We are located north of DeLand and just south of DeLeon Springs in the bird sanctuary called “Glenwood”. We are on a gated road just east of Grand Ave. it’s a quiet, safe, and tranquil neighborhood that is convenient to many of the area’s gems. We can provide softened well water to refill your tank, 30 amp power (bring an extension cord), and WiFi. The local KOA is 15 minutes away and has a dump station ($15). The site has early morning and late afternoon shade. We will provide a special gate code as necessary. No loud motorcycles or loud cars permitted; violates our deed restrictions.
Welcome! Enjoy your stay!
No smoking please.
Pickup after your pet.
When walking your pet, it must stay on leash (if trained & in the yard, it can be off)
Social drinking only - No drunks ;-)
No fireworks, no loud music/TV, no loud people, no loud vehicles, and no loud motorcycles - detecting a theme here? <smile>
Relax, be safe, and have fun!
We have a lane that goes around the edge of the property. Because of a light pole’s location, RVs have to go to the end of the street, drive around the cul-de-sac, and then drive back to gain access to the lane. It is partially grass then crushed concrete. Hanging tree limbs aren’t currently an issue. I trim them back as necessary.
Between June & October we do a lot of last minute trips, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you.
Fair warning...between June & November the weather in Florida is miserable. We have high heat, 90+% humidity, monsoonal rains, & occasional hurricanes. Our boondocking spot is only shaded in early morning and late afternoon.
Swimming, kayaking, and eating at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant at DeLeon Springs State Park; Mountain biking at Chuck Lennon Park; wildlife observing, birding, hiking, at Lake Woodruff NWR; St John River Eco Tours at Crow’s Bluff Marina; Bike riding at Lake Beresford Park; We are 10 minutes from DeLand where there is a brewery, wine bar, live music, plenty of restaurants, art and shopping. There is also yoga & skydiving!
Area activities include Juniper Springs in the Ocala Natl Forest (30 min) Blue Springs State Park (30 min), Tomoka State Park (40 min), Daytona Beach (45 min), Disney, Universal, etc, (60 min traffic depending)
Great area to boondock with a beautiful, peaceful setting.
Host is a truly a great person who we had wonderful congratulations.
I would love to come back someday.
My first overnight on Boondockers was with SilverEagle. This host has set the bar pretty high. Bob aka SilverEagle, is quick to communicate, met me on arrival to welcome me and showed me to a quiet safe, secure spot by his RV barn. SilverEagle has prepared a typed list of needed info along with brochures related to the area. Friendly and knowledgeable on many subjects Bob left nothing to chance in his thoughtful approach to hosting. I cam looking forward to more trips in that area and staying with SilverEagle with be my fist call out! Thank you Bob and best wishes to the family.
Such a gracious and very welcoming host! Thanks so much for offering your property and tranquility to our camping adventure.
We had a two night stay with Silvereagle, and the hospitality and friendliness was beyond measure. Silvereagle was there to Guide us into the property, although he has it so well marked (and provides excellent directions ) we would've figured it out without too much difficulty, so don't worry if you are going to be approaching on your own. There was easy water and electric hook up. And the location is extremely private and quiet, and a very nice residential area. We really enjoyed a lengthy conversation with Silvereagle the morning that we left, and realized we have a lot in common. Would not hesitate to come back. I highly recommend this Boondocking spot. You will not be disappointed.
It was such a pleasure to meet our host! He made us feel welcome from the beginning and was very well prepared in every way.
We had so much in common and enjoyed sharing stories and experiences.
The stand is in a private and quiet spot and we slept very well feeling safe. There is also a lot of animal life to look forward to.
Hope to visit again!
We enjoyed a lovely one night stay with SilverEagle and his wife. SilverEagle communicates very well and was on hand to welcome us. When we arrived we plugged in our rv and enjoyed our dinner then went out for a nice social hour with SilverEagle and his wife They even shared some exquisite wine with us. We shared stories and made fast friends. My boys walked the dogs on their generous acreage and the morning of we said goodbye. Wish we could have stayed longer. The neighborhood is very bike friendly and they have a great oak area for biking/walking. Thanks for the stay!
Bob was an excellent host. He made contact with us before we got there, and he was waiting on us when we arrived. He guided us to the spot where we parked, and his place was beautiful! We felt completely safe and welcome, and our stay was excellent. We will definitely remember this one! Thanks Bob and Mary!
Great location, very quiet and easy to find. Enjoyed the deer watching on our last morning. Close to Daytona. Make sure you go to Danny's for authentic Mexican food and ice cream. Also go to DeLeon State Park to see the fountain of youth and Sugar Mill restaurant, where you make pancakes on the griddle right at your table. Awesome host too! Thanks again and we will see you next time.
