Our museum is filled with over 170 automobiles and over 200 "collections" of things that are not cars. Our awesome collection includes three Batmobiles, nine Steinway grand pianos (which Steinway says is the "finest private collection in the world!"), boats, boat motors, motorcycles, bicycles, brass cash registers, Case knives, radios, tractors, sports memorabilia, and much, much more.
1. Make your reservation online-- PLEASE include real name and telephone number. (User names don't help us.) If you are trying to reserve on the weekend with less than 24 hours notice, you will need to call Museum directly. We do have a few black-out dates due to Museum events.
2. When you arrive, you must CHECK-IN with the Museum Cashier before 4:45pm EASTERN time. Do NOT just see other campers and assume this is where you are supposed to park. (If you are coming from the WEST, make sure you remember you will lose an hour just west of Tallahassee!)
3. Park in front of the Museum and come inside WITH your driver’s license for ID.
4. Gate is locked at 5pm. Opens most mornings at 7am.
5. PLEASE! Call ONLY if you need to cancel. 850/942-0137.
6. We appreciate--but don't require--folks to visit the Museum during their stay. Museum hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm Saturday, and 11am-5pm Sunday.
Overnight parking is in a well established grassy lot. Access is off of asphalt road/driveway. Easily accessible for all size rigs.
No need to even un-hook! We have plenty of room.
Make sure to CALL the Museum to confirm your dates. Your reservation is not confirmed until we receive a call. 850/942-0137 You MUST be checked in prior to 5pm for your stay. We close at 5pm sharp.
This was our first boondockers trip. The location was perfect. We arrived too late to view the museum but were kindly directed to a movie theater with special low prices on Tuesdays.
The next morning we spent 2 hours in the fascinating museum. There is something for everyone there.
We highly recommend visiting. The RV sites are flat and some shady spots too.
We Enjoyed our stay here, the ladies here were so nice and the place had plenty room to pick a spot to sleep. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a spot. First Boondocking experience was a success.
Great time visiting in Tallahassee, great location under the trees, several others visiting. Lady in office very friendly and helpful, would love to return.
Beautiful large shaded lawn for parking. The museum was extensive and diverse...unexpected and fascinating!
Great location and convenient right off the interstate. Several rigs were there and they had plenty of parking. East checkin
This boondocker place was one of the best that we’ve stayed. Lots of space, shade and level ground. We came in after 4:00 on a Saturday so we didn’t have time to go through the museum because they don’t open until 11:00 on Sunday. Next time through we will get in early enough to visit.
Great place to park it overnight. Large choice of spots. Big lawn area. Big. The museum was awesome. Lots of memories from cars to the other displays. Very enjoyable and we will return if needed. All staff was wonderful.
Beautiful grounds to park on. Don’t miss the museum.
This auto museum is amazing! From the young lady who checked us in for the RV stay and entry ticket for the museum to the facilities and grounds themselves, a complete first class operation. The displays within the museum is worth the meager cost of admission leaving you wondering how one man could acquire all of the items within.
The RV area is an expansive lawn area, level and shaded in areas. No hookups but boondocking couldn't be made more comfortable. We recommend this stop to all of our BW comrades!
This was a very nice place to stay. Easy to check in. Felt very safe there.
Very nice. On the grass at the front. Near both I10 and us 90 but traffic noise was minimal. Would stay here again
The museum was right off I10 and have ample parking space for big or small rigs. It was fun for my two toddlers to see vintage and new cars and various historical items that you wouldn’t think of finding in a automobile museum. A farm to table restaurant was within walking distance across the street and so was a traditional roadside diner. Excellent location for Boondocking if traveling from west Florida heading south. Thanks for having us.
We loved our stay here at TACM, and we especially loved the museum! They have a huge yard in front that can fit several RVs, and has plenty of room to move the rigs where you want them. We visited the museum upon arrival and were amazed at the quality of the displays! We even found out that we had an uncle that made some of the boats they had! Their collections were awesome, and the quality of their collections was also supberb!
I would definitely recommend a stay with this host, as they are very polite to their patrons and are happy to help you where needed.
We pulled in about 4pm & checked in with cashier. Very large area to park our 58’ truck/5th wheel rig. The site was very level. There were2 Class A’s, 1 Class B & us. SO much room!! We took a nice walk early evening, and visited the 3 Geocaches onsite. We made plans to walk again in the morning to look for the Water Buffalo. Success! Took a bunch of photos & video. Then took in the museum. It is really an amazing place. The hubby could have spent many more hours than he had time for. Some road noise, but nothing that prevented a comfortable nights sleep!!
My husband and I stayed at this location while beginning our trip out to Texas from Florida. This is a real gem of a place and we are so glad that we booked this stay! The museum staff (Cherie) was amazing and gave us a thorough introduction to their very unique museum. There is literally something for EVERYONE here to enjoy. Including the herd of water bufallo that roam the owner's property adjacent to the museum. The parking is more than ample with very easy access and completely level. The night we stayed there were a total of 11 campers of various sizes from small vans to large class A's. There would have been easily room for several more with no one infringing on anyon elses space. They close and lock the gate at 5pm each evening, so be aware that if you want to get dinner out you can walk across the highway to the most amazing restaurant we have been to in quite a while. The Farm to Tabe restaurant is literally FARM to Table with their small farm on property housing many rabbits, chickens, turkeys, quail, and bees. Not to mention the many plants, vegetables, mushrooms (very cool way they grow these on logs), and much more. You need to make this a destination!
