We have a large private area in the back of our property with no hookups and no road or driveway access. We have one spot in our front yard that has access to hook ups but no privacy. Our road is fairly busy, so there is some road noise in the front spot as well. We have the listed amenities and a huge (1.25 acres) back yard to play in. There are quaint local parks close to us. One is 1/4 mile north of us with playground equipment, farm animals and walking trails. The other is 1 1/2 miles south of us and has fishing, boat rental and a disc golf course. We are minutes away from the The Dunes National Park on Lake Michigan and about 60 miles from Chicago. We are also close to wineries and areas of interest in southern Michigan.
Length of stay and donation are negotiable. We are in the middle of a bus conversion, so, if you can pitch in at all on our project, your help is welcome. But if you want to pull in, plug in and hook in for a night or two, we are happy to have you as a guest, no obligations. We are "early to bed, early to rise". We do have neighbors, so we ask for respect and courtesy for them.
We have a paved driveway off of a main road, but you will have to back out. The entrance is on a slight incline and has a ditch on either side, so bigger rigs are a challenge. Our driveway is roughly 100 feet long and there are some low hanging branches. There are 2 grassy spots in the back of the property (and some low branches), but there is not a driveway/road to get there, and there is a slight hill. The front spot (with the hook up) is not a pull through, it is the yard in front of our house as pictured. The spot is right in our driveway/front yard next to the house, so not a private spot.
The Indiana Dunes National Park, Chicago, local vineyards and breweries.
We had a wonderful short stop over at Adams Acre. Our hosts were welcoming and kind and we really enjoyed learning about their bus conversion. The kiddos loved having space to run and checking out the garden. Thanks again!
We had the pleasure to stay 3 nights. The first night we were in the back of the house with no hookups, tucked between the trees and shrubs. There was silence! The next two nights we were hooked up to the power in front of the house. The road did not bother us.
The hosts are a very nice couple with ambitions to enter RV life. Thanks for the tour!
We enjoyed our stay.
Adams' Acre is a lovely oasis. Our hosts were warm and offered any assistance we may need. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay. It was a perfect private spot that allowed us some quiet time. Very gracious hosts - thank you!
Enjoyed a few nights here! The hosts were extremely friendly, even keeping me posted on some bad weather conditions. Really loved getting to see the bus and talk about some of the plans for it! Cute little town and close to the Dunes National Park or a couple of state parks to swim and hang out.
It was a beautiful day to stay here. The hosts were fantastic, and showed me the school bus they’re converting into an RV! So look for it, or you might pass them like I did! Would definitely stay again!
What a wonderful spot this was to rest and relax for the week. We slept like babies.
Saw a deer and a family of baby turkeys.
The hosts were super kind and inviting and we were pleased to have met them.
Best wishes on the bus!
We enjoyed meeting some fellow skoolie folks! We had fun touring their bus and spent a lovely evening with our hosts. Great stay!
Thanks for welcoming me upon arrival. I had a relaxing stay with time to see some sights. Great host and location
BlueBoxerBusLife were incredibly kind and helpful. The site was secluded within the trees - very nice.
We had a great stay here. Our hosts were just lovely and so accommodating. We enjoyed the tour of their bus conversion.
We chose to park our camper near their home because we needed 15amp electric. They also offered us a spot in their “back forty” which looked inviting.
Thank you again for a great place to put our camper!
The hosts at Adams Acre were so nice. They have a great place that is quiet and secluded. They are renovating a 3/4 bus and it was fabulous to see the process and the ingenuity they are using to renovate this bus. I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent people as a host an excellent location! They have a great project going on with a yellow school bus and doing it all themselves! Looks like they’re a couple years from retiring but they’re doing all the right things. You get a choice of water and electric or a lot of privacy out in the back South 40 I chose the south 40 very peaceful very serene and very quiet great when you have a dog and they are wonderful.
A shout out to this couple!!!
U2 ROCK in my book! When I said goodbye they said don’t be a stranger!
