Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostIf you're looking for a quiet place to sleep for the night, this is your place! This is a 15 acre property nestled in Owen county Indiana with 10 acres of pasture and two farm ponds at the back of the property snuggled up to the woodline. Resident deer abound!
The area is quiet and off the beaten path. Perfect for walking and exploring, stargazing, or just relaxing after your journey.
No wild parties/loud music - I work from home during the day and enjoy my peaceful slice of paradise at night.
If your dog chases things, please contain them.
Quiet (i.e 65dB) and generators are OK. If yours is too loud (i.e. 80dB) to be heard speaking in a normal voice standing next to it, it's too loud to run at night.
I have well water (it's good tasting!) on a deep well pump; if you need to top off tanks, you can do so with a hose and some way to transport to your rig.
I don't smoke and I appreciate it if you didn't either. If you do, be kind and to not toss your butts on the ground.
I keep odd hours and may or may not be available in the morning so, no need for in person goodbyes. A simple message letting me know you're leaving on your way down the road is perfectly fine.
If politics are a deal breaker for you, I have Democrat party signs displayed at my driveway. However, I will not attempt to convert your view on politics during your stay and ask that you refrain from attempting to convert mine. You are welcome here no matter what your party alignment, gender or sexual identity, race, religion - or lack of, or age (of you or that of your rig :-).
Access is via a narrow gravel road with tree cover. Very tall RVs will find access challenging. Currently, I have a 99 Winnebago Brave (29ft long, 11'6" tall) that fits under the trees - some twigs/leaves brush the sides here and there but the roof vents/AC/antennas don't touch.
The main driveway is a teardrop so you can pull without a problem. You'll want to drop your toad if you plan to stay more than a night. With the toad attached, you can pull around and park in the drive - then simply pull away and drive off the next morning.
Parking space in the drive is more or less level. I will need advanced notice of arrival so I can move my motorhome out of the way.
I have 15 acres! We'll find a place to park it. There's plenty of driveway and (when it's dry) plenty of grass.
Cagles Mill/Cataract Lake, Lieber SRA, Local wineries and breweries, some killer local Thai food, hiking, fishing, covered bridges, and the tallest waterfall in Indiana are all nearby.
We had an awesome stay at Da' Cabin! We arrived later than expected, but the host was really great about it. She is super friendly and awesome! We really enjoyed chatting with her! This is a beautiful property at a great location. The fall leaves were gorgeous. The dogs and cats and horses were really friendly and sweet, too. I wish we could have stayed here longer, but we were just passing through. 10/10 would recommend.
Phoenix was a gracious host with an easy access parking area clean water clean power peaceful would highly recommend thank you again!!
Her place was in the country and the surroundings we're beautiful. I enjoyed my stay on her property because it was very quiet and peaceful. I really appreciate you letting Doc and I stay on your property. Thank you
She was amazing. We had a great time. Loved the fresh tomatoes from the garden .
PhoenixAcres was a fantastic host. She made us feel welcome and comfortable as soon as we arrived. Her beautiful acreage was supplemented by her friendly conversation. In the evening we watched the horses graze as we ate dinner and our kids chased lighting bugs. 100% recommend staying here if you are in the area.
Stayed here for the night and it was a lovely quiet place. Our host replied quickly and kept us informed with the best driving instructions. We really enjoyed our visit and would come back anytime. Thank you for hosting us! Safe travels on your upcoming trip 🙂
A lovely setting with pasture views. We didn't meet our host but communication was excellent . The location is really off the beaten path - very remote.
This host went above and beyond. Beautiful peaceful setting and wonderful hospitality. Would definitely stay again.
Thanks!!
It would have been lovely to have more of a visit with PhonixAcres unfortunately, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to keep our social distance... but the peace and quiet here make for a wonderful night's rest and my dog certainly appreciated being able to stretch his legs.
I hope to visit again when we can actually talk! Best to you and yours!
