This is a single family home is a nice older neighborhood. We have 1/3 acre and a very large driveway and side yard that can easily accommodate a smaller sized RV and tow vehicle. It is a quiet street with an expected amount of neighborhood traffic, especially after 6 PM--Quiet. We have great neighbors and would appreciate any visitors respect the quiet nature of our neighborhood (no loud music or generators, etc). The Donation request is ENTIRELY optional; if any visitor was so inclined, a modest ($5 or $10) donation to the LANCASTER FOUR DOG RESCUE www.l4dr.org, is greatly appreciated. Suggested Local Attractions: We are a short drive to downtown Portland with a great culinary scene; there are MANY good restaurants and outdoor activities within a few miles of our home if the Downtown Portland scene isn’t your thing. We live very near a very nice bicycling/walking nature trail, the Fanno Creek Trail.

House Rules

Our main request is that guests are quiet and respect the peaceful, family neighborhood we live in. We have a large fenced yard if your pets need that, it would be necessary to see if our dogs synced, or we would be happy to share the yard and keep our dog inside, she does not have access unless we let her out. No smoking on or near the property.

Location

Access Road Conditions: Our location is in an established neighborhood with well maintained city streets. Our drive way is compacted rock/gravel and level and graded appropriately. There is an open drainage ditch on one side of our street; a very large set-up could have trouble navigating in to the drive way. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Large driveway, room for RV/trailer and tow vehicle. Water and electricity available. SUMMER MONTHS UPDATE: It is not possible for visitors to run any mechanical device that generates noise; for example to run an air conditioning unit. For this reason, and the EVER increasing heat in Portland during the Summer months, please take into consideration that while electricity IS available, running an A/C unit non-stop is not an option....sorry...

We are a semi-retired couple with a T@B teardrop trailer and we love to camp. UNFORTUNATELY; AT THIS TIME, WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE TRAVELERS WHOM ARE PERMANENTLY -- OR EVEN SHORT/MEDIUM-TERM, LIVING IN THEIR RIGS. VISITORS WITH PERMANENT HOMES THEY CAN RETURN TO ONLY. THANK YOU. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We have not discovered any yet. Skills or Expertise to Share: We enjoy cycling and gardening

The Southwest Portland Garden Home is in the perfect location! 15 minutes from downtown Portland and near tons of other resturants, gyms, and breweries! The hosts were easy to contact and communicated quickly. They checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. The driveway had plenty of room for our 17ft camper but it took some maneuvering! Awesome stay!

I had an unexpected experience while staying at SW Garden Home. While walking to Trader Joe’s I saw saw dog running along the road. I chased him down and while he had rabies tags and dog license there was no tag with name or phone #. Unwilling to let go and returned to SW Garden Home and knocked on the door. Julie is a dog lover and has 2 dogs. Using Nextdoor she rapidly reunited the dog & family for a happy ending. This a great location near Portland with a fairly level driveway in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Julie is a gracious host.

We had no problem parking our van in the driveway. Our host came out to welcome us and let us know about good restaurants in the area. We had planned on staying for 2 nights but it was snowing the next morning so we left. Thanks to our host for the accommodation. It's a great location.

Our hosts were very accommodating and happily met us to ensure we could get into their site easily. Their location has great proximity to downtown Portland while still being quiet enough for peaceful mornings and good sleep. We enjoyed the walks on neighboring trails and chatting about all our camper modifications as we have the same model. Great hosts, great location!

We had a wonderful stay here. The host and her daughter set up a little play area with a table and toys right outside where we parked. My kids loved the extra little touch after a long day in the car! We enjoyed talking with both of the hosts that evening when we arrived to set up. Would stay again! Thank you for your hospitality!
