Wild horses in area.
Host provided great directions to ensure we didn’t get lost due to construction. Area to park was huge. Minor freeway noise. Great place to see the stars.
onebser provided accurate directions to his lot taking into consideration the construction in progress nearby. We slept well and felt safe with no one else around. There is road noise from I-80 and train tracks further away. We are thankful to onebser for hosting us on his property and sorry we didn't get to meet him.
Didn’t get to meet our host. However, he was responsive and his business was in a quiet area. A little more industrial than we expected, but happy to have the accommodation.
Very cordial and the spot was easy to maneuver around. The host visited me on arrival and was very helpful with local info and for my Yellowstone trip.
If you want alone, here is the place. Out of the way commercial parking. And commercial meaning old business buildings. Lots of "Stuff" laying around. But the parking was level and plenty of room for big rigs to turn around. The road noise from the freeway is pretty loud during the day, but at night quiets down a lot. Never did hear the train go by, but it is a ways off. We were the only ones here, so it was nice and private. Didn't meet the host but he communicated with us via email. He always responded right away. Thank you for letting us stay. We will look you up again when we come thru here next time.
Got there later than planned due to a horrific rain/wind storm, but had no trouble finding the place. Slept well with the trains lulling us to sleep. Didn't get to talk to our host till morning since our phones weren't working well. Had a nice visit with him in the morning. Offered to tell us where we could dump and get water. It was a good place to stay on our way west to California.
This location is very close to the I80 Exits about 3 miles on the Western edge of the town of Green River. I enjoyed an ~6 hour day-trip South to the beautiful Flaming Gorge which is mostly in Utah. I did the loop by going down the Westside on Rte 520 to Manila, Utah then Rte 44 around the Southern edge, then I returned on the Eastside on Rte 191 to I80. I wish that I had left earlier in the day. I did not meet the owner but he was very nice to allow me to stay while he was away & we communicate several times my text.
If I was passing through this area again, I would definitely visit here again.
Onebser's spot was conveniently located just off the highway at the end of a road. It was secluded and we felt safe. There was a little highway noise and we could hear the trains roll past but it was otherwise peaceful. We didn't get a chance to meet with our host but they were more than helpful when asked questions. We would gladly use them again.
The location was out of the way which was nice. Definitely didn’t have to worry about anyone coming around. The road noise helped keep our kids asleep and there is a train track in the background which was quite entertaining for us. The host was very kind and we would definitely stop over there again.
Bert was very helpful and met us at the city dump station and directed us to spot. We did have a visit from the Sheriff. They were very nice and said it was okay for us to stay a night. Plenty of room for our 41' 5th wheel and HDT.
Host was responsive and accommodating. He made sure we had everything we needed for the night and offered plenty of good info on local resources available. Highly recommend this spot if passing through WY (and there looks like plenty of things to check out in town, if you have extra time).
The site is an unused industrial location on the outskirts of town. Ignoring the close by freeway traffic, it is quiet with no one to bother us. I would stay here again if I was passing through Wyoming.
This was an easy stopover off of I-80 in Wyoming. Our host responded quickly and gave precise directions. We saw him briefly in the morning.
There is some road noise from the highway, but that is to be expected and didn’t keep us awake.
Thank you for hosting us!
I appreciate the opportunity to get some rest with an easy in and off from the highway
Easy access from the interstate, easy pull through set up....we were able to park in a good level spot without unhooking our trailer/dolly. It is in a light industrial area close to the freeway and a train track, but it was really very quiet. We did not get to meet our host, but he responded very quickly to our initial request and followed up with great directions. We would definitely request to stay here when we pass this way again.
We pulled in a bit after 1:00 PM and let Bert know we had arrived. He showed up a couple of hours to greet us, give us suggestions and visit for a few minutes. What a great guy!
Be sure you use Berts directions to arrive. We visited the city dump where we emptied our tanks before arriving and there’s an overpass that’s 13’3” when using google maps from the dump. We were a bit unsure of the height of the RV in the moment so we decided to turn around and take a different route.
There’s a County Park close to the boondocking spot that has picnic tables, access to the river and best of all dumpsters!! There’s also a good sized dumpster at the Maverick on the corner.
Right off the interstate with a great view of the hills. Down town near by for food or gas.
Nice spot close to the river, I walked to it a few times. Also just 15 min from the one side of flaming gorge. Green river and Rick springs are both cute towns. The mountains all around are beautiful. I parked in the parking lot facing the train tracks, watched the train go by throughout the day. It is easy to get to with a trailer.
