and my home is cedar-sided. Wildfires are easily set. Please respect the safety of my community. You may use propane fire rings in the grass area next to the camp spot. Please pick up after your pet. If your dog is a cat killer, please be sure to keep them on leash as I do have farm cats. If you want to use electric or water, you will need a 50 foot extension cord and/or hose. The connections are NOT right next to the parking spot. The electric is 15 amp. The water is filtered well water, not city water. Water is not available October through April to avoid frozen pipes. There is a dump site for your RV waste at the WSDOT Prosser safety rest area, approximately 5 miles from Rockey's Roost.

Location

Access Road Conditions: I am on a paved country road with a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. You will need to navigate around the circle, which I do quite easily towing my 20-ft travel trailer with my 16-ft SUV. My friend has driven around the circle in his 30-ft motorhome. The spot is on the circle along the fence between my front yard and my farmland. Park by the small "Welcome to Camp" sign. Please don't drive on the lawn in order to preserve my irrigation system. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: The spot is long enough to park the tow vehicle with the camper. If you can navigate the circle, you'll have plenty of room to park.

Pacific Northwest Camper Details: Busy professional that loves getting away from work by exploring the Pacific Northwest. I love meeting new people and experiencing new places. Home Town: Prosser is the birthplace of Washington wine. The town is home to approximately 7,000 people. We have 30 wineries, two breweries, and two marijuana stores. If you can't be happy in Prosser, you can't be happy anywhere. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Wineries. They always know everything about the area they are in and are a great place to meet other travelers. Skills or Expertise to Share: I'm a foodie that loves wine (or I'm a wino that loves food, some days I'm not sure which) and I'm happy to talk about either. Getting in to kayaking and hiking and would like to learn about your favorite places.

We were in town for the Prosser Hot Air Balloon Rally. Rockey’s Roost was perfect. nice gravel parking with a lush green grass area adjacent. This is a peaceful location, not much road noise, and beautiful views of the Horse Heaven Hills. Water and power available for a fee, which was appreciated. There are several wineries close by. Enjoyed our stay very much.
