NOT like anything you are used to. This location is a TRUE URBAN SETTING about 2 miles west of downtown Atlanta. The site is at one of my Airbnb properties and is more a place to park to have quick access to all things downtown Atlanta.
Common sense courtesy....duh
This one is an urban location, so access is directly from street
Street, driveway or backyard
The property is an active rental, message me for specifics.
Mercedes Benz Stadium, Centenisl Olympic park, aquarium, etc atc... you get it, all downtown Atlanta venues are less than 2 miles.
Joey was the kindest host you could ask for. He was very accommodating and helpful.
The host was upfront about the location (true urban area in gentrification) which was safe and in prime Atlanta downtown area. World of Coca Cola, Aquarium, Civil Rights Museum and other wonderful attractions were just a few miles away. Offered power, Wifi and water for no charge. Such gracious hosts. Helped me back up and set up. BDW is so popular because of such hosts!
RacerJoe was a life saver! I messaged him on very short notice asking to stay for two nights. This was my first request through BW, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but he responded within minutes and accepted my request!
He was out of town, but texted me to check in and make sure I was okay and see if I needed anything.
Notes: the streets around there are VERY NARROW, and I was a little nervous making my way there, but I made it without incident, and was able to back into his driveway, but I did have to pull up over a curb of the empty lot across the street to get the angle right.
It isn't a very busy street traffic-wise, but the neighborhood kids do play basketball and music until late at night (maybe 10:30/11pm, but I am usually able to fall asleep easily, so it wasn't an issue for me).
I did get cat called a few times during my walks into/back from the city, which made me uncomfortable, but no one approached me, and I didn't walk anywhere past dark.
Thank you again, RacerJoe! You are a life saver!
Personally I enjoy my stay here. But I want to be honest and say that this location is not for everyone. The neighborhood is in transition (aka being gentrified) but the hood people still live in the neighborhood and you will see some hood activities on occasion but ultimately it is harmless mainly entertaining, and if you put your TV or music up loud enough you won't even notice it. Overall I felt safe because I knew it wasn't concerning me so I had nothing to worry about. I never left my RV to go anywhere, for me it was a central location for my friends to come and visit me that I came into town to see. But this would also be the perfect location if you are coming into town for an "Atlanta event" the happens downtown because it's close enough to walk or bike to everything.
The house is an Airbnb that is very beautiful inside and out. But the house to the left, right and front, and back are not in transition yet. And the guests are also mainly from that neighborhood from what I could see. You will be parked in the driveway left of the house. I have a 26ft Class C RV with a 3 for the hitch of the back for my scooter and I fit really good and snug and there still space in the driveway in front for a car. The water spigot is right there on that side of the house so I used my 30 ft house to hook up with plenty of slack. The 15 amp plug is on the porch on the left side of the door so I ran my cord under the mat so no one would trip on it and I was good. The driveway also has a tree privacy wall that provides nice shade during the day.
Overall this was a great stop for 3 nights. Like I said I had no problems here. I lived in Atlanta for 7 years so I know the different neighborhoods and cultures there and what to expect and I blend in, so I wasn't bothered by it, but this spot is NOT for everyone. The owner Joe came by and he was very nice, accommodating, and helpful. My t-mobile signal was garbage there and he let me have access to the wifi and it worked out great. I would stay here again.
