We are located close to town (1 mile walk) but you feel secluded. Our property is a pasture with mountains in the backdrop. It's great to wake up to such amazing views or stay up late to star gaze. You can walk or drive to town for dining, shopping, etc. We are located 10 minutes from the Chattooga River, where whitewater rafting is a must. There is also tons of hiking, waterfalls, lakes, and mountain views all around this area.

We live in a tiny house on the property and you will be parking in our driveway. We also convert vans into campervans so may be working on one of our projects while you are here. We currently do most of our building on another site.

House Rules

*No smoking on property
*Quiet hours after 9:00pm
*Please ask before having visitors.

Access Road Conditions

We are a short distance on a gravel driveway. We've cut the low hanging limbs to allow access to our drive.

Very nice hosts

Very nice hosts. It's funny last year I was there during a hurricane and this time a tropical storm was coming in which I decided to try to dodge this time leaving a bit early. I'm thankful to the hosts for once again being so gracious.

Quiet time and great scenery!

dolly.the.rambler is a great host/ess for Boondockers! We parked facing a meadow backed up by a North Georgia mountain. dolly was helpful with restaurant suggestions and shops, etc. We definitely recommend Rambler’s Retreat!

Wonderful stay, wonderful people!

Beautiful, peaceful location and incredibly friendly hosts! We had such a great time relaxing and exploring the area. Tallulah Gorge was our big outing and it was spectacular. Hope we can return the favor someday, thank you guys!

Lovely location outside Clayton

A wonderful place to park for the night after hiking in the mountains. Simple to find and a beautiful property. We really enjoyed the plentiful stars.

Thanks Dolly for the great stay!

Prompt communication

Although we didn’t get to meet, there were no problems with this location. Clear parking instructions and a nice view.

Great Stay!

Though we didn't get to spend time with dolly.the.rambler, we did enjoy a lovely evening on their quiet property with lovely views — and so close to downtown. dolly.the.rambler were kind and generous hosts, very responsive via text, and were helpful, too, with food and hike suggestions. Thanks again for a great stay!

Gorgeous spot!

Truly a gorgeous spot nestled in the mountains. It rained most of the time I was there but I felt lucky because it was during hurricane zeta and everywhere took a beating from the high winds. Power was out in the mountains all the way to Atlanta and lines down storage units toppled over etc. so I felt blessed to have been protected by the mountains or my RV May not be here anymore. Thank you to the kind hosts who were super sweet to me. I hope to get to visit the area again sometime when it's sunny. Thanks again!
