R was a wonderful host. He accepted my last-minute request for a 5-night stay after my other plans fell through. Life saver!
I stayed here as a home base, unhitched my camper and visited Baton Rouge one day, and New Orleans another.
There is a water hose, but no electricity, so be sure to have a generator so you can have some AC! :)
Before I left, R invited me to have dinner with him and some of the neighbors - what a nice host!
I will definitely look up R again if I am in the area.
Thank you for everything, R!
Host was really nice and accommodating, he gave us some fresh farm eggs. Site was very comfortable with privacy and shade. We have a 40’ motorhome and had no issue getting in or out
What an Awesome Host...A Beautiful Piece of Property... Enjoyed the Crawfish and Shrimp...Lol he even offered my wife a Goat. We will be back for sure can't wait to see the progress on the property
Our host is the kindest, generous gentleman. We enjoyed his company, meals together and fresh eggs.
Nice location, easy drive to many plantations and into New Orleans.
A very hospitable, generous and friendly host! A lovely property! We would definitely stay here again.
What a great stay. Thank so much. I enjoyed our chats and liked hearing your plans for supporting tourism in the area.
Our host was an amazing local. He gave us some much information about where we were at, what to see and do. It was a great stay
This is the best “driveway” we have stayed in. Your host is an amazing fellow with lots of stories to tell. He has spent time in many countries and will be happy to relate his experiences. There are no hookups but you can top-off your water tank. The location is near many towns and old plantations.
Wonderful, quiet place to stay. Host Robert is very friendly
Great stay, great area, great host. I loved it so much that extended my stay.
our host was friendly & accommodating & a very interesting person, great history & local knowledge, water on site & firewood for campfire, got us crawfish, green bean casserole, corn & lobster pie for a nice local area feast -nice & spicy! Site is perfectly level and safe & quiet. He brought us some fresh chicken & duck eggs that were excellent. Good stay!
We’re so grateful for the quiet, peaceful stay at BellaTerre. Ours was a quick stop (and we had a sick kid, so we didn’t get to visit much), but the host made us feel so welcome and even gifted us some farm fresh eggs! This is a nice place to stay that is safe and has plenty of space.
The host warmly welcomed me and my cat. She is normally very shy, but she liked his voice and had to investigate!! Our spot was very private and very level. The fresh eggs were beautiful with a variety of colors on the shells - and delicious!! I would highly recommend this host and his spot.
We feel so lucky to have spent the night here in thibodoux. The host was very gracious and flexible with our changing plans and made us feel at home. His land is beautiful and definitely worth visiting!
This was our second stay. Wonderful host
and has the best eggs! Beautiful property in the spring, love to stay here.
Our host was so kind and generous. He brought us coffee w/chickory and also brought us a Cajun crawfish boil feast with blue crabs, shrimp, corn and potatoes. We really enjoyed his hospitality. On the day our stay was to end, we had a car pull out in front of us and put our truck in the shop for what we expect to be a week or so. He offered to let us stay until we get our truck fixed. He is the definition of a true southern gentleman.
This spot is easy to get into and quite at night. The host is amazing and has so much knowledge about the history of the surrounding area and it's families. We didn't get to spend nearly enough time here because there was so much to see and do. We just used it as a stop over on our travels. Next time we will have to plan a little more time to explore the area!
Host was fantastic including buying me dinner surprise. Checked up on me a couple times. Absolutely a place to stay in the Louisiana.
Unexpectedly accommodating, lots of options, Half mile walk from front to back!
Hope to spend a few days next trip!
...and good luck with your aspirations too.
Great host with a good amount of property and ideas of building it into a greater potential. Fresh eggs and fruit were offered from the estate. Was offered an extended stay but wanted to avoid incoming bad weather. Only downside is the Louisiana mud. Our visit had a duration of heavy rains and when it does, the property does pond, just as any other low lying land. Definitely will return post covid to explore the things we couldn't get to and excited to see what the host does with the property
Bella Terre is a beautiful location and the host is kind, generous, and very interesting to talk to. We enjoyed our stay immensely!
Our host was super friendly and helpful! He offered suggestions of things to do and places to go in the area. He was exceptionally generous. He gave us fresh eggs from his chickens and geese and oranges from his yard. He also treated us to a full seafood dinner of local crawdads, shrimp, and crabs! We hope to return at some point in the future.
