This is a great place to spend the night, it was unfortunate that Keith was out of town so we did not get to meet, it was great to have a concrete pad to park on, would definitely stop again if passing thru.
Level concrete pad, perfect for an overnight. I didn't get to meet the host, but talked on the phone, a great guy!
Once again, our stay was short. However, the same graciousness we received the 1st visit was overflowing. K was not far from the long driveway to meet us at our ETA. He guided us to the designated spot to set up or coach.
We enjoyed assisting in installing strip lights to his dually truck. Not long after our arrival, we were greeted by the rest of the family.
After many miles of travel, we needed a couple of days of repose. Again, thank you KT & BJ for your hospitality.
I forgot to mention---my wife baked cowboy cookies "SWEET" to share. God willing, D & D will return. Blessings
We truly enjoyed our stay and short visit with Host! Thanks for the eggs! It was a paved site, we are short so did not have to unhook. It was too wet to stay in the back away from the highway. We did not mind at all my fan drowns out whatever nighttime road noise there was. Hope to come back next year!
The hosts were awesome people and lots of level parking! The chickens and ducks were pretty cool too! I would stay again in a heartbeat!
Very accommodating and gracious host. Very nice setting with lots of open space to play ball with our pup -- she loved that! Their chickens, ducks, and rooster are entertaining and produce pretty eggs of different sizes and colors. The property is next to a well traveled road -- hubby slept great; I woke up a couple of times from the semis, but I am a pretty lite sleeper.
This property is very nice! 4 acres with lots of spots for any size of rig, generators are allowed & possibly hookups. He greeted us & showed where to park. Very solid ground, with beautiful acreage. Keith is a great host and bought us some fresh eggs last night for breakfast. Him & his wife have some chickens & ducks & an adopted cat. We were there only 1 nite, but will keep this on our radar if we come back this way. We did have good AT&T cell, internet & tv. Very relaxing & a great place to chill for a while! Our only regret is we did not get to meet his wife, she was working. Some shopping & restaurants are nearby. If you are near Monroe, LA and need a place to relax--this is it. Thanks again KT & BJ's Homestead! Eula Roland
This was a great place to stop and rest on our way through Louisiana. The host was very accommodating, and we enjoyed our time we spent chatting with him. This is a old car dealership, with a large, level concrete lot to park on. It was perfect, we would definitely stay here again.
Nice over night stop. Easy access and the fresh eggs are a bonus. Super nice hosts.
Would recommend this spot. Kind hosts and fresh eggs to boot. Also they own a smart car and I always enjoy talking about the little cars.
Safe travels everyone!
Once again, we have been blessed with our stay at KT & BJs Homestead for the 2.5 days of our stay. There was clear communication during the acceptance process; especially prior to arrival. This allowed us to have specific guidelines on where to park our Class A coach, following BDW and host protocol and awareness of arrival time.
KT & BJ are very special folks. They are gracious, kind, loving, sincere, caring and endearing. They opened their home and family to us. We feel a part of their extended family. We shared meals and quality time together. The hamburgers were scrumptious. We talked about our travels and experiences of being RVers. My wife, Donna and I are returning as God allows the opportunity to do so. We are overwhelmed by their warmth and thoughtfulness. Thank you KT & BJ and give our loving regards to the rest of the crew. We miss you already and longing to come back soon.
Great host, great level parking with easy access.
Enjoyed visiting with the host and the eggs were delicious.
We stayed overnight in our 40ft Class A at KT & BJ's Homestead.
The property itself is pretty big, plenty of room to turn around and to park.
Though the hosts are often on the road, we were lucky they were back a few hours after we arrived.
We were kindly invited to get a bite to eat with them, and have some beers. Unfortunately we had to run to the store for some errands.
The next morning however, we got our rig stuck in the mud on the far side of the property, where the soil isn't packed as dense as the area near the shop. KT & BJ to the rescue, and with 2 big Dually's our rig was out in record time.
We had a lot of laughs, and KT's now a real "Diesel Pusher" ;-)
So do stop by to spend the night if you're coming through, and create your own adventure with KT & BJ. Park safe on the concrete out front, or a little more quiet at the back, or be brave and park on the far side of the property :-)
Hope to see you guys on the road some time, and we'll bring the beers!
The place was as described. Our hosts, unfortunately, were away so we were not able to meet them but seemed super friendly via text. A great place to spend the night. We would definitely request to stay here again.
It was a great stop. Keith was friendly and fun to talk with. We would definitely stop again on our way through.
A very nice place to stop to break up our trip to NOLA from AR. Our host was very friendly and we had a nice chat even though it was a short stay. Our little one loved seeing and feeding the chickens. Not to mention we were giving some fresh eggs right from the coop! Thanks for hosting us!
Great people & a great little place. I mean where else can you stay for free & get fresh eggs daily. Warm wonderful folks. Everything you need is close by as well.
Can't say enough about the host.
Excellent communication before and during our stay. Very warm, welcoming and generous. Provided us with delicious farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed our conversations and wonderful southern hospitality. A great stop if you’re in this neck of the woods!
