This is an RV lot located in the Blue Ridge mountains of Western North Carolina. It sits in a community called
Linville Land Harbor, that has mostly homes with some RV lots. This community has a beautiful lake at the entrance. There is a dog park to allow your dogs off leash. There is a hiking trail that goes along the river and one that goes around the lake.
There is a building on the lot with a covered deck and picnic table. Guest are welcome to use the deck. I will not be on site so guests will have this lot and deck to themselves. Close by are grocery stores and anything else you would need. This community sits on the boarder
of Newland and Linville.
This community is part of a POA (property owners association), so there are some rules that apply. Please keep your dogs on a leash when walking them and of course pick up after them. If they won’t leave the lot, then off leash is fine with me. If you smoke, please do not leave evidence of butts or packages. You can have a small container fire on the uncovered part of the deck
(Please not on the covered part) fires would need to be in a container. I have an old charcoal grill on the deck that I use for fires, you are welcome to use it. There are bears in this area so just be aware of that. Since there are bears be sure that trash is in a tightly closed container and take it with you when you leave, and keep an eye on your pets. The bears are NOT aggressive, just be aware you may see some. Please no loud music or activities at night, this is a neighborhood.
This RV Lot is in a mountain neighborhood, but it’s not steep. The road is paved. You can only back an RV in this drive by driving the road in a certain direction, I would share that info when needing directions to the lot. There are
Some tree branches that grow over the drive but I’ll make sure they stay trimmed.
The driveway is long enough to accommodate most RVs and a vehicle. The opening of the driveway Is wider and can accommodate a tow vehicle.
I can’t get up there to prepare the property until May. But it could possibly be fine to use without any preparation. I can have my family check the property.
There is a lot to explore in this area. The Blueridge parkway is just 15 minutes away and offers gorgeous views and many hiking tails and things to see along the way. Also close by is: Grandfathers mountain featuring the mile high swinging bridge, hiking tails, and a small zoo. The towns of Blowing Rock,
Banner Elk, and Boone offer shopping and good places to eat. Valley Crucis is a small town and has a Mast general store.
There are many places to fly fish.
Wonderful and quiet evening under the stars with only the sounds of wildlife, the way it should be. We are so thankful for the generosity of the host in sharing this experience with others.
Outdoorgirl's communication was lightning fast, and the mountain shed was exactly what we were looking for — a quiet getaway for a change of scenery. It was lovely to get off the overcrowded trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway to explore the lake and river trails in the community where the mountain shed's located. We also enjoyed strolling the neighborhood.
We were apprehensive about taking this trip — our first since our state lifted stay at home measures — and everything was absolutely perfect. Outdoorgirl was not on-site, but answered all my questions very promptly.
Thank you, thank you for the kindness and generosity. We'll be back!
This is a very nice site. It is quiet, in a great location and relatively easy to access. Nothing but good things to say.
This is a great place to stay in the mountains in a residential area. Host was outstanding and kept in contact the whole time. Unfortunately we didn’t see any bears. Friendly neighbors. Great walking and site seeing in the the area. Traveled to Boone and Blowing Rock due to all day rain.
The most accommodating host, she went out of her way to make the stay perfect. I'm only sorry I have just one night to visit. An exceptional location and neighborhood. Thank you......Casey
We stayed one night at Outdoorgirl's "mountain shed". The community is a great little break away from the buzzing society that most have become used to. The weather here is about 10 degrees cooler than most surrounding areas. This site is a perfect launch point to Boone, multiple National Forests, Blue Ridge Parkway, and much more. The site itself is about as peaceful as you can find. We had dark skies and very quiet night without hearing a peep from anyone around. The deck area is great to have a little picnic or sit out by a campfire in a grill. If needed, all utilities are setup for any standard RV. Beyond the site, the area, the community, was the kindness of the host. She stayed in contact the entire time, provided tips for getting there and about the area, and made the experience almost feel unreal with her kindness. Many of us are on the lookout for great new places, this stay delivered that and more with a connection to great person as well. Thank you!!
Donna was very helpful when I contacted her with some questions.
