Our little slice of heaven is located just off old Route 66. We are about 10-15 minutes from I-55 and I-70. Paved roads to our driveway. The driveway is a nice rock drive. There are two small hills. The trees are trimmed. We pull a 36 foot 5th wheel (13' tall) with a long bed quad cab with no issues. Driveway access in the winter is weather permitting. Please arrive before dark.
Next to the rig
We do last minute weekend trips so this location is unavailable when we are gone. Please check with us.
St. Louis is about 30 minutes away.
The Great River Road at National Scenic Byway starts in Hartford, IL to Grafton, IL.
Had a great stay and enjoyed a nice walk and visit with the hosts. Very accommodating and helpful.
Aimless Wanderers are such thoughtful hosts who go out of their way to make you feel welcome! Beautiful drive in and easy, level parking with amenities! Our kids had. a blast with their sweet Golden Retriever Gracie while we enjoyed chatting on the porch with them. Highly recommended!
I give this location 5 stars. The hosts were really easy to deal with and very enjoyable to talk to. The location was fantastic, the site was level and there was power and water. If you’re in the area this should be your spot for the night.
Very welcoming hosts. There property is beautiful quiet and peaceful. We look forward to going again.
Good communication, level site, easy access to power and water. Pet friendly and their golden retriever, Gracie was very nice to our 6 lb Josie. The hosts are super hospitable and made us feel right at home.
This was a wonderful place to stay over. We had a very enjoyable visit relaxing with our hosts. Very helpful and accomodating. Much appreciated.
This was our very first BDW stay and we chose Aimless Wanderers' home in Illinois. We took a different route than our usual because this location is not far off the interstate, down a couple of rural roads with PLENTY of room to back into a spacious, wide, and level gravel site with electric + water next to their barn. We did not visit too long that evening after plugging into 50 AMP electric. We even left our truck connected to the trailer. as we had a longer-than-usual 1st day of travel on our 1000+ mile trip. We wanted to get settled in so we passed on their invitation to take an evening walk to explore with their beautiful dog, Gracie. Maybe next time ...
Beautiful property and great hosts. Their dog, Gracie, was so cute and friendly. Our dog got along well with her. We highly recommend staying at this BOONDOCKING place. Will definitely look them up next time we are in the area.
What a great location for a wonderful stay overnight. Had a great time speaking with the host during a nice evening walk. Beautiful level site with water and electric. All guest just be ready for a great surprise and gracious offer before you depart. We loved it and they are welcome to visit us hopefully in the near future.
Welcoming hosts that provide a nice level site. Able to park our 40-foot 5th wheel without unhooking from our truck. Enjoyed good conversations on their beautiful property. It was a pleasure to be their guests.
Very nice and very quiet spot hosts were very friendly and gracious.
The hosts were so accommodating and friendly! There property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We will undoubtedly schedule future travel plans to spend a night or two with these hosts. Host took time to take a walk showing the property and sharing some of there RVing experiences. Boondocking doesn't get any better then right here with these hosts!!! Thank you so much and we will see you again!
Wonderful hosts, and a beautiful site. Very easy to park. I enjoyed spending time with the hosts. I had time to take a couple of walks with them and to meet their adorable grandson. Hosts were very helpful locating a bicycle shop and making site seeing recommendations. Thanks for the hospitality!
We had to same day request and they were very awsome to work with us. When we arrived they showed us where to park. It was an awsome flat gravel area near their barn with electric. Which saved us, because it was snowing outside one of the nights. The next day the host came and fished with us at his lake. He helped us filet the fish and his wife cooked them. We were so gracious to share dinner with them. The day it snowed the host brought out a hot sandwich with pickles and even baked us an amazing breakfast on our way out. Overly hospitable and amazing. We will always be so greatful for our stay. I highly recommend, our hosts were more than amazing.
Our hosts were great communicators in advance of our stay, and very welcoming. The setting is so peaceful, with all the conveniences. Highly recommend and hope to visit again!
We had a great stay - location is good and level - host met us and offered to bring us a breakfast- wow how neat- told us of a great place for supper- didn’t get to visit much as I would have like - left early next morning to get to grandkids- will diffidently working making another visit here
We so enjoyed our stay at White Pine Haven. Beautiful property with a great sunset view. Loved setting on the deck enjoying a good conversation with the hosts. They made us feel at home from the time we pulled up until we left.
Certainly will try to stay with them again in the future.
We absolutely loved our time at WhitePine Haven! Beautiful property! The site was great with even gravel, water, and electric. It was so peaceful and quiet. Hosts were so welcoming, friendly, and their dog, Gracie, is so loveable! We would love to stop here again in the future! Thank you for your kind hospitality and conversation!
We had a great time at this location. It’s a beautiful, peaceful property. The hosts were very kind and friendly. We loved getting to know them and hearing the history of their property. Our boys loved playing with their sweet dog too.
Glad to been able to stop in and staying overnight. The site is awesome, some may not need to set levelers down. We were heading home and been putting some long miles each day. Wife wasn't feeling good and was asleep by 6 pm. Hope to stop again and have us be more sociable. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
We had a very pleasant stay and chat. This couple went above and beyond to make sure we were settled In and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here if you are passing through. Beautiful property, Great conversation, and Delicious food! Cheers!
I knew I liked these folks when they explained their screen name "Aimless Wanderers". They enjoy driving with no particular destination and at each intersection, randomly choose anew direction!
They were fun to chat with, albeit briefly. If they'll have me, I'd love to stay with them again someday.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay with Aimlesswanderers . Quiet, safe, clean and picturesque location that is close to a an intestate. The great hosts, made us feel welcomed, which made for a relaxing night. The homemade blackberry jelly was a plus. Our hosts also provided us with a personalized overview of the area and suggested next day activities along the Mississippi river. Leveled site with easy access and electric hook up were an added bonus.
