We've posted 3 locations but only one of the locations has full hookup. The other has water and electricity and the third has nothing. The primary site is always available but the other two's availability is dependant on storage facility issues. the site is at a storage facility and a shop for my construction business. Generally quite. A summer weekly rental nearby that we try to be respectful to. It's not glamorous but safe and a great location to base an exploration of Mount Desert Island. We can supply 50 amp power but would have to be there to open the shop door to get to our welder plug. A 30 amp is right next to the parking site. It's 30 amp but a 15 amp shape receptacle. We have an an adapter if you need one. Water and sewer available. We are experiencing a bit of a drought so you would be sharing water from a well to a rental next door. We ask you be gentle on water use till we get another rain (8/16/20). Currently you'd be parking next to an old fire truck, sorry. Dogs welcome if they stay on the area. Need a day or two notice to make sure we haven't parked company trucks in the way. We typically don't meet there in the morning but I usually show up at some point to tinker. Generators can be used if it's the inverter style (quiet) type. We'd like to limit the generator to not later than 10 pm and not earlier than 7am. This restriction is due to the site adjoining a weekly house rental. If the house is unoccupied no restriction will exist. I usually can get you power so it's not usually an issue,
No generator after 9pm. or before 7 am. Fires with permission only (Town is picky). If your dog barks in your absence don't leave him/her alone. Take food trash with you. We have a dumpster you can use for non food items but food attracts animals. Call or text ahead so we no when and how long you're staying. Probably a week limit without further discussion. This is new to us. We just want to share and not be a pest to others. Just be reasonable respectful and things should be great.
We have a 29' towable and can drive through but its tight. We have an alleyway to turn around in. Full size semi trucks can clear it and get turned around. The property is gravel.
This shop is located at a storage facility I own. Plenty of parking. Not a fancy destination by any means but prime Mount Desert Island location
Acadia National Park. Swan's Island. Southwest Harbor, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor
If you are looking g for a great spot to explore the MDI rea, this is it. Not a campground atmosphere, but has everything you need. The owner is very accommodating and personable, does anything needed to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. He brought Mr. Tucker over one day so we got to meet this sweet lab. Highly recommended!
Very accommodating…easy to work with. Wants to make your stay here as great as possible! Would recommend!
Thank you for the great hospitality. Great place to stay to be close to everything. Full hook up. Thanks again for the stay.
The Shop is generously offered to Boondockers and is a great stop for the BW traveling community. Why you may ask? If your wishing to see Acadia NP your less than 15 minutes away, as well as Bar Harbor not to mention a slew of other sites from lakes, hikes, harbors and other wonders of the area. We found it to be relatively peaceful even though your near a road with what traffic there is quieting down quite a bit in the evenings. And, your stay is supported by full hookups at no charge! We stayed at The Shop in a 36’ 5th wheel which required a little maneuvering but there was plenty of room, just take it slow. Very grateful for the chance to meet and speak to the owners and their grandkids, as well as meet the family dog MrTucker!!
Great place to park right next to Acadia National Park including everything water electric Sewer and internet. what else can you ask. thank you
Couldnt ask to be closer to Acadia NP! Only a 20 min drive puts you in the park and a little further until you reach Bar Harbor.
Yes you're parked in a storage lot, but we didn't mind because we were so close to everything!
Host was friendly and accommodating, would definitely stay again!
We would highly recommend staying here at MrTucker's place. Yeah, it wasn't a beautiful site to see on the right side, but it was nice enough on the left side of our RV (the TRAMP)! This is the perfect place to stay if you want to see Acadia and feel good about leaving your camper for the day. It is centrally located, close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We had full hook up at a grand total of $0 cost and the owner was awesome and very friendly.
The spot is full hook up! I did take advantage of electrical, I came in with a 26 ft TT, it was very tight getting out, so if you’re pulling a TT, just be careful! I did not meet mr tucker but I did have phone communication with him prior to arrival! He seemed to be very accommodating to me
What a generous host to give folks a great opportunity to explore this fantastic area!
Our host is right on the island and close to everything! It was a perfect to place to stay for all our adventures. Our host was super nice and found us the perfect spot to stay. We would so do this again!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We are very appreciative to have a quiet place to park overnight on the island. The host provided a video explaining how to find this specific spot & was able to answer any possible questions. Water & electrical was available as well. Convenient for our needs!
Thank you & hope to stay again!
Agree with all the other reviews—as advertised and with free hookups in this location is a sweet deal! If your rig doesn’t have much extra clearance on the tail end, be careful and take your time turning off the road into the location—need to line up your wheels correctly where the drop off from the road is the least, and rock yourself over to avoid scraping. It is possible, just take your time, and I would still stay here given all the positives of the opportunity. Thanks for having us!