We needed a quick stop on our way to Cheyenne from Idaho and this was perfect. The parking spot is really easy to get to and get out of and close to fuel and food. It was hot so we fired up the gennys to cool down with some ac. The spot is secluded enough that we didn't have to worry about being too noisy. We would definitely stay here again.
A great place to stop - spent 2 nights here. Access is easy if you follow Hosts directions parking space for me was perfectly level (class b).
Nice community park on the riverside a short walk from parking. Did not meet Hosts but had a good phone conversation on arrival and he provided lots of local sightseeing tips - very helpful.
Keep an eye out for a couple of dogs from house down the street - they can get a little boisterous if owners are not around and you are walking down “their street”
I would stop here again - thanks host!
We enjoyed our stay. we did not meet our host but he was helpful in communicating on where we could park in the yard. Very convenient to I 80 nice little green river town for services would stay again for a quick overnight stop
We called Onesber when we got there and told him where we parked which was across the yard from the building with the address and Office. He said we were fine so we set up and spent the next 3 nights there. We met a neighbor our last night who told us that technically we had parked on a pull out for a town road (dirt) but were fine. Onesber had told us the Sheriff might come through and knock on our door but he never did. The site was fine for our needs-a place to stay while we went to see Flaming Gorge. The weather did not participate as we had 3 days of cold and rain and the last night winds came-up to 50MPH gusts. The site is near Hwy 30/I-80 but the traffic noise did not bother us. If it had been warm and we had our windows open that might have been different. The train that goes by on the other side is far enough away that we didn't hear any noise.. It's an industrial area so don't expect great views but DEFINITELY follow Onesber's directions since the GPS will have you exit several miles before his exit. You can get there but you'll miss the gorgeous cliffs. The town dump is at the Waste Treatment Plant of Uinta Dr so if you are headed west and want to dump FIRST it's a good idea. We didn't find anywhere for water as the Highway Dept said we could have used theirs except it was torn up. If you'll need water perhaps call Onesber and ask for the location. All in all this was a completely satisfactory stay.
Quiet and safe place, we stayed in this area during 3 night! Very friendly and helpful person, we had troubles with our old camper van and he was full of good advices and knowledge about mechanics and engines. We could stay the time we needed, it was very appreciated!
A lot of the reviews mention they never saw or met the host! Well we met him and were very glad we did. When he came to our door to introduce himself, I mentioned it was my birthday the next day and did he have a recommendation for a nice place to have dinner. He gave us the name of a place but later there was a knock at our door. His son drove out with an add from another place with a $10 off coupon! It was an excellent recommendation! We have enjoyed your town of Green River as well as Rock Springs. We needed to have WiFi to complete some tests for our upcoming volunteering at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque! Your beautiful library in town fit that bill! The local museums are well done, very interesting along with the history of the railroads. We learned how the city got its name and why the river was so important to the railroad! So many travelers don’t take the time to stay in these small towns, discover the rich history and relax without the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Some travelers would say they find the area boring and the scenery desolate but we found your city to be interesting and beautiful. These smaller cities need our tourist dollars purchasing groceries, dining out and buying gas/fuel! We thank you for your hospitality and wanted to let you know we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s hosts like you that give us the time and chance to learn why you live, work and play where you do.
We were those guys on this trip that had scheduling issues. We changed our route last minute and instead of going out and staying at Onebser's place on the way out we decided to do it on the last leg of our three-week-long trip. Onebser had no issues canceling and letting us know we could come by on the back end.
Well, the back end had to be changed as well. We were driving from Boise and thought we could make it to Green River WY but was too exhausted to make it the entire way so rather than pulling for another 1.5 hours we shut down in Evanston WY to keep us and other travelers safe. We sent Onebser a message letting him know of the situation.
Thanks once again for offering up a place for us to stay.
Rustic storage/salvage yard location only 2 minutes off I-80. Very convenient for late afternoon pull-over. A little noisy with I-80 on one side and local road on the other. Did not meet host but he was very responsive to text communications.
Lots of space to boondock on this jobsite. Didn't get a chance to meet the host, as I arrived late and took off early, but he was very helpful via messaging. Thanx again.
We stayed 1 night at this location in June. All directions to the storage lot where we parked were very accurate and easy to access. We didn't hear any trains so the location was perfect even with 7 months old baby. There is no electric or water but this is boondocking. Thank you for allowing us to stay on the property, we enjoyed the time spent in there.
We stayed overnight at this location in early September. We did not meet Burt because the business is closed. His directions to the storage lot where we parked were very accurate and easy to access. Close to I-80 and the railroad tracks! There is no electric or water....it's boondocking! Thank you for allowing us to stay on the property.
