This is a two level property: The top level is at the main access road and the bottom is at the lake level. the top level is a paved wide driveway that you must back into from the main county road. Stay to the east side since the garage door must not be blocked. There is a security light should that make you comfortable. This is a 50A site with water. You must drop your toad before approaching the site. There are areas to do this in the village and details will be provided when you call prior.
The second site area is down the hill to the lake or the 30A power site. At the lake is an area for a small 5th wheel or a 25+' class B. Down the paved hill is a building - this is a 30A site on a 2% grade. It is mandatory to call ahead before using the down the hill sites as it can be hazardous at certain times of the year. There is a security light on the lower level.
Both upper areas and lower areas have wifi± with different ssid's and are password protected - plenty of bandwidth for Netflix - however, you may need an outside antenna to pick up a strong signal.. Verizon hotspots work reasonably well since the tower is 2 miles away 4G. OTA is spotty coverage on the upper level. None on the lower level.
1. No generators on upper level at night. Generators may be used on all levels during the day and the lower level any time.
2. Pets must be controlled and on a short leash at all times. Pick up after your pet.
3. Fires and firewood on request on the lower property only. Prior permission only.
4. Absolutely no loud music, noises, fireworks or firearms allowed.
5. Swimming not allowed on property due to liability issues.
6. Covid-19 CDC rules apply.
The access is off a county road that can be busy at times but has a posted speed limit of 40mph. The road has 18 wheelers at times delivering goods to the nearby towns. Our main 50A spot is just off the road described and for most cases is a back in spot into a driveway that is 50' wide and 75' long. Stay to the East side. The driveway has a 5% grade but we park our 36' Class A and can level it with no problem. Our house is immediately to he west of the parking spot.
By prior arrangement we have a 30A spot at the bottom of a hill on a paved road that is 9' wide down a 30% grade for 100'. This has a lake view and is quite private. The tow can go in and out with no restrictions day or night. Call ahead. It is possible that tree branches will rub against the tall vehicles.
By prior arrangement we have one, possibly more, dry camping spots immediately on the lake. You will hear wild geese if stay here for sure. This spot is dry season only since the road to the site is narrow and if you leave the road you will be stuck. It is possible that tree branches will rub against the tall vehicles.
Plenty of space for the tow but drop before you arrive. Call prior for details.
We live at the site and it is our main residence so we are quite often available 10AM to 8PM. With Covid-19 we are planning no summer trips.
Steuben County is a vacation lake district with hundreds of lakes, parks and all that goes with a venue such as one would expect in a low crime vacation spot. The host would be glad to give you some ideas. However, this RV Site is rural with little in the way of entertainment locally. All the venues are 5 -15 miles away. It is quiet and peaceful in this area except on 4th of July and August Pleasant Lake days when there are fireworks that are quite good.
We had great communication about how to get to the site and what options were available to set up at. Directions were easy and the house was easy to find. We stayed in the large easy to back into driveway. There is a bit of slope that will require some leveling blocks. The hosts were great people. Easy to talk with. We sat and talked for almost two hours after arriving. They offered fire wood to use in their fire pit down by the lake... we walked down but did not take advantage of it. Water and electric were available and greatly appreciated. Would definitely return if in the area. One note for verizon people we had only one bar cell service. Not a problem for us but if you are planning to stream a movie it may be an issue.
We had a very restful and secure stop for the night.
Charlie and Sharon we very accommodating.
We enjoyed talking about RVing, travel destinations and the lake out back was the icing on the cake.
We hope to meet up with them in a couple weeks.
Charlie's Lake View is highly recommended.
All I can say is it was awesome!! Charlie and his wife were great hosts. They have a beautiful spot and are very welcoming! Someday we will be full-time RVers and hope to visit Charlie again on our way through the area! Hank and Lilli
Easy to find and access, great power and water with lots of local information. We were able to park without disconnecting, always a plus when we’re on the move. Nice folks
We totally enjoyed our evening and overnight at Charlies Lake View, on our way to visit family further west. We chose to dry camp right at the edge of the lake, a beautiful spot. The weather that day and evening were lovely, and we had a fun visit with Charlie and Sharon, sitting (socially-distanced!) in lawn chairs there as the sun was getting low. The night was quiet and the early morning mist on the lake, with the moon still visible, was a serene and peaceful start to our travel day. These gracious hosts, lots of birds, kayakers on the lake, and the gorgeous, quiet scenery all combine to make this a very special place!
Great couple, very friendly & accommodating. Enjoyed chatting with them during our brief stay. Beautiful sunsets just over the tree line from their driveway!
