Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe live on 1 1/3 acres of rural property in the small town of Mohawk, TN. Don't let our location name fool you. Our property is divided by a drainage area and we call everything between the drainage area and the road "The Lower Forty"! At this time we do not have any amenities to offer but you may come and get water if you need it. We don't know if our wifi would work in that area but if you would like to try to use it, please ask us for the sign on information. There is afternoon shade in the back yard, although the RV area is in the sun. We a have a front deck with table and chairs and a back deck that has a screened canopy with seating. You are welcome to use either area. There is also a three seat swing in back yard near fire pit that you may use. We would love to have you join us for some fellowship. We love to share our love for Jesus with anyone who wants to listen and we would love to hear stories that you would like to share.
Although we have no problem with alcoholic beverages, we do ask that you be considerate and not party. Please no smoking on property during dry season, as we would worry about it being a fire hazard. Please do NOT throw cigarette butts on grass. Pets are welcomed but must be leashed. Please pick up after your animal. Lawn chairs, Canopies, Tents and barbecue grills are okay but all fires must be extinguished immediately after use. Please pick up all trash before you leave. There is a small vinyl enclosed bin near side of house where you are free to put your trash. Generators are fine. Children are fine but please keep them away from road and water drainage area.
We are a country road, 4 miles from route 11E. The road is regular country road until you come to our graveled driveway. Travel on the driveway is not completely flat. The area where the RV will park is a slightly elevated area but basically pretty level. There is a possibility to pull through but it is on our neighbor's property and we would have to get their permission. Moving truck has made the turn from the road to our driveway without any trouble. If you will have to back up to leave parking area, there is only a short distance to back up. The only issue we have with parking is that our ground is clay and in very rainy weather, the ground will soften and make it difficult to maneuver. We suggest that you check with us regarding weather conditions a day or two before you arrive. There are no trees. Area is full sun. Because a visitor felt that the road and driveway may be too narrow to access with a large RV or small with tow, we have included some pictures noting the entrance to the driveway, in hopes that it will help you make a determination ahead of time.
All parking is on grass. There is a gravel driveway leading to the parking area. Parking should be behind RV.
We attend church services Saturday mornings and are usually not available to welcome guests until around 3:30-4:00. Because we live in a rural area, when we go shopping we often take 2-4 hours to shop and enjoy a lunch out. If you need to make arrangements other than those specified, you will be given two cell phone numbers on which to reach us. We also have an RV and may do some last minute trips.
Dollywood and all Pigeon Forge attractions are about 1 hour from us. We are about 1 hour from Knoxville and 25-30 minutes from area shopping in Greenville and Morristown. Cherokee Lake and Dam are not far away. Other than that, there is a lot of peace and quiet!
The most gracious hosts you can imagine! Enjoyed our stay in their yard and exploring the sights in northeast Tennessee. May God bless them as they bless others.
Friendly hosts and beautiful countryside made for an enjoyable stay. Would live to stay here again.
wafcaf27 provided a wonderfully level spot for us to park our rig. Upon our arrival we were welcomed with smiling faces and we had a wonderful visit around the campfire in the backyard. Unfortunately the weather was horrible almost the entire time we were there but there was still a few things we found to do in nearby Greenville. The only downside we saw to this location was that is on a very narrow side road and the driveway entrance was a bit narrow. Between those two things, rigs larger than ours (PU & 21’ travel trailer) may find it difficult to swing into their driveway. Thanks so much for allowing us the pleasure of staying at your place.
