UPDATE!! As of 4/12/2024, we are new beekeepers and proud stewards of the pollinating world. Although your camp site is not in the immediate flight zone of our colony, there will be honey bees here and there. If you have an allergy to bee stings, we suggest careful consideration before requesting a stay. If you are allergic we would require you to have an Epi pen in case of an event. ************* We have Beautiful 5 wooded acres with lots of cool amenities. We have fair amount of trails both gravel and pine needle. Most of our woods are beautiful pines. We have campfire accessories throughout the property. Firewood may or may not be available depending on stock. We usually have 5 deer 🦌 roaming the property. We join up to about 30 wooded acres total. Tons of wildlife and birds. Pets should be in after dusk, because certain times of the year, we do have some coyotes. We have 1 rooster (Foghorn) who might wake you up prior to your desired expectations. We also have 13 hens, 2 ducks, and 1 rabbit. We love to let the kids visit the chickens and rabbit, but we ask that you do not feed them.... (the animals, not your kids)..... certain foods can be harmful. We have 2 schnauzers... Zoey is 13 and Schautzy is 4... they bark like crazy when they meet you but they are very friendly. If you have dogs, please keep them leashed, at least until all dogs have become acquainted. Kim's father Bobby lives with us. He is an 81 year old farmer who retired in 2023. He is our proud groundskeeper now, and very approachable. Beware of long-winded conversations. we have a camping supply store PETE'S CAMPING within 2 miles with anything you might need including service center. Suggested Local Attractions:The Blue Water Bridge to Canada The St Clair river with 1000 foot freighters Historic downtown Port Huron (the boyhood home of Thomas Edison) Quaint shops, bistros, bars, and restaurants abound. In the summer there is a farmers market and craft show on weekends Our property is 5 minutes or less from all of these amenities

House Rules

We just ask for common sense respect. We don’t care WHAT you smoke, but if it has a “butt” throw it in the fire. Same goes for gum, etc. No collecting firewood without being instructed, and no fires on windy nights depending on the style of your ring. Alcohol is fine For the safety of your family we ask that young Children be attended on walks around the property. We have chickens and roosters on the property. sometimes they free range. We ask that pets be leashed if they might be tempted to chase our chickens. The 2 roosters can be curious, so be aware during trail hikes, and especially when approaching the hen house and pen area. We will soon have honeybees, so if you have allergies, please consider this when choosing us as a host site.

Location

Access Road Conditions: All campers of most any size can make a 360 degree turn in our large parking area which is asphalt millings. When entering our driveway with large rigs, it is essential that you swing wide to enter the driveway. Do not hesitate to hold up traffic so you have time to negotiate your turn. The driveway is lined with pines that are about 10' apart. We keep them trimmed back, but there is the possibility that a branch could portentially swipe your rig... those are all soft white pines. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Plenty of parking for tow vehicles at the main residence area

We stayed in the front part of the driveway, so we could connect to the 30 amp service, but they also have a very nice area in the back that is in a more secluded area with walking trails. Great hosts, very friendly and helpful.

Really enjoyed our stay at Lowe Lodge. We stayed in our 40 foot fifth wheel. No hookups but was very convenient for activities in Port Huron area. Access off of the main road was very tight and extreme caution needs to be taken when pulling in and out. The owners made our stay extremely welcome and we would highly recommend anyone stay here. I think the owners very much. Mike and Carolyn