Another great stay with a really great host.
We really enjoyed ever stay and look forward to the next.
This is a place I hope to stay again. Wonderful conversation one night! Had everything I normally needed, but with good weather, I was able to forego hookups with minimal sacrifice. Quiet, private neighborhood. Gracious hosts.
We loved our stay at Nestled in Glenwood Oaks. They were very warm and welcoming and super helpful with ideas for exploring the area. The property was plenty large enough for our 34 ft 5th wheel and large tow vehicle. We were even able to set up a couple of tents for our kids to get some scouting requirements signed off! While we were here, we attended the races in Daytona and the location was perfect at just 23 miles away from the track. Thanks again for an enjoyable stay! Hopefully we’ll see you again down the road!
My hosts were amazing! When I showed up, he met me out in front of his house and directed me to drive across his lawn, Lol. The site to park was very nice and he allowed me to hook up electrical. In addition, he let me know about local activities going on that night, so I didn't even park for more than 10 minutes, and I took off to check out the scene downtown.
In addition, he provided me with a guide for local destination and things to do as well as a map/guide of the area. I ended up going to De Leon State Park where there is a spring fed pool, which you can swim in and the water is very clear! It is a man made pool next to the river and there was a few turtles in there! Oh and the water is always 72 degrees.
Then I rode my bike down the De Leon bike path to Blue Springs and if you are there in mid-April, you can swim in the clearest water I have ever seen in the wild. There are huge fish in there and maybe even a few Manatee. I didn't get to swim because it is "Manatee Season".
All of these things are right outside of the gated entrance for SilverEagle's place.
I am very appreciative of their hospitality and the trouble they went to in order to make a nice spot for RVs.
We are so glad that we stayed at SilverEagle's site. We couldn't have asked for a better, more pleasant and personable host. They live in a lovely, quiet neighborhood where we enjoyed 2 very peaceful nights on a very level site. There are plenty of places to visit in the area including the Woodruff Lake Wildlife Sanctuary. We were fortunate enough to be able to spend a couple of hours of engaging conversation with our host. We look forward to a return visit.
Friendly and generous hosts.
We enjoyed our time at this quiet site.
We recommend them.
We enjoyed our visit. Great host! Great location, easy to get to lots of places. Will be looking forward to next trip to area. Great first boondocking experience. Thanks so much to our hosts!
We wanted a close to home getaway. Silver Eagle's home is very close to good areas for kayaking and bicycling. We met B, who was a very friendly accommodating host. He provided clear instructions, he gave a things to do around here sheet to us. 30 amp service, with water available. Far enough from his house to give us both privacy. Easy access to his guest spot. We were very happy with everything. They understand the need for social distancing. Thanks B and M. Remember my offer.
Great stay in beautiful DeLand! Bob and Mary have a great piece of property, and we were tucked away in a private little nook behind their outbuilding. Heard owls at dusk and dawn, and got some great pictures of a pleated woodpecker on a tree right out our window. Nice, quiet street to walk the dog. Also, if you have a dog, don’t miss the Barkley Square Dog Park right in town ... acres of running room, a pond for swimming and a $10 self-dog-wash station which you’ll need after the pups roll in the dirt! LOL. Enjoyed fun conversation with Bob and Mary and highly recommend them as Boondocker hosts. Take care!
The host is in a gated neighborhood of beautiful properties with lovely yards and political flags. The location is perfect for people want to tourist the local natural areas, as noted in the site description. The host greeted me at the street and showed me the parking options. It’s a pull through loop for those uncomfortable backing up. The host was friendly and we had some nice chats about RVing. I used the parking spot that is fairly private and wooded, a bit like boondocking, except 30 amp!
Bob was standing out in the rain to great us when we arrived. Very nice set up with level area next to his new RV storage building. He offered his 30 amp service and would not take a donation from us also offered water to refill our tank. It was a pleasure meeting Bob and he was very accommodating and offered a great summary sheet of local shopping, dining, etc. Weather was stormy so we stayed in for the night but woke to a sunny day to depart. Certainly hope to connect again with Bob and offered to reciprocate a stay in NC.
Very friendly host, in a beautiful setting. His written info sheet was helpful and a pleasant surprise. Thanks
Thank you for having us and making feel at home! Great level spot in rear of 2 acre property...quiet, safe and comfortable.
What a great place to stay. The property is very nice. Our host met us at the street to guide us to our boondocking location where we would have access to electric. It was peaceful and relaxing. The best part was our conversations. We have the same number of children, both worked in IT, etc. the list goes on. We talked about places we have been, told a few stories, he shared information with us concerning the city and state park where we are going next. It was a great time, it felt like we had known each other for years rather than just meeting. We would very much like to visit Nestled in Glenwood Oaks again.