Really great spot, very lucky to find if you're dates work out. Seems like it is booked quite often, and for good reason. Full hookups essentially = free campground with no one around. Very gracious host, even though we did not meet, took care of us. Highly recommend. Thanks for being a awesome human!
Stayed for three nights with our class C. Full hooks ups offered. Great place to stay while exploring Acadia.
It was such a blessing to have water/electric AND the ability to dump! It was very easy to get to the National Park from here and the host was very helpful when we had questions. We also enjoyed his pup! Great stay!
We very much appreciated finding the Shop when planning a last minute trip to Acadia, especially in April when many campgrounds are closed or are in very high demand in the park! The spot wasn’t glamorous but it’s all we needed as we spent our days exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor, a very special area! The host was very accommodating and communicative. We were great full for this accessible spot!
I hope one day this host ventures to my neck of the woods so I can return the generosity he shares with others! His kindness to allow strangers to crash on his space is much appreciated and I hope one day I will be able think of a way to say thanks. It is nothing fancy, nothing magical, but an amazing opportunity to base close to the park without having neighbors. Also just a place near the park when everything is still closed for the season! THANK YOU!
Safe place to base camp while exploring MDI! We went in the off season, very early spring, so lots of places were closed, but we were able to explore the area without the crowds! What a BEAUTIFUL island. Glad we planned our trip for a little more than just a weekend - so much to see and hike!
The shop offered a safe place to "base camp" for our exploring. Couldn't have asked for a better host! We had water and power and even a dump! We even had some WIFI which really came in clutch because we had 0 service (Verizon). Can't thank you all enough for your warm hospitality and kindness.
Jordan Pond Loop and Thunderhole were by far my favorite spots. Loved beach combing too! Safe Travels! <3
Perfect for us! The Shop’s island location made our activities convenient & enjoyable! The Host was on location explained parking and had provided detailed directions, phone number etc., that was super helpful.
We look forward to staying again!
Thank you 😊
Wonderful experience here. The place has full hookups if that’s what you need. He was very responsive. Perfect location if you’re exploring Acadia NP. Would highly recommend!
It is a great place for staying overnight. Dirt driveway with crush and run stones. Well lit, full hookup. Be careful pulling into complex driveway given the drainage rut. Nothing bad to say. Great staff and friend host.
Spent 2 nights there in early February 2021. Excellent host, very responsive, easy communication, and very friendly and supportive. Highly recommended!

Our stay at The Shop was very comfortable and convenient with great hikes all around the area and close proximity to Acadia National Park. The host was very friendly and got us all set up immediately. We appreciated the warm hospitality!
Such a great, convenient stay! This was our first experience with Boondockers Welcome, and our host made everything so easy—communication was easy and timely, and we couldn’t have asked for a more convenient location. Thank you!!
Great stay at the shop!!! Mr Tucker was very hospitable! We had water, electric and sewer hook up. Didn’t spend much time in the rv since we were checking out Acadia NP. Very close to the park...10-15 mins drive. We will be back!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the shop! This location was extremely convenient to access many local attractions including Bay Harbor and Acadia 😊👍

We had a wonderful stay in the secondary spot. Quiet and incredibly close to Acadia. Very grateful to MrTucker for his hospitality.
I greatly appreciate how detailed the host’s instructions were upon arrival! He sent me videos of everything I needed to know. I never got to meet the host, but I am so thankful for such a lovely experience getting to be so close to the park.
Can’t thank MrTucker1050 enough for being a host. Perfect out of the way spot yet central to all the area has to offer. Especially since most campgrounds are closed this time of year.
Thank for hosting us and giving us a great place to explore from I hope to see you on the road exploring and I enjoyed talking with you :)
Very generous people. Thank you again for a wonderful weekend stay!!
Mr. Tucker 1050 was so accommodating -- he even sent us videos to show how to get to his location and where to park. Couldn't have been nicer! It was super easy to roll in and out and get on our way to Acadia. We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area!
Very accommodating host, offered us several amenities and advice regarding our van. Site was level, dry and included electric.
Thank you for a peaceful night!
This was a perfect stop in wonderful bar harbor. I had my motorcycle in tow. Wonderful stay. Eric responded often to my changes. And finally stay. Quiet clean and very accommodating. Hope to be back
We very much enjoyed our stay with MrTucker1050 who provided us with a quiet, level spot to park to sleep at night AND ran electric cord and even a water hose to the overflow site. It got chilly at night and we greatly appreciated the option to run a little heater in our small campervan.
Thanks to this wonderful host, we were able to drive to spend enjoyable days beside the ocean and quiet nights at his location. Highly recommend!
My stay with MrTucker at The Shop was much more than I asked for :-)
Very safe and convenient location and the host was so caring and thoughtful. He really goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. I am very grateful for his kindness and hospitality. Thank you!!