This was a great, easy overnight stay! Easy check in and a large grassy area for parking. Beautiful grounds for a little evening walk. Convenient to many stores for quick errands. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Lots of rain with the big polar vortex rain that came down. Standing water in places, bit gravel under it. Had no traction problems with a 40' Bluebird.
Quiet considering proximity to interstate.
Even though the the roads are right there it was not too bad. We got a great nights sleep. Thanks for the stay
A little noisy but good access to I-10. It was a bit cold but this is a cold week for Florida. Loved the Batmobiles and old cars. Sandy at front desk was awesome. Worth it to stay here and visit museum.
Easy access from the highway, without the highway noise. Large open field - there were 3 of us and we all had plenty of room. Wish I had gotten there earlier to enjoy the museum. Next Time!! Pretty park like area to walk outside.
Awesome place to stay staff was very helpful and responsive. we rolled into late to see the museum but we will be back
Check in was easy and staff were very friendly. Very much enjoyed our quiet stay. The grounds are well kept and overall level. Nice area for a walk in the evening. Thank you so much!
The grounds around the museum are nice for walking. The rv parking area is flat with some shade. The entry gate is closed at night and offers some security. There is a walk through gate. We enjoyed our dinner at the Farm to Table across the street. The museum is interesting. We would stay here again.
The host were very friendly and accommodating. We were disappointed that we were not able to arrive in time to visit the car museum. The grounds were very nice and quite, overall a pleasant stay. We look forward to another visit in the future.
What a wonderful overnight we experienced! TACM is a beautiful place- the grounds are just lovely. We were directed to an open grassy area where 2 other RV's were parked. We all had plenty of room - everyone parked with respect to one another. We did not have a chance to visit the museum but we hope to at another time. The people that we spoke to who had arrived earlier and went to the museum said that it was well worth it.
Thank you TACM for allowing us to have a safe and peaceful evening. For dinner, we walked across the road to the Farm to Table Restaurant, and WOW!! so fresh and delicious. I wish I could visit there again! Once again...thank you for opening your grounds to Boondockers!
This place is was a lot of fun and a safe quite place to stay. We broke down on our way there and Sherrie went out of her way to make sure we had a safe place to spend the night. We also visited the Museum and it was really full of amazing fun history. There is so much stuff that we did not have time to see t all. you could spend the day in here. We had a level grassy spot that was sold ground to park the night and we were fenced in a secure safe location all to our selves.
We really want to give a huge thank you to Sharrie and TACM for taking such great care of our family.
Unfortunately, we arrived very close to closing time and didn’t get to experience the museum, but the grounds were very beautiful and we feel very safe there. Highly recommend.
What this place lacks in peace & quiet (highway noise) it makes up for in the uniqueness of the museum. Even if your not a big car fan, there are enough other items in the museum to make it interesting for most anyone. Great place to visit!
What a great place thoroughly enjoyed the place More than just an Auto Museum. Just reopened when I arrived so needless to say No crowds Plenty of open space and level. Host was very Helpful had the place to myself with 3 hours of enjoying the collection. Loved the outboard motor collection, There is something for everyone regardless of age. Highly recommend this stop. again Thank you
This is a good place for a quick night. The old cars and pianos were cool and though the spot is just a grassy lawn, it's alright if you can run your generator or if it isn't too hot. There's a cool farm to table restaurant across the street with outdoor seating and a Publix, Subway, Wendy's, and Chinese place that are about a quarter of a mile away.
Mary and the gang at the TAM are the nicest there is and a perfectly quiet, tree shaded lot with plenty of room to park our big ole toyhauler. Didn't get a chance to visit the museum but on our list for next time for sure. Thanks again Mary for your hospitality!
This was a very unique stay. They have a museam that contains outstanding cars and also, anything from sports memorabilia to restored pianos. Something for everyone. Also plenty of spaced to park in grassy area that is locked and secures at night. There was also some water buffalo next to the property. We also saw a bald eagle near the buffalo.
What a great place to overnight! We were directed to a giant flat open area with some beautiful mature trees. Access was super easy. We would stay here again... but next time I’ll make sure to put some time in the schedule to properly go through the museum because there’s A LOT to see!
Beautiful park like setting convenient to I-10 and an amazing museum. This awesome collection starts with the horseless carriage and follows automotive history to the present day and beyond.
The Tallahassee Automobile Museum was safe, secure and a great place to stay. Make sure you allow yourself a couple of hours to visit the museum. Start in the back and see the carriage that carried President Lincoln's casket then come forward to see the newer cars. It is not just cars. There are guns, tractors, bikes, sports equipment, radio, etc. Very interesting
The Tallahassee Automobile Museum was a fun place to visit. Collection after collection...cars, outboard motors, pocket knives, bat mobiles, golf clubs, and on, and on! And if that’s not enough - Abraham Lincoln’s hearse! Very unique place to wander through! Well worth the $15 admission!
We stayed on the grounds of the museum. We were given directions on where to park our RV and tow vehicle by the friendly lady at the hostess counter at the entrance to the museum. We had no problem leveling without blocks or levelers. There were 4 other RV’s for the overnight. It rained quite steady for a couple of hours, but the grassy grounds stayed firm, and presented no problems. My husband and I would highly recommend a visit to the museum as well as a nice overnight on the grounds!
A huge area along with 4 other overnighters. Great to see the museum, something for everyone, so many different collectibles. Our stay was great, even though it rained, the museum is indoors.
Museum has many fine exhibits and parking was easy, spacious and level. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend seeing the museum.
