We live in a quiet neighborhood with a lake across the street. Nice neighborhood to take a walk or ride your bikes. Not a lot of traffic. We live near the DeSoto National Forest that has hiking and biking trails. We are located less than 10 miles north of I-10 and about 15 miles north of highway 90 and the Gulf of Mexico.
We are close to an outlet mall, Military bases, casinos and lots of interesting places to explore, Museums, a brand new Aquarium, the beach, etc. We have lots of events that happen yearly like Mardi Gras parades, a 7 week long horse show in Feb-Mar, Cruising the Coast the 1st weeks of Oct (huge classic car event that goes on for a week). We are also an easy drive to New Orleans for a nice day trip (appx 1-1 1/2 hrs away).
Please no smoking on property
No generators after 8pm or before 10am
No loud music
Dogs on leash, but ok off leash in our fenced backyard. Please clean up after them.
No lake use unless you are with myself or my husband (neighborhood covenants)
We live on a paved road that is a dead end. It is best to go to the end of the road and turn around, then back into the driveway because of the drainage ditch to the right of the driveway by the mailbox. We own a 36’ Class A that we have parked in the driveway both ways but it is best to back in as the road is a bit narrow in front of the house with a slight ditch and tree across the street. The driveway is also curved in an S shape so we will be glad to spot you down it as you are coming in.
Also on the main road coming into the development there is a railroad crossing, which we have no problem crossing over, and a small hill coming up to the stop sign. There are a couple lower hanging branches on the neighbors’ tree across the street, but if you drive closer to our side of the road it should not be a problem. Not a lot of traffic on our section of the road to deal with.
We are located on 1+ acres, and can park your vehicle in driveway or the yard near your rig.
The beach, Ship Island Ferry, new Aquarium, museums.
Where do I start? We made a mistake on our initial request on dates and realized without much notice and they graciously allowed us to stay though they were not home to greet us.
Sure, the spot is level, and easy to back into; even in the dark. Also, it is a nice neighborhood to walk around, ride your bike and get a quiet night sleep but the hosts make this spot.
G&M shared so many lovely stories, advice and experiences with us it is easy to become fast friends. We enjoyed pizza at the beach, s'mores under the stars and even a dinner before saying our goodbyes.
We will cherish the time and memories we created. Thank you Rambling Rovers!
This was my second visit with these hosts and although the first visit was wonderful, this visit was even better. The hosts welcomed me as if I was a family member. I enjoyed spending time with them and I consider them friends. I look forward to our future meetings. So grateful for these kind Hosts.
I had a great experience with these hosts. They went out of their way to provide me with everything I needed and more. We took walks with their sweet dog, had interesting conversations and shared a meal. I was Lucky to find this location during this difficult time. The lakeside location is serene and the hosts were fun folks, very enjoyable and so welcoming. I would definitely recommend this location and hope to return soon.
Monob58 was a great help in getting us situated. She gave us suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We were also able to hook up to her electric which was a great help. I would recommend this place.
We were well taken care of at this stop. Our Hosts were great.
Thank YOU for all your care and attention to our needs.
