We are located north of DeLand and just south of DeLeon Springs in the bird sanctuary called “Glenwood”. We are on a gated road just east of Grand Ave. it’s a quiet*, safe, and tranquil neighborhood that is convenient to many of the area’s gems. We can provide softened well water to refill your tank (bring a jug), 30-amp power, and Wi-Fi. The local KOA is 15 minutes away and has a dump station ($15). The site has early morning and late afternoon shade. We will provide a special gate code as necessary. No loud motorcycles or loud cars permitted; violates our deed restrictions. Suggested Local Attractions: Swimming, kayaking, and eating at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant at DeLeon Springs State Park; Mountain biking at Chuck Lennon Park; wildlife observing, birding, hiking, at Lake Woodruff NWR; St John River Eco Tours at Crow’s Bluff Marina; Bike riding at Lake Beresford Park. We are 10 minutes from downtown DeLand where there are breweries, a wine bar, live music, plenty of restaurants, art and shopping. There is also yoga & skydiving! Area activities include Juniper Springs in the Ocala Natl Forest (30 min) Blue Springs State Park (30 min), Tomoka State Park (40 min), Daytona Beach (45 min), Disney, Universal, etc. (60 min traffic depending) * The City Limits Taproom & Grill is hosting bands on Fridays & Saturdays. Even though they are 600 yards away, the music can be heard in our yard.

Location

Access Road Conditions: We have a lane that goes around the edge of the property. Because of a light pole’s location, longer RVs have to go to the end of the street, drive around the cul-de-sac, and then drive back to gain access to the lane. It is partially grass then crushed concrete. Hanging tree limbs aren’t currently an issue. I trim them back as necessary. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: Plenty :-)

My wife and I are retired Soldiers. Currently, Mary works part time as an RN. I’m the stay-at-home guy. We’ve been married 38 years, raised three children, and have lived all over the USA and other parts of the world. We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, spending time with friends, making new friends, and enjoying a quiet evening drinking wine around a campfire. Hometown: Currently, we live just north of DeLand, FL. Originally, Mary is from Washington, Missouri. Bob is from Miami, Florida. DeLand is a pleasant, growing town with many things to do. We are near numerous natural springs, state parks, a wildlife refuge, a national forest, the beach, and many other activities. Favorite Boondocking Locations: They are like children; we don't have any favorites ;-) Skills or Expertise to Share: - Lessons learned from failures 😉 - Nursing Skills - Information Technology - National Security & Strategy - History & useless trivia

Bob and his wife are so wonderful. Their home is beautiful and they have a large property that was very easy to get our rig into and setup. It is gated so we felt extra safe. They have a stunning wildlife refuge a short bike ride from their home. A must visit when you are there. Bob also pointed out some great stops and we hit them all! THANK YOU BOB! The Juniper Springs was one of the greatest kayaking trips we have taken. Just totally love this area and we are so grateful for their hospitality.

This location and host is a gem. Great spot and beautiful scenery. The easy drive way and level area was easy to set up and electricity was so great. The host was so nice and we enjoyed talking and sharing stories. From a recommendation we got to see the manatees.
