Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostI’m just off the lake. I’m building new cabin and moving part of old and tearing down the rest this spring. So some construction being done.
Made a nice spot for a trailer and possibly more. Several tent pads and possibly some amenities available. I plan to run at least 30 amp service to the main pad I had made for the trailer. I haven’t tested, but I have a sewage pipe run out to that spot. As will run a water line.
Just be respectful with noise, pets, trash, etc. I’ll do my best to accommodate. But I might be working, at a fire call or meeting. So be patient. Pick up dog poop, cigarette butts, general trash. If I’m able I’ll help get rid of your bagged trash. I’ll let you know where and what you can burn in the fire pit. Let me know your needs ahead of time and I’ll do what I can to accommodate you. Garage is off limited unless invited.
We need to see if our dogs are compatible.
Generators should be off after 10 PM
I guess it depends on when and who else is here. But we need to discuss your needs vs what is going on here. My kids come in the summer some. My girls are running the grandmas marathon...
And at the same time I’ll respect your space.
I’ll have a list of any additional rules...
You’ll have to come down off blacktop on a well maintained gravel road. It can be soft in the spring when the ice is coming off. Small hill on driveway with level spots to park. Large rigs come down our road, but caution turning in as the shoulders drop as coming off blacktop. Just turn wide.
Some hanging trees but all avoidable.
I have a big driveway area
Please confirm when you will be here before leaving home or wherever yoU are coming from.
Fred’s meats... mmm, bacon! Sorry can’t list it all. Haha.
A favorite for us is the Ely blueberry festival (100 miles but worth it.)
Iron Mine lookouts and tours.
Many fishing lakes.
70 miles to Duluth... waterfront, north shore, train museum, shops...
Great bike trails and on a good atv trail. Note: atv’s are legal to ride on county roads. Check registration requirements at MN DNR.
I had a fine time with Ben. A fountain of north country wisdom. We ate good, as promised. Fred's meat market just down the road has an abundance of treasures. I loaded up before I left the area. He let me stay an extra night when plans got changed, as they will. Nice flat area with full hookups. Easy in and out.
