In our driveway. Water available, but only 15 amp electric via extension. Can run fan and lights, but not coffeemaker or microwave. Relatively flat concrete driveway. large rigs being towed such as trailers and 5th wheels seem to be having trouble getting in the drive. Please be sure you can manage to back your vehicle up without hitting the house or mailbox.
No smoking on property, dogs on leash. No generators after 8 p.m. or before 9 a.m.
Paved neighborhood, 1.5 miles from I75 exit 167. Several turns, but easily made with large RV and tow car. Four night parking restriction in the neighborhood. Recently we have had visitors who had trouble backing into the driveway. Please be sure you are well versed in the way your rig handles when backing. The street is only about 20 feet wide and the turn is a 90 degree turn.
Tow vehicle may have to be on street depending on how well we get you into the drive. We will work it out, haven't lost a visitor yet.
We are generally here year-round unless traveling. We were gone a good bit during 2016 meeting boondockers at their homes. But are home now for the next several months other than three weeks in Jan-Feb, 2018 when we will be in Thailand. We will also be unavailable part of May, 2018 and from July 15 to September 20 2018
Great kayaking, beaches and other typical Florida attractions. WE love visitors and will take you for a boat ride if you have the time and inclination. Just let me know so I can reserve one. In season, I need a few days notice.
We enjoyed our two night stay. The neighborhood was quiet, and Virginia and Pauline were very welcoming and accommodating. Not only did we have lively and interesting conversations, they even took us on a delightful boat ride in Charlotte Harbor. Thank you Virginia and Pauline for your hospitality!
We were lucky enough to be able to stay with Pauline and Virginia for a few days. They welcomed us to their home, showed us their pictures of their trip to Thailand, and took us for a boat ride around Charlotte harbor. We are so glad that we have made these new friends.
This is a quiet boondocking location. Neighbours we’re extremely friendly. Our plans changed. We only stayed one night. Met only one of the GypsyWeavers and had a great conversation with P. Thanks
Very friendly ladies, who graciously let our kids take a dip in their pool on a hot day. To any future guests, it's easier to come up their street so the house is on the left - backing in on the right is harder due to a letterbox. The driveway was long enough for our 37 foot fifth wheel but only if you to disconnect.
This was our very first Boondockers Welcome experience and I can’t image it can getting any better than boondocking with Pauline & Virginia! They were so friendly and welcoming and invited us to go boating with them for a few hours the next day. It was incredible! We saw dolphins, and stingrays and enjoyed a quick swim in the harbor. Afterwards Pauline took us to a fabulous ice cream shop right on the water. Thank you for hospitality! We highly recommend and would definitely go back!
For a first experience in boondocking, we could not ask for better! Virginia and Pauline were very welcoming and made sure that we were able to visit as much as possible during our stay. They provided us with a map and took the time to explain all the great places to visit. Dominic was also very lucky...on his birthday Pauline took us on a boat tour and after she made us discover the best ice cream parlor in town !! Thank you very much to both of you for this awesome "séjour" ! :)
We really enjoyed our stay with Virginia and Pauline. It was our first boondocking experience and they set the bar pretty high. From the minute we pulled in it was a fantastic stay - we received a warm and helpful greeting that included an invitation for a bite to eat and a long chat in their beautiful home. They gave us helpful suggestions in all areas we were looking for advice in finding. They took us out for a boat ride and a tour of the harbour that topped our experiences in our winter travels. It felt like we were leaving family behind when we left and I know we'll see them again.
Many thanks for the fresh veggies (those tomatoes were the best I've ever had), the special gift, the meals, the neighbourhood tour, the boat ride, and the amazing hospitality! We hope to have many more great experiences boondocking but can't imagine they'll be like our experience in Punta Gorda. 5 Star family
Thank you for giving us a little piece of home and friendship while on the road.
We had a wonderful stsy with these two amazing women. They are so hospitable and we felt as if we had known them for years. Thank you for sharing the bounty of your veggie garden. We had such a fun time sharing Virginia's birthday with her. The weather did not cooperate enough for a boat ride but there is always next time.
