Leave a reference for this host"Horton State Park" Calumet Camp, We are located in the heart of the Keewenaw Peninsula , lots of water and great ATV trails and motorcycle cruising. We are near mountain biking trails. Our fire pit is on a bluff above Lake Superior shore line. Access to the lake is by sand bluff and rope . Any senior in good shape can handle rope assisted climb. I have a tight parking area . There is an Air Bnb camp on property. Look for "Horton 57451 on the mail box" Calumet MI, 49913. 5th wheels are easy, longer vehicles with long turning radius trucks are tricky. If you have patience it can be done.
There is no drive through or turnaround
Will the guests need to reverse down a long driveway because there's no room to turn around?
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are there tight corners that large rigs may have difficulty navigating?

"We do a lot of last minute trips in the summer, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you."
Copper mines, history, scenic drives, trails, rocks, rocks, rocks, and sand beaches
He was running late but said no problem coming in before he arrived. Easily found it directions were spot on and enjoyed the drive in from town. Backing in was a little tricky but I took it slow and did a lot of GOAL. (Get out and look). I left early the next morning without getting to meet. Would stay again hopefully next year and would want to stay longer since it is short drive to things I’m interested in.
If you're looking to tour Copper Harbor and the peninsula, Calumet Camp is where you want to be. Close enough to all your needs, yet away from all the noise. I have a 29ft TT and Don helped guide me in to be able to hook up to electricity and water...what a surprise! I did have an extra extension for a 30amp connection with me...which helped. If you have a shorter camper, you won't have a problem. I would definitely recommend staying here for a few nights to be able to explore the area and catch a few amazing sunsets from the backyard common area.
Had a little trouble parking but we worked it out, just a little tight for our 30 foot trailer. All else was great. Host gave us some information about the area too. Would stay here again.
My wife and I our grateful that Donhorton44 accepted our request. We enjoyed meeting him and sitting in his yard enjoying the view.
This spot is good for a smaller rig. We spent two nights on 8/6 and 8/7. The first night our host wasn’t home and we had no cell service, but there is an Airbnb on the property and those folks told us the WiFi code. We found later that it was taped to the window of the host’s RV, which is a good thing to remember. We met our host the next day and he is a great, friendly guy.
The backyard backs up to Lake Superior. The sunsets are beautiful.
The second day we drove up to Copper Harbor and then came back to stay again.
