Within walking distance there is a local craft brewery and there are other distilleries in the area. We would be happy to direct people to these locations.
Easy to find on main road, plenty of flat gravel parking. Staff was wonderful and super friendly. A nice easy stop with some great drinks!!
A nice little distillery, but you are next to a main road where cars drive by most of the night. Its a bit noisy here, but alright for a night
We were met by Santa inviting is in. Met and visited then had a great Pineapple Martini and good food.. Abby and Kate our goldens got lots of attention so they thought it was great.
Nice stay very welcoming, Had take out from the restaurant it was convenient and good.
Where else can you be awoken by by Santa greeting the travelers on the road. We had the pleasure of meeting a group of pleasant and helpful folks. And where else could you park in the middle of the outdoor dining area.
Good stopover. Friendly welcome and offer of help, large, level parking area, easy to access. It's on a busy highway so it's going to be a little noisy during the day but it didn't bother me at all. The train that runs nearby is even noisier but only about twice a day so it really isn't a problem...and I like the sound of trains. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone that they consider this a good place to stay to see some beautiful countryside.
Big level gravel lot, there were 3 rvs staying overnight!
Comfy bar & restaurant. GREAT vodka, simple but tasty menu..they even serve breakfast for late risers. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
This was the longest we’ve stayed with one host and we still weren’t ready to leave. We ended each night with a different beverage. The folks were awesome!! We ate, took a tour of the distillery, sat by the fire and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They host several RVers each night. Great location - just 15 minutes outside of Roanoke!
AT&T and Verizon had strong signal!
Greeted me and got me parked. I stayed 3 nights. Parking is on gravel. There is a little creek that runs by the back of the lot. Was nice to sit out and listen to the water. I ate a couple meals that were excellent. Their flavored vodka was excellent. Lots of traffic noise during the day, but pretty quiet at night.
We were greeted warmly when we arrived and invited to pull in wherever we liked. We had a wide space between 2 other boondockers and gladly pulled in. After getting set up we went in to have a bite to eat and see what they had going on. They are doing great things at their distillery. The food was great and their drinks were awesome. We enjoyed an Orange Creamsicle cocktail that tasted just like it said, and an Apple Pie cocktail that was made with their corn whiskey (moonshine) and it was very tasty! They also served breakfast the next morning before we left and it was awesome. We were happy to have this boondocks available.
Larry and the Staff were GREAT. We had dinner the night of our arrival and the food was good and we highly recomend their cocktails - especially the Orange Cream Sickle.
We had a pleasure of staying a few nights. They do serve food and drinks, starting at 10am or so til 7-9 pm during the time frame that we stayed. The staff and the owner were very pleasant and dog friendly. It is close to the road where a lot of trucks and cars transit thru so depending on the time of the day it could be easier to pull in/pull out of and could be a little bit loud. Other than that, a great experience overall.
Our second time staying at FCD was as enjoyable as our first! It's a great place, a great menu and the distilled spirits are fantastic! We look forward to our next visit.
Hosts were so generous and made sure we were fed when we came in after hours by hanging out for our order! Gave us coffee and bread as we left.
Boondock in a gate behind the business with relatively level ground. As others have said there is a passing train, close to the Roanoke Star and downtown area. Great stop in spot!
Stayed 2 nights while visiting family in Roanoke. Host was friendly and very helpful Helping us find a place to park we arrived. Not a drinker but the food was good. Definately a great place to stop for a day or two. Will be back next time we are in the area.
A large, level, gravel parking lot next to a restaurant/bar and distillery. Easy to locate and access. Very friendly host and staff. Lots of road noise and very busy road for entering and exiting. Was great to have an incredible salad and “Quarantini” once we arrived and Rocky, our dog, loved all the attention and treats he received as well! We only stayed one night but it was a nice place! We appreciated the hospitality. We will stop here again.
I can't say enough great things about Larry and his staff. It started with us sending a message about some tire trouble and that we were running a bit late, and they answered us promptly by saying that they would wait for us, and even made sure that we could have dinner ready and waiting if we would like ! We wound up arriving before closing, had some delish dinner ,GREAT cocktails & fun conversation, Larry even invited our 3 fur companions to join us on the patio for treats ! After a good night sleep we woke and had a kick a$$ breakfast, more enjoyable conversation & got some goodies for the road 😁 Thank You all so very much for the hospitality, we can't wait to return ! Sheryl,Rick & the furkids.

Spent one night here. We were greeted by Larry and Kenny. Parked my 40’ 5’er no problem. Had burgers from their grill for dinner. Grateful for their generosity.
We arrived later than planned and let our host know. He was waiting up for us, directed us to a quiet place in his lot and made sure we had everything we needed. We bought some whiskey before we left the following day and had a nice breakfast. A great stay - we will be back!
FCD Moonshine is a fantastic place stay! We only did an overnighter, and we highly recommend them. Easy in and out, great food, and a delightful mix of handcrafted liquors. The hosts are so nice too!! We will definitely return when we are in the area.
The hosts were a pleasure to meet. I dont drink so I missed out on there hand crafted spirits, but I did buy quite a few bottles that friends asked me to get for them. I did eat there and the food was excellent, I got the BBQ plate. I would highly recommend this place even if not staying the night stop by and have a meal and or a drink.
