20 acre property with a small pond with gold fish, surrounded by trees, a short hiking trail,
We do have 2 yellow Lab's that are free to run on the property but are nice dogs.
We do mow on Wednesday mornings starting approx. 8am
Easy access off main paved road, driveway is crushed asphalt, plenty of room to turn around
Next to the rig
We are retired and do spur of the moment trips, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you.

These folks treated us like friends from the start; even greeted us with a welcome letter and gift! They don’t need to give a gift...THEY are the gift!
Large, quiet, peaceful yard with wildlife and trails.
We had a lovely stay and hope to return!
The Off-Roaders quickly confirmed our last minute request. They, Cecil, and Libby greeted us warmly when we arrived pointed out where to park and the location of power and water.
We wanted to spend more time talking with them, but work and then the rain interfered.
Their property reviles some parks. The trail is wonderful and the tree canopy shielded us from the drizzle before the rain. The pond is beautiful and it was fun to watch the frogs try to evade us when we approached.
The hosts are wonderful and very gracious.
Thank you for the overnight stay!
After several nights in state parks, it was a welcome night of peace and quiet. Our hosts met us with great information about the city and even a small gift. Thank you so much!
This has been our favorite boondockers welcome for many reasons! The hosts are just so generous and kind, offering electric and well water to guests to start and then offering us to hang out with them in their woodshop as we got to know each other more. We made new lifelong friends at this stay. They were welcoming to my parents who flew into town and stayed one of the three nights with us there. We are so grateful for this experience, it's truly been a highlight of our 4 months on the road. Highly recommend this place with its deer, open grass fields, pond, sweet dogs and of course the wonderful owners. Thank you so much!
There is simply no way to put into words how wonderful our stay was.
Good people are everywhere. If you wanna spend a little while with a couple of them, this is your place.
Off-Roaders was a little slice of heaven, in my opinion.
We enjoyed this property and the hosts so much. Friendly conversations, loving pets, amazing property.
Thank you for letting us stay on your beautiful property. We enjoyed seeing you at the craft market and hearing all about this amazing hobby. The host gave us some pointers ok how to stain our wood slide covers It was great to have electricity with such heat and humidity and share your well water. Very kind and considerate hosts. The dogs (4 at the moment) were great as well. The kids and our dog
enjoyed playing with them. They also enjoyed the trails and the pond.
What a beautiful spot. Host has obviously loved and cared for this property and loves sharing it with the community. Very enjoyable time, enjoyed coffee on the porch hearing some of their stories. Very easy to navigate and set up. Great water from the well and power for a hot muggy day. Thanks again for the friendship!
I was greeted upon arrival, shown where to park assisted with water and electric hookups.
This is back to nature in a secluded quiet place with forest all around with nature walking trails with benches placed along the trails. Very peaceful. Great hosts
While staying with Off-Roaders, my truck broke down on a dirt road -- sketchy cell reception -- next to a graveyard. Somehow I was eventually able to get ahold of my daughter in Ohio, who called AAA,, then Off Roaders, who took me into the village to pick up my truck the next day. That's a very condensed version of a scary situation. .
They were like family. Happy to help.
I felt safe and comfortable there!
Slate’s Serenity is perfectly named. Their property looks like a beautiful little park. They were so helpful and kind throughout our stay, from guiding us in, to providing us with resources about the area to helping us hook up to power and water. We were very appreciative!!
I will note that we have AT&T, and were not able to get consistent reception (cell or data, even with booster) here. If you are seeking to work/stream video, you will want to drive to a nearby town. This is not a hardship, the local towns are amazing!
What a fantastic stay at Slates Serenity !!!
Lovely property and VERY accommodating!
Just a breath of fresh air , when you meet like minded people who “Get it “
Thank You falls short of our appreciation for this one night stay … Would definitely visit again !!!
We were cheerfully greeted. They were so helpful getting us set up. Such a gracious couple wanting our comfort and make sure we had what we needed. The property is BEAUTIFUL. Plenty of Room to navigate our 25' class C and Jeep tow. Can't say enough that describes our wonderful experience with THE OFF-ROADERS who shared invaluable info regarding their rv adventures and about the local vegetation and wildlife we were so interested in learning about. Just wish we could have stayed longer. We want to come back to Slate's Serenity when we visit the great state of Michigan again!
Absolutely perfect and serene place to make a stop. Wonderful hosts our stay was short but would have loved having more to visit with and get to know Off-Roaders. Thank you for opening up your home for us to stay. Bentley 🐾 also passing on his enjoyment to have met your four legged babies. When we pass through again we truly hope to have time to stay.
Take care and Travel Safe and we hope to see you down the road!!!
Our hosts are the best! Friendly and accommodating. It was great talking with them in the mornings over coffee and learning about them. They keep themselves very busy. This was our 1st BDW location and they have set the bar pretty high which all others will be compared to.
This is a great host. Generous and kind. Provided a great info sheet on the area. It was a quiet area with a lovely yard and home. We would love to return.
These hosts went above and beyond. Best BW experience we’ve had. Beautiful walking trail. Highly recommend staying here!
Slate’s Serenity is a great secluded rural location. Hosts “Off-Roaders” greeted us on arrival, guided us into our spot, pointed out the water and electric hookups, and provided an information sheet about their property amenities and the surrounding area. Cecil and Libby, their beautiful yellow Labs, accompanied them to greet us. Host is located about five minutes from the skydiving facility we were here to visit. Their house is gorgeous and their property just as alluring. They have a huge, beautiful yard, a lovely pond, and trails in the woods with benches to stop and relax and enjoy the surroundings. There is an abundance of wildlife, saw a lot of deer and raccoon tracks and saw sandhill cranes flying over the property. We felt so welcome and comfortable here. “Off-Roaders” were so friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our visit with them and would be very pleased to visit again.
Everything went great host met us and guided us in to park. Furnished water and electric.only downfall is host would not take anything for utilities. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN IF IN THE AREA. ONLY STAYED 1 Night So Didn't get to see hosts as much as we would have liked.
Very thoughtful and accommodating people .. our host's went above and beyond to insure my short stay was as comfy as possible. Highly recommended. Even Cecil and Libby were happy for us!!
The property is beautiful and our hosts could not have been more accommodating and gracious! We will definitely return.
One of the major highlights of this trip was meeting our hosts and spending some time getting to know them. We had an absolutely delightful time chatting with them each morning. Definitely recommended if your travels bring you anywhere near Slate's Serenity.
I received a gracious welcome from hosts and friendly dogs, entering this lovely country spot with nearby nature preserves and trails. Besides a morning cup of coffee and good chat on the porch about their Alaska travels, I heard about quite a career directing Boy Scout camps. The care to gardens and buildings really shows, with much pleasure in many crafted things.
