This was our
Second stay at Shalamar. Hosts were there to greet us with a smile and some freshly made
Peanut clusters. Nice spot close
to the interstate. If you are
Coming from the south stay with the interstate. We followed lazy wazy and she brought us through 40
some miles of backroads. Very scenic and not a problem pulling the little TT. Would not have been fun in the 5th wheel. Look forward
To seeing you in Michigan. Thank you for opening your beautiful property to us. Jane & Andy
Our hosts went above and beyond our expectations in every way. So accommodating. Very friendly and such a lovely farm. Plan to return. Miss conversing with people.
We stayed at Shalamar Farm for the second time on our trip back to Chicago. They provide the experience we hoped for when decided to RV. Wonderful couple, beautiful farm and incredibly welcoming. We could not expect a better overnight experience. And... they have full hookups. Made both the beginning and end or our long vacation memorable. Steve and Linda have set the bar for what a Boondockers Welcome experience should be. We will definitely return!
Thank you again for the hospitality. Like always our stay was pleasant, relaxing, and restful. See you in the summer.
Thank you again for hosting at Shalamar. This has to be one of the best places we have stayed while traveling across the country. Hope to see you again down the road.
Thank you again for the opportunity to stay at your place. Steve was a great help with the issue I had with our coach. Thank you again, and see you next time.
We could not have had a better experience. This was our first stay with Boondockers, it could not have been better. The location is beautiful, the host were very helpful, and the animals were so sweet. We will be back!!
I couldn't have hoped for a better! The hosts on this beautiful, peaceful property welcomed us like friends. They greeted us, helped us park and hook up. They shared advice, encouragement, smiles and offered assistance with anything that might come up. We instantly felt relaxed and welcomed. I would go out of my way to stay here again!
We arrived on a snowy day and both Linda and Steve were out to help us bring our RV onto their beautiful property. Both of their kitties were out to welcome us too. We immediately felt at home and wish COVID-19 wasn’t a barrier as we would have liked to have spent more time with this most gracious couple.. They provided full hook ups for a very nominal fee, and truly made you feel very welcome in every way.
Their property is lovely, if you stay you will want to return.
Oh and be sure to say hello to George the horse!
We arrived shortly before dark and were met with big smiles and great enthusiasm, super good communication. George their quarter horse was also happy for the company. Beautiful setting, full hookup and super close to the interstate yet super quiet. Highly recommend.
We only had one nights stay, wish we had stayed longer! Nice to have full hookups and perfectly level spot. We had a very nice socially distanced conversation with our hosts who met us and showed us where to park And hook up. Super nice people-and gorgeous home and farm. We loved watching George their quarter horse run around in the morning. Hope to visit again someday and have more time conversing. Thanks again to our gracious hosts.
We have to leave our primary campground every 2 weeks for 2 days Shalamar Farm is perfect landing spot with wonderful hosts!
George, the horse, and his humans, were wonderful hosts on a beautiful homestead. The humans were warm and welcoming, supplying full hookups, if needed. One if my favorite places!
This was our first Boonedocking experience. Linda and Steve were fantastic. I felt like I could talk to Linda forever. She left me with some very wise advice. The property is so gorgeous. George greeted us as did the kitties. All put up with our puppy who’s new to camping. This being our first stay ever, I wondered, ‘What do people get out of hosting? Why do they do it?’ I get it. Even with a one night stay, I feel I had an experience I would remember For a long time that makes me think about hosting myself. Thanks to you both!!
Beautiful place with all the comforts you need for a good nights sleep. Fantastic hosts that we enjoyed some social time with before heading over to their garden and picking a few ripe tomatoes.
Wonderful property with great views and a gorgeous sunset.
And then there was George who was a great host sharing his home and greeting us goodnight and good morning and sweet furry brothers Lowell and Leroy.
Hope to stop by again! Enjoy your camping time as well - just get out there and have fun and make wonderful memories!
We had an excellent time. Thank you for being so awesome. We loved our morning chat. Safe travels
We met this lovely couple along our adventure crossing the country, we had so much fun! Their cats and the horse are so pretty and friendly! Wait, the fresh eggs are unforgettable! We walked around their land and talked about so much stuff, I hope we can meet more people like them around, they are just amazing. Just a reminder: We'll be back soon! Haha :)
It’s our spot when we have to leave every 14 days from county park, we are full timers. The hosts are wonderful people!
Can't recommend these hosts enough! They were super friendly and accomodating. Quiet country location. I would stay here again in a heartbeat (and probably will!).
Equine elegance awaits you in central Indiana. The Shalamar Farm estate is carpeted by meticulously groomed lush green fields with a balance of modern and traditional farm style. The new home is completely encircled with a resort-style covered deck with a screened section perfect for an evening retreat with cool beverages in the summer. The welcoming and gracious hosts gave us a tour of the property, invited us over for a drink on their deck, and allowed us to pick a bundle of tomatoes and strawberries from their garden. A friendly horse lives close to the campsite in a wide green pasture with two of his own apple trees and will likely run up to greet you with a kiss on the hand. Full hook-ups provided at your campsite are a relief from the warm summer sun and are worth the small fee to enjoy cool air and a relaxing shower. The quiet combination of distant, soothing country sounds, farm fresh air, on a modern setting makes Shalamar Farm a compelling attraction for your next Boondockers Welcome stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Shalamar Farm. The experience was made more enjoyable because of the hospitality by the hosts. You will not find a more enjoyable couple to spend some time with.
In addition to the hosts, their farm was very relaxing and we were immediately put at ease after a long day of driving. If our travels ever take us to Indiana (and I’m sure they will), we will be sure to stop by for another restful stay!
The hosts were welcoming and came out to help us make the turn with our 40' 5th wheel and get hooked up. The spot was level and there was no need to unhitch the truck for an overnight stay. Full hookups were wonderful as the temperature was hot! Enjoyed the view of the pasture and the horse. Would stay here again.
Steve & Linda were excellent hosts! We enjoyed the serene setting. It allowed us to catch our breath after taking care of aged parents experiencing health concerns. Enjoyed seeing George the horse from our windows and the beautiful green pasture he grazed through. Having FULL HOOKUPS (50 amp), was an added bonus! We have to leave our park every 14 days so this was a great landing spot! Highly recommend.
Laid back farm to enjoy the beauty of farm life! We enjoyed our hosts Steve & Linda as well as George, the horse, and two barn cats! Very pleasant and thankful for FULL hookups! We hope to return!
Visually area and and good hookups. Friendly hosts, wish we could have had more contact with them but this was during the Covid-19 isolation. Boondockers Welcome has been great for us as all the RV parks are closed and we are Full Timers trying to get to a Workamping job several states away.
In addition to the great hosts there is George their horse. Wish I could have spent more time with him!
