Our small family dairy farm is located in the "Northeast Kingdom"area of Vermont. Although the cows are gone the land is still cropped in the summer. The area is large open farmland with spectacular views to the west of the Green Mountains. A 1/4 mile hike uphill takes you to a private and secluded swimming pond (swim at your own risk!) and picnic area. Suggested Local Attractions:- 5 miles to Canadian border -Jay Peak Resort (water park, hiking, golf course, ice arena, good restaurants) -exploring the Northeast Kingdom area of Vermont -Long Trail as well as other trails for hiking -largest waterfall in Vermont as well as some secret swimming holes we can tell you about -Gorgeous area lakes; Willoughby, Memphremagog, Semour, etc.

Vermonters on the Road Details: We have a small family dairy farm on the Canadian border. We host boondockers (Hurdland Farm) and love meeting fellow travelers. We no longer milk cows but we still live on the farm. In the winter we travel around the south and the southwest in our motor home. Home Town: We are located in Newport Center, Vermont (note: NOT Newport City which is 10 miles east of us). Newport Center is very rural with lots of farms. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We love boondocking in the Arizona and New Mexico deserts. Skills or Expertise to Share: We love visiting and sharing travel stories. Vern is a "jack of all trades" as most retired farmers are. Judy loves quilting and talking about it.

Vern and Judy are amazing. This is the second time that I've stayed here. The host could not have been more accommodating! Beautiful spot.

This is a great place to stop for a few days. We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed our hosts and the area. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Vern and Judy were wonderfully welcoming and their notes on regional activities are excellent. the farm’s vistas are picture book perfect. Their grassy walking trail and swimming pond offer a nice experience too. The generius and organized hosts even offer ‘boondockers’ wifi access.

The view is breathtaking. The parking is level and abundant. The host is great! He helped us look for our cat that had escaped the trailer. The swimming hole is worth chrcking out!
