We are on a fairly quiet rural road. We have a huge front area and a large driveway that used to be home to semi trucks and trailers. We also have a side area for smaller rigs. We have a very level, concrete parking pad, to use in a pinch. Suggested Local Attractions:We are close to Minneapolis (45 miles), Hinckley Casino (30 miles) and Duluth (100 miles). We are across the road from 2 large lakes with access close by. Great for fishing and kayaking. Nearby Cambridge has many shops including Walmart, Target, Fleet Farm and Cub Foods. Many options for dining out as well. We have a large fire pit area and welcome all our guests to join us on our patio for food and refreshments. One of us used to be a chef and the other has been a home cook and foodie for many years. The griddle and grill are always on!

Retired with lots of room! Details: I retired, earlier than expected, with lots of room to spare. I have ideas about traveling some but will be home doing projects too. I am between Minneapolis and Hinckley with plenty of places to explore close by. There is a very short walk to a lake, a public access 1 mile away and lots of area to bike. Home Town: I am from St Louis Park, MN. I have lived in this home in Stanchfield for 23 years, have raised our two boys (and their assorted friends) here and enjoy their frequent visits. Favorite Boondocking Locations: So far I have not had the pleasure of traveling farther than a few places here in MN. My favorite so far is a small lake in Cohasset, MN. Skills or Expertise to Share I have a medical background and love all kinds of projects. Always puttering with something, love entertaining, cooking and have a large fire pit I enjoy using as much as possible.

The hosts were very courteous and accommodating. They offered to make us dinner and have a bon fire.

The welcome and evening were terrific. Darla was so gracious- she made terrific gluten free pizza for us and shared drinks while enjoying a relaxing evening by the fire. It was a perfect stay!

I was stressing about my trip to Minneapolis for my Polka Dot Powerhouse Celebration because I was having trouble finding a place to park our camper while we spent 4 nights at the Marriott. Then I decided to try Boondockers Welcome and found What A Rush and saw that the maximum stay was 5 nights. I put in a request for 5 nights explaining that we would drop the trailer off on Wednesday, plug it in to keep the fridge cold and head back to Minneapolis and return on Sunday and spend the night before getting back on the road. When we dropped the camper off, Darla came out to show us where to park it and plug it in and then let us know she'd be preparing dinner for us so we could get to know each other. What a beautiful place. When we got back on Sunday afternoon, it was a beautiful sunny afternoon and we enjoyed just sitting outdoors while Darla was working. We had wonderful dinner with Darla and Terry and she packed us leftovers for an easy meal another day. I'm now looking forward to seeing them again when I come to Polka Dot Powerhouse Celebration in October 2025!

Really enjoyed my stay here. Darla and Terry were great hosts and I enjoyed getting to know them. They invited me to dinner, had a fire later that evening. I would stay here again if I'm in the area.

Darla and Terry were over-the-top wonderful hosts for our entire 2 day stay. Beautiful country setting….very nice place to walk across the road next to beautiful Rush Lake. Will look forward to staying again next summer when we come back to this area!
