Rural residential with lots of bike riding and hiking.
Pets okay, would like to know in advance. Prefer non-smokers, generators not required as we have electric (50/30) available, also please use jack pads. Cell service is not always very reliable in this area.
On property near rig.
Note: If pulling a trailer over 30' you need to be able to perform a smooth three point turn.
Parking: Good backing and turning skills are required. Entrance is a long driveway on the narrow side. A three point turn (or more depending on your backing/turning skills) is needed to turn around and then you back into position. For larger rigs (over 25’), make sure to arrive when the host can be there to assist with parking tips and tricks. We had no trouble with a 32.5’ 5th wheel but we are also very use to backing up and making 3 point turns.
Hosts: The hosts were super friendly and provided a welcome packet with local info and restaurants. They have a well behaved and friendly yellow lab. We enjoyed the conversations we had with them.
Location: It is off the beaten path which we loved. Our dog enjoyed taking walks on the paved road and, better yet, the dirt service road behind the house. From our RV, we were able to look out and see trees, scrub bushes, and rocks. Our dog also enjoyed playing fetch on the driveway.
Noise: Very quiet. The road ends about 6 miles past their house so traffic is local only and almost everyone waved at us while walking the dog.
Our stay at Rowdy's Run was great! Beautiful property close to Sisters where we enjoyed the town and its shopping and dining. Upon arrival, our host greeted us and helped us park in the driveway with ease. They had a packet of information for us for Sisters and surrounding area. Our host graciously gave our truck a jump when our batteries were dead! We enjoyed visiting with our host and his sweet dog. I would love to visit again if we come this way.
Short overnight stay on our way to the Oregon coast. Super nice site and super nice hosts. Need to stay longer next time and get to know the great little town of Sisters.
This was our first BD experience. The hosts set the bar impossibly high, :-). They were so very hospitable and friendly it felt more like we were visiting old friends and we consider it the start of a new friendship. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Their house is located in a beautiful area and the view of the snow capped Sisters Mts. was spectacular. Adjacent to their property is an undeveloped natural area where you can walk on trails off leash with your dog, which are our airedale, Roxie, thoroughly enjoyed. There were numerous deer about causing Roxie to stand and stair but was never inclined to give chase. In addition, she got to rollick with Ranger a lab about the same size and age as her. She really did not want to leave the place, neither did we. What an incredible place to stay. We were here in a 30' motorhome.
The host was very accommodating.
We were warmly greeted when we arrived and shown where to park -a nice, level place with 30 amp hookup. We and our dogs enjoyed the trail behind the house and the beautiful area.
Lovely and peaceful place!
Thank you very much Patty and Steve!
This was a beautiful location and close to great attractions such as Smith Rock and the Painted Hills. Very nice spot for our 35' 5th wheel. Hosts were very friendly.
When we arrived for our 2 night stay the owners were not home however, the owner had the electrical cord ready, a sign clearly indicating where we should park and a envelope with a assortment of local information which was valuable and interesting to read. Visitors can walk from the property to the woods. We will likely return.
Where do I start? The fabulous property with so many trails for the dogs? Being out in the country and yet close to town? The wonderful and welcoming hosts? I could not have been more comfortable and safe then this. They even offered me to stay longer. I also received a wealth of area information which was very helpful. And not to forget their wonderful sweet labs !
Our stay here was graced with groups of deer grazing through the high desert brush and intensely colorful sunsets. Our hosts were SO kind and thoughtful and even provided us with literature about the area and a spacious spot to park. Couldn’t be a more idyllic setting. Thank you!!!
Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel like an old friend! These two folks couldn’t have been more gracious and accommodating.
My bedroom window overlooked a beautiful landscape that was open and free for off leash explorations. My dog Ginger loved the freedom she got to chase squirrels and flush out birds, a rare treat when you spend most of your time in RV parks or campgrounds.
The only issue I had was my ATT phone reception, but these folks went out of their way to make sure I was able to make the calls I needed to arrange for medications in local pharmacy.
I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Sisters area, that you spend some time here!
What a wonderful way to meet people with like minds and open hearts!