GypsyWeaver hosted us for two nights during the last Easter weekend… Great people and hosts! Pauline gave us a guided tour in Punta Gorda on Saturday AM : farmers market, fishermen’s village. On Saturday evening, we had fun discussing with Virgnia and Pauline about every thing and nothing at the same time… And, suddenly, we learned about the incredible story of their amazing antique cabinet… More, we learned also about Pauline’s passion! Wouahhh!!! I wish I could tell more about… However, I prefer letting future guests to discover both by themselves in visiting Virginia and Pauline. Thanks Virginia and Paulina for your hospitality… We wish to receive you in Quebec City, Canada in a near future… Of course, my guided tour in Old Quebec City will be done in… English.. . Regards!!!
We arrived at GypsyWeaver quite whipped and they were the best!!! Their driveway is perfect for an RV. Good laughs and fun times were had over a three day period with these two wonderful women. We had a great day trip on the boat and then off to a local watering hole (that we would never have found on our own) for some giggles and drinks. We had some great conversations and felt we had met some kindred spirits. We hope to see them again in our future travels or theirs!!!!!!
We enjoyed the hospitality of GypsyWeaver. From the moment we knocked on their front door, they were interested in making our stay as comfortable as possible. The neighborhood was quiet and just a short distance from the beautiful Peace River. We would definitely hope to stay with them again if we are in the area.
Warm welcome upon arrival. Nice quiet neighborhood. Great boat ride and city tour. Enjoyed our stay very much.
We stayed here a night enroute to the everglades. We enjoyed our visit with P and were sorry to miss meeting V. Hope you made it home and are doing well, V. Thanks - hope our paths cross again. Easy to find and easy to park. Quiet neighbourhood.
Ladies and dogs all made me feel right at home. Their parking spot and their little corner of Florida are very comfortable places to relax. I've already added them to my GPS address book :)
Stayed here for 2 nights. Great couple of ladies who greeted us upon arrival and gave us great recommendations of local offerings. Loved visiting with them and meeting their sweet "fur babies". They were not feeling great but hosted us anyway. Quiet neighborhood and easy to get from 75. So glad we met them!
These two GypsyWeavers invited me to dinner the moment I arrived. (I was traveling alone that day)
They were more than hospitable & thoughtful!
Their neighbourhood is peaceful and easy to find.
Now I just hope the gals get a chance to be on the receiving end of Boondocking hospitality for a change!
We were two days guests of Paulina and Virginia. We had everything we needed, but especially the great hospitality of friends.
Giovanna and Paolo
Gypsyweavers are warm, friendly hosts. We immediately felt at home, but never smothered. We spent 2 nights in their level, wide driveway with power and an offer of water hookup. The neighbourhood was extremely quiet and very friendly.
We spent some wonderful social time with P&V (even being invited in for homemade almond rocca), and had plenty of private time. We all biked around the neighbourhood together, giving us an insider's view of where we were staying. We met friends and neighbours and were made to feel completely welcome.
Punta Gorda and area have much to offer; this boondocking spot is close, but without any hustle bustle of the nearby tourist-friendly spots.
We look forward to returning.
We had a wonderful time with Virginia and Pauline who are very interesting and enthousiasts hosts.
We spent two days with this couple. They were indeed a pleasure they couldn't do enough for us, and it turned out that we had a lot in common. We enjoyed their company and shared a couple glasses of wine and good conversation. Thank you both. Bill/ Stevie
I just spent a few days with these wonderful women, and their charming cats and dogs. I arrived as a stranger and felt I was with old friends by the end of the visit. I never wanted to leave, I can't say enough about them.
We recently stayed three nights with these very friendly ladies. They were more than just welcoming. We had a great time getting to know them and sharing Rving experiences. They gave great advice on beaches in the area as well as other things to do. One of them even came along as our tour guide for the day! we can certainly recommend them and will visit again when in the area.
These gals are the greatest - we stayed two nights and totally enjoyed ourselves. Great hospitality and super conversation with lots of laughs on night one and on night two they let us relax on our own. They told us about the area and directed us (actually drove us around) to several nearby free kayak launch sites both on the Peace River and on the Gulf. We chose one and had a great paddle through the mangroves to the beach with a dolphin swimming right beside us. We look forward to seeing the GypsyWeavers again and hope they'll be able to let us return the favor and visit us in Ontario.
