Our hosts were absolutely awesome. The site was beyond belief. Quite, level, easy to access and great for our pup who went crazy with all the new smells. This is one of the best Boondockers spots we have experienced and we will certainly be coming back. Thank you Bigfoot!
Convenient to Interstate, very quiet site. Host provided specific and accurate instructions to reach their site. Would stay again.
Do not rely on a GPS.
After long day driving was relieved to find a great spot to relax. Spent some time visiting with another guest that was already there around the fire pit. Then retired early for a great night sleep.
Old Oak Haven is a beautiful refuge to escape from life for a little while. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating and great sources for local information. They met us on the road and led us into the property and right to our very level gravel site. The power and water hookups were in the right place, worked great and were greatly appreciated. The onsite fire pit and 'lemonade stand' wood stack made for enjoyable nights with the other boondocking couple. Highly recommend Old Oak Haven!
These were the best hosts ever. They made us feel welcome and at home. The first night there some storms moved in so we were invited to come to their house. We sat on their large beautiful porch and visited. Even the dog welcomed us and made us feel at home. Not to mention, we had electric and water in a beautiful wooded setting. Our hosts even introduced us to picked bologna, pickled red hots and pasties. All this and these wonderful people make Michigan a most visit again place.
This was my first time camping and I have to say it was the best experience ever. The property is beautiful and is fully equipped with electric and water. I would like to make this my go to place.
Great communication. Great location. Friendly and kind. So fun meeting our fellow boondockers and sharing experiences. Location is as described; road is fine and clearance fine. Site is great.
We really look forward to seeing you again. Best wishes.
Perfect hosts even though we didn’t get to visit much. Nice shady area to park. I had never even in the area and it is very pretty. A few mosquitoes hanging around but nothing a few hand slaps wouldn’t take care of. Excellent location!
Hosts were very helpful and friendly, property is beautiful and secluded. Easy pull through, great fire pit and picnic area!
A great stay near the I 75 corridor, Very kind and caring host and generous to share their wonderful property with us Boondocker’s.
Peaceful, quiet, walking trails this is so much sweeter than a campground.
Thank you Bigfoot for your hospitality!
Quiet place in a wooded setting. Host and hostess very welcoming. Had everything we needed. Dump station was really appreciated. Had time to share some stories of using Boondockers. Enjoyed our stay and it enabled us to go visit friends living near-by. Hope to catch up with each other when we are all in the sunny south.
The property is absolutely gorgeous. Nature at its finest on those trails! It's quiet and calm, the hosts are absolutely wonderful and kind! We truly loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you!!
Gorgeous park-like setting filled with shady trees and wildlife. Immaculate sites with thoughtful amenities including picnic table and fire ring. We were there with another boondocker and there was plenty of space for both of us. Enjoyed getting to know the friendly, generous hosts and hope to see them again soon.
Bigfoot is an amazing host meeting us on arrival and checking in before departure! Beautiful quiet location with wooded trails yet close to interstate. Electric and water hookups for 2 RVs with shared picnic table and fire pit. Will definitely check back if in the area again!
When we arrived the hosts took us to our campsite and made sure everything was set up for us. We were able to take several bike rides and walks on their 100 acres farm. We saw several deer on the property. A must stay if you are in their area. Very peaceful place to stay for a few days!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful With power and water wild wife in abundance. A great place to unwind and relax a big thank you to the host they were great
We had a beautiful stay among the oak trees. Got to watch the deer every day. We got the pleasure to meet our host very nice people. It was a amazing place just to recharge our batteries ! We definitely feel blessed to have the chance to stay. Looking forward to a returning trip. Thank you
We stayed at Old Oak Haven for 3 nights and it was wonderful! Our hosts were out of town but talked us through the process by phone. The property is beautiful, we really enjoyed taking walks and sitting by the campfire. I was just the quiet seclusion that we needed! Thanks so much to our generous hosts! We hope to be back someday!
Bigfoot is extremely kind. They called me to make it sure that I found it okay and had someone meet me to lead me to the site and setup. The spot is beautiful too, quiet and in the forest. It feels like you're truly camping.
I really don't want to tell everyone how wonderful oak haven is because I want to keep it for myself!!! Oh my gosh it's beautiful, quiet has electric and water!! Really wish I could have stayed longer and enjoyed it but we were just passing thru, will def do again when we have more time. The owners are also. Incredible, stay here if you can!!
We enjoy our time here with woods all around us. Hope to meet the hosts next time.
This was our second stay at the Old Oak Haven. The stay was very nice and the host very welcoming even though they themselves were away traveling. Quiet, peaceful and spacious. Power options are convenient if desired. One of our favorite BW sites. Especially, nice if you are wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of the road.
This host has everything perfect! We called at the exit, as requested, and were met at the intersection of their street. We followed the golf cart around to our level parking spot in the woods, complete with electricity. We had a nice chat with the host. We felt lucky we were able to land here before they depart for warmer weather. Hopefully next time, we will be able to meet you both, and COVID will be over so we can be more social. Thank you for such a warm welcome, and safe travels in your upcoming trip.
What a pleasant stop for an evening. Our host met us at the road/driveway entrance to their host location and guided us right to the spot. As it turned out it was back in the woods about 1/2 mile so the escort made it easy.
These host were very personable and we enjoyed chatting some before we settled in for the night and a bit before we departed. Our pup enjoyed the freedom of the woods but also really enjoyed playing with their pups as well.
The site was very nice with 50 amp power right off the drivers side rear, just like a campground.
We hope to be able to stop again as they are conveniently located for a route we travel periodically. Thank you Bigfoot for a very enjoyable stay.
What a wonderful location! Great people and we would definitely visit again. Thanks!
The hosts were so kind and the peaceful setting in the woods was just what we needed for a few days.
Just beginners to RVing and we were so lucky to come upon Old Oak Haven. The hosts Bigfoot were the most welcoming, warm, generous and friendly people! Their many-acred site was a serenely beautiful, treed area of tall, straight hardwoods and pines. For your Boondocking you have a fully prepped and level campsite and 50A electric: was highly appreciated in the unexpected almost freezing overnight. Make sure you follow Bigfoot's instructions to arriving to site: Google doesn't get it.
My husband and I can't wait to visit with Bigfoot again: he, to flyfish and afterward, we will sit by the fire with our hosts, chatting the time away!
Perfect sites and awesome hosts. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a weekend.
Looking forward to coming back sometime in the future .
My stay at Old Oak Haven was as good as it gets with Boondockers. Dave and Cathy were great hosts!! Dave was gracious enough to give a thorough tour of their beautiful property. Full hooks-ups were (50amp) a luxury not often found. They invited me in to their home for coffee and conversation. Just more assurance to me that RV folks are the best people in the U.S.A.