We can't say nearly enough about how incredible our time was at Bella Terre. We pulled in after a long week of travel and met a truly remarkable host. We were instantly cared for and graciously looked after while we were there. He gifted our family in some truly remarkable and unexpected ways. We felt like family. It really was just what our road weary family needed. We heard some amazing stories of a truly remarkable life and got to spend what for us was some precious time. We can't thank you enough!
The hospitality at BellaTerre is amazing. Robert's heart and passion shines thru. The ideas and plans he has for the area is inspiring. Our space on the grass was level, water was available. It rained most of the time we were there so in true Louisiana style it was #sticktoyamuddy.
Bella Terre is an amazing experience. We had a ton of room for the kids and dog to explore. Lots of privacy and space. The host was amazing and brought us some fresh eggs and oranges and even a morning paper. The kids loved seeing the chickens, geese, and donkey on the end of the property. We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely stop again if we are in the area. Best stay to date!
Nice quiet peaceful property. Many choices on where to set up. We only spent a short amount of time with the host but wish it could have been more. He had many interesting stories. As an added bonus he brought us fresh eggs & oranges!
We had a great stay with Bella Terre! It was super quiet, with a nice setting with trees. Our host showed us utmost hospitality, and even provided us with some farm fresh eggs. Looking forward to a longer visit next time!
Thank you very much for such a great stay. Host was extremely welcoming and accommodating to ensure we had the best visit possible. Would highly recommend if in the area!
We stayed at Belle Terre going east and we’re so impressed we stayed again when going back west. Had a great stay both times; very much appreciated.
Our stay at Bella Terre was very much enjoyed. We swapped travel stories and gifts and he was even able to join us for a meal. We wish him luck with all his future endeavors and will likely stay with him again on our way back through.
I'm at a loss for the words that would express just how nice, thoughtful, generous Robert was to my wife and myself. Just when I had thought I met the nicest hoast ever, Robert surpassed everyone by a mile!
If you don't stay at Bella Terre at least once, it's your loss!
Robert, we will be back!
Thank You is not enough!

The host at Bella Terre is a delight. He treated us like family. If you want to learn about the local history and explore small towns, plantations or the bayou, this is an ideal spot.
We had a wonderful time here. Our host was amazing and took great care of us. Wish we could have spent more time with him but we had a busy schedule. We loved the location. The town is cute and had everything we needed. Also - hit up Zams Tours to see the alligators. Will definitely come back.
Very nice quiet property, nice level spots to park. Lots of birds and even saw an owl. Water was available, and that was fine as we didn't need other hookups. Fun things to do in the area, but the very best part was our gracious host, a true example of southern hospitality. He made our stay very special. We will happily visit again when in the area.
We had a great stay here. In fact, we stayed an extra 2 nights. The host is a super guy, extremely hospitable and generous. We couldn't ask for more. We had long chats and we will surely be back. The area and site are both beautiful. Thanks so much, once again. Highly recommended!
BellaTerre is an oasis amongst our materialistic world. BelleTerre is a gracious host, offering a variety of citrus fruit and farm fresh eggs as he can. His sheep, geese, ducks, chickens, and donkey along with some local wildlife like owls and skunks, made the setting like you are hundreds of miles from civilization. BellaTerre is intent on making your stay as enjoyable as possible and freely shares stories of his worldwide travels. I would definitely stay again.
Beautiful property, well cared for by a really gracious and generous host. Eggs and fruit on offer, grown on the property were welcome. A kind host who spends all day caring for others. Would definitely recommend
It was a gear stay. Easy access. Great gentleman. Highest recommendation
Things are not always what they seem; Bella Terre is advertised as having the capacity of up to 52 RVs. And, technically that’s true.
But it’s a huge, empty, meticulously groomed and cared for piece of Thibodaux history.
The grounds boast individual, mostly flat sites with water hook ups.
The land, and its owner, have a great history. Probably enough for an interesting book.
Some of the environmental improvements made over the years, and ones planned for the future, are remarkable.
The host has cute critters (a dozen fresh eggs our first morning). And he oozes southern generosity, cultural pride, and roots that reach out well beyond home.
Bella Terre is a charming location with an even more charming host. We loved it here and highly recommend you plan a stay at Bella Terre. You will not regret it. If you are interested in experiencing true southern hospitality, this is the spot.
Our host is a real gratious sincere southern gentleman. The land we parked on is surrounded by very tall old trees. Beautiful place to share stories. This is a place you will want to stay awhile. Short drives to many plantations. 45 mins into New Orleans to see the sights and come back for a quiet evening.
Thank you Boondocker Bella Terre. We will come back.
