We love our beautiful area of Oklahoma. We are in the Ouachita Mountains. Just minutes from the Talimena Scenic Byway. The Ouachita National Forest is nearby with hiking trails, four wheeler trails, and really great motorcycle riding roads. We are happy to share our place with others. Our place is very much off the beaten path. Beautiful night sky, huge trees, fresh air, with only the sounds of nature. Wildlife here includes deer, turkey, bald eagles, and known to be in the area - black bear. We have never been bothered by any of them. Right now we have only one just started with the concept of Boondockers Welcome. If this is a positive experience we can add spaces and later put in electric but at this time we can just offer this safe spot on our little piece of Heaven. Suggested Local Attractions:Talimena Scenic Byway, Winding Stair National Forest, Choctaw Indian Nation Headquarters, Robbers Cave State Park, Sardis Lake State Park, Wister Lake State Park. There is also a golf course 30 miles away.

Location

Access Road Conditions: Two miles off of a state highway on hard surfaced county road. It is tree shaded but our tall Fifth wheel travels it easily. The only exciting point is a one lane bridge over a creek. There are no sides on this bridge but it is not a high bridge. The driveway at our place is easily entered and there is plenty of room to turn around. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Park right next to RV

Mills Mountain Hideaway Details: We are a newlywed couple but we are friends from long ago. John bought this great place in Oklahoma a few years ago. He is a longtime RVer. He is retired and knowledgeable about most everything in the area. LaVonna is semi retired though has a homebased Wellness Business. We are non smokers and not party people. We both love our beautiful area of Oklahoma. We are in the Ouachita Mountains. Just minutes from the Talimena Scenic Byway. The Ouachita National Forest is nearby with hiking trails, four wheeler trails, and really great motorcycle riding roads. We are happy to share our place with others. Home Town: The closest town is Talihina, Oklahoma

John & LaVonna were wonderful to visit with. John guided us to a nice flat spot under the trees. Follow their directions to the place! We came in the other way from Wister and it was a long and sketchy road.

Wonderful boondocker experience. Hosts met us at the front gate and gave us options where to park, no guessing, that was great! Offered electric if needed and we’re happy to share ideas for local attractions. We took their advice and did the Winding Stair road Robbers Cave, and Wister Dam. John & LaVonna were the friendliest most down to earth people. Very accommodating. Enjoyed their company in the evening chatting around the fire pit. Would definitely stay again if in the area! Off the beaten path but worth the drive. Quiet nights.

John and LaVonna were very welcoming and helpful. we had problems with our water pump and John was quick to help. The parking area was level easy to access. The drive to get there was a little difficult but we made it just fine. We stayed two nights and while there we drove the Talimena Scenic Byway and visited Cedar Lake. In the evening we enjoyed visiting with John and LaVonna out under the stars. Great visit!

The hosts were wonderful. This place was very quiet and peaceful. Great views all around and easy access in all directions for hiking at state parks.
