We are on an inland lake in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We have a fairly narrow gravel drive, but it is a pull around loop if your rig is not too long. There is a 30/15 amp plug along the garage. If you want a bit of lake view with no hook-up you can park on the other side of the loop. Dogs need to be kept on a leash.
Generator hours between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Pets on leash. No loud music.
The last two miles is gravel road, wash boarding and potholes common. Our road is a dead end with a very tight turn around at the end. Our driveway is fairly narrow with a loop, but kind of tight turns. Overhanging branches, rigs much over 10’ not recommended.
Tow vehicle can park on other side of circle drive if needed.
We do some short trips in the summer and fall, but we will try and accommodate your requests.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Seney National Wildlife Refuge, Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Mackinac Island, are all within 90 minute drive. Small supply town about 5 miles away.
S (host) was very pleasant and helpful and the property/neighborhood is super quiet and peaceful. Camping area includes a great view of the 4,000 acre lake that the house and outbuilding sit upon. Lots of birding to be had - and kayaking/canoeing if you’ve got one. Decent walking from spot - to nearby campground. Water and electric available if desired (I chose to forego electric and be closer to water). Can’t go wrong here.
I needed a nice quiet space to catch up on some things and this was perfect. There’s a place to bring a chair down by the lake and just chill. I went on a 4 mile walk (2 there, 2 back) to a sweet little bridge with a creek. Absolutely gorgeous. They were great hosts. Just left me to my own devices. Hi have a 19 ft airstream and made the turn in their driveway no problem.
Scott and mary have a beautiful spot. They are on a lake, where you can hear the Loons on the water. We would like to go back.
We didn't get to stay for more than a night but we enjoyed our stay with this host. The turn around driveway is tight but doable for a small Class B or 20' trailer. Electricity was offered and we took advantage of it for the evening. The host was gracious and pleasant and gave us a nice tour of his beautiful prime lakeside property. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if ever in the area.
A beautiful spot on the lake and grateful for the chance to see it. Thanks Scott!
What a fun overnight stay we had at the Little Red Cottage! Your generous hospitality only added to the wonderful scenery and uniqueness of the place. We enjoyed getting to know you and swapping "rig" info -- and the recommendations you provided on what to see while in UP was so helpful. Thank you again for all!
Scott was a great host, we enjoyed relaxing on the lakeside, enjoyed floating in the water. Great place to bring your own kayak or canoe! Thanks so much for being so gracious.
K and the girls!
Thank you very much for an amazing stay. I thank you very much for your help with my lavatory issue.
Excited to be their 1 st visitors. Those who follow will enjoy as well. They are working on the road going in so 10-15 mi per hr. Is suggested. Explained very well by the host. Enjoy as we did.