If time had allowed, we would have stayed longer in this lovely location. Our host was very helpful and welcoming. Not the "usual" for a great spot, which is part of the charm. The secondary spot was quiet, relatively level, and safe from prying eyes, and accessible to the area's attractions. The spot required me to pull around and back in (or out). Easy enough in a 20' class B. On site dump, electric and water. WiFi is weak in this spot, but my hotspot worked fine. I hope I find my way back to this gorgeous location, excellent spot, warm host, and friendly dog soon!
We had a great stay at The Shop. Our host was there upon arrival to say hi and help us get situated. The setup is great. Not the most picturesque (we expected that), but very functional and the location is wonderful for exploring the area. About 1/2 mile down the road is an amazing Lobster place (The Travelin’ Lobster) and practically next door is an artist named Ernie. He is a sculptor and has some amazing copper welded whimsical pieces done in a steampunk style. He’s been doing it for decades (85 years old) and was doing steampunk before steampunk had a definition. Very cool stuff. Thanks to our host for opening up his place to allow us to experience Bar Harbor, Acadia, and Desert Island.
This location couldn't be better for exploring Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and all of Mount Desert Island. It is only six minutes from the park entrance. Our host provided full hookups and some excellent advice about where to get lobster. It is a working shop and storage facility, so sometimes there is some activity. The site we had was a reasonably level gravel pad. We were very impressed with the location and with our host. He called us when the previous Boondockers cancelled and offered for us to come in early if we were in the area. He saved us from a night in the Walmart parking lot! We will try to stay again when we are in the area, but I can see that this will be a very popular boondocking location.
Had everything we needed, water, electric , and wifi! Tucker was very friendly and got back to us extremely fast! Highly recommend!
Our stay was wonderful, but short. We had planned to stay two nights, but the weather was changing with high winds expected, so we headed inland. Great spot to park our RV and our host was quick to arrive to show us all the hook ups. Highly recommend this spot to explore Mt. Desert Island!
Great central location to explore all MDI has to offer. Cannot thank Mr Tucker enough for allowing us to stay at his shop.
Very helpful in getting us set up with water & electric. So thankful !
Great provider for your needs at this wonderful vacation area.
MDI is one of the most popular areas on the East Coast.
This host's location is very easy to get to and is a safe haven within twenty-five minutes to the downtowns of both Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor.
Our host happened to be there to greet us, he help us park and point out full hookups. We had a couple great conversations with MrTucker, an all round nice guy that is very busy and unbelievably talented!
We had perfect weather for hiking and were grateful for the time and location that afforded the opportunity to tour the area more than we ever have in the past. We hope MrTucker will accept our next request to stay sometime in the future!
Generous and pleasant owner. Will return as soon as possible.
We were greeted upon our arrival and offered electrical and water hookup, as well as dump station - none of which we needed.
After dark, the road noise was minimal and we slept well.
Thank you for a great night’s sleep in a safe location!
Great location and truly a pleasant surprise. Enjoyed visiting Acadia and the surrounding area. It is centrally located and easy to find and also included hookups. The brewery and BBQ place just down the street was delicious. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
Mr. Tucker again allowed us to stay at the best Boondocking site on MDI. Although the site is close to Bar Harbor, one can hear little road noise. The hosts certainly respect your primacy. Would stay here every week if we could.
Nice little corner, not too far from downtown and Acadia. Full hookups, which was fantastic. Good communication and instructions. Thank you!
We really appreciated this little space for checking out the national park. MrTucker1050 was kind enough to send us videos on where to park and where the sewer and electricity are located, and he provided an adapter for the electricity The space was quiet and secluded at night, and the weather was awesome.
The only downside about the spot was it was a little rough turning off the road, as the street was recently paved and the roadworkers left a big drop off. Just go slow when you are turning in or out of the location, otherwise, your cabinets will be a mess :)
Thanks so very much for an awesome location to spend day-tripping through Bar Harbor. All the hookups were a welcomed bonus, never expected, but really appreciated! Our host came by each morning, although we missed him once because we weren't up yet. We hope he knows how very appreciative we are and hope to be back someday. Love ❤️ Boondockers Welcome!
Perfect spot for all Mount Desert Island has to offer. Easy to find, within a few miles from the entrance to the island. Found all the hookups available, electric, water and a dump point. Our wonderful host was very accommodating. He saw to everything including WiFi if we needed it. It certainly met our needs. If you need any info on the island, he's the guy! Looking forward to staying here for a few more days!
We have a self-contained rig, solar, no grey or black water. It was very nice that our host offered an electrical hookup and a place to dump tanks. Although our host couldn’t be at the site to greet us, he sent a video describing where to park. Wow. The parking spot was quiet..
